  • Since the Active Mobility Act came into force in 2018, off-road accidents involving active mobility devices have fallen by 70 per cent from 2019 to 2022. Come 2025, tighter restrictions will be placed on the usage of personal mobility aids (PMAs) to curb misuse by able-bodied people.
Should there be more regulations for PMAs? And do you feel safe on our shared footpaths? We asked Singaporeans what they thought.

On basic theory tests for all riders and drivers, is to give way first. So anyone on wheels are to give way to pedestrains at all times.

The important thing is the mindset of the PMAs user so an aptitude test is needed for PMAs user to enhance safety. If the user is reckless and inconsiderate no amount of control can preamp an accident from happening.

Not safe at all. they are just saying it for the TV. Last time we can walk with peace, now, we have to be always on the look out for PMDs/PMAs horn/shine bright light/blast music whom think they now own the footpath to themselves.
