- No Game No Life Season 2 has been reduced to nothing more than a meme. Even though 100s of thousands if not millions of us would watch NGNL S2 we still haven't received any word of it being made. Due to this I've been reading the No Game No Life Light Novels in order to finish the story. I know you want to know what happens as well which is why I'm starting a series where I summarized the No Game No Life Light Novels as I read them. The plagiarism 'accusation' against the author Kamiya Yuu has never really been an issue, people just criticize him for tracing character poses which he responded by apologizing and updating some of his artwork.
As for the plagiarism issue caused by the animation studio, they've already apologize for using someone else magic circle drawing.
Both has been fixed by the time the movie NGNL Zero released.
We dont really know the real reason why no S2 is at work, but we can speculate that its due to
-Madhouse never intends to create any sequel in the first place
-The author had health issue that made him unable to work for long periods of time
-investors lost interest

We finally got NGNL to be covered on the channel! Hopefully, the anime will come back at some point because Yuu Kamiya and his wife are the ones that keep the series going (some of the editors too). It's impressive when you think about how long they've been making it. They could bring the anime back, but it will probably take a while because they would need to save up a big moment like that for the fans. 😖🙏🤞

I think Yuu Kamiya has said that he is very cautious about a S2 because fans expect the quality of S1 (and now the movie) and it's very hard to get that same level of quality now.

As a child i was so spoiled with NGNL that as an adult i can't even bring myself to read the manga, so please please PLEASE make as many parts as you need!

Didn't the anime literally end with a cliff hanger where they contacted one of the higher ranks with help of the fox lady?
Yeh as I said in the beginning. That scene doesn’t happen in the books right after the anime. I think it comes up sometime later but that’s awhile away in the novels

I think what most people don't understand is that those novels come out really slow.
We only had enough material for season 2 like last year with volume 11 (volume 10 has actual post-ending anime scene and both volume 10 and 11 have good cliffhangers to end at). And with Kamiya's changing health - any progress on a show or next book would be slow AF.
I still think that we may get continuation at some points. It is one of the best selling Light Novels and one of the most well acclaimed anime series. It's really just a matter of time.
And for all we know - they may be waiting for the final 4 novels, so they could adapt it in one go and monetise the hell out of it.
It's not like there are any more issues with Kamiya or that he is blacklisted. As movie and adaptations of his other works were made long after any controversies that he had.
Also this could easily be Bleach situation - anime may be in planning and works for past years, but it just takes time to organise everything. Remember we had pandemics slowing everything down and all the people involved also have working schedules.

And there is a lot of indication that there will be second season at some point - just because Kamiya has written a lot of things that kinda resemble the things he wrote around when he worked on original series and the movie. Including straight up scene after an ending in volume 10. Which makes no sense aside being a reference to an anime format or have been written specifically for anime format. Same with the Sprite World being cast.
It's either that he knows there is another season at works or he himself wishes it happens. And it would actually be a perfect way to pump up the sales for the last few books as well. And I am also of the believe - that even if we won't get one now. Someone definitely gonna pick it up in next months, years or even decades. And as AI tools grow and anime industry expands - they will have to look for some good base material sooner or later. I actually am hardcore waiting for my volume 12 to come, so I could see what this time he writes in the author afterword comments. Because he usually talks about his life, modern events and his projects in general.
But then again I heard that volume 12 is like 4 and 7, in that it's a dual story, so I am also kinda scared of another 1/2 year wait.

I've never read the novels so this video and potential future ones are likely my only avenue to hearing the continuation of the tale that i loved so much i rewatched the anime 3 times immediately after my first viewing. Keep up the good work, and may our viewing sufficiently feed the algorithm monster as it feeds you.
Also side note, excellent job with the story summation. I dont know if there were any details you skipped upon or exaggerated at all, but the story flow was very cohesive and it felt very much like I'm mostly not missing anything at all by watching this as opposed to reading the source (kinda like watching the anime) which is nice.
I don’t exaggerate anything but yes I skip unnecessary details. For example I don’t cover every single joke that’s made.

At this point, our chances to get a new season are at the lowest, but still a lot of people in the community will keep to hope for a new season ( probably not for long ).
We have enough of content available to make a second season and probably another 2; it’s really a shame that a lot of trash anime had a second or more seasons instead NGNL has remained blocked since 2014.

there were accusations and websites talking about how the author yoinked artworks from other artists, and people speculate that it's the reason why NGNL S2 never came. What do you think tho? I kinda hope that the animation style is similar to the previous or like NGNL zero cuz it was so good
