A couple years ago the draft with Spencer Burford and Samuel Womack the 49ers drafted everyone that visited except for Nick Zakelj.

I’m so tired of just going after speedsters though. I’d rather have a go up and contest catch the ball WR. But I know that’s not a Shanny type
Someone who analyzed "what went wrong" in the S-B pointed to that they kept passing to Deebo on plays that in the regular season they normally threw to Aiyuk; Deebo does well against zone coverage, Aiyuk, man. Now most NFL coaches start making mistakes in the clutch. Sean McVay just hired an assistant for exactly this because he's aware that he does this.
But I'm starting to think that something is up. Shanahan is acting weird. He shouldn't have fired Wilkes, he *kept calling* the same plays that weren't working & Aiyuk was there to be called upon. Then this set of rumors that he wants to be traded started. Shanahan acts like The Prodigy who either thinks he can do it all himself or has been taught to, & he sucks at it. He gets overwhelmed.
I think his need to be The Boss interferes with his decision-making & this might all be a locker-room issue between him & Aiyuk. _Or_ it could all be a show. But players often take it worse when they get close to a championship & lose than if they don't even get close, so it might be only that. Then again, he made it seem like the Steelers were a destination.
The Steelers aren't the Strongest Contenders in the league. I mean they win despite having So Many weaknesses, but they have Zero Depth anywhere but LB & are always one injury away from disaster. He'd definitely get touches there, their only other receivers are Pickens & one above-average TE. But I honestly feel that if they don't win big early they will (have to) start selling everything off. I'm honestly surprised that they hadn't started to do so this off-season. Where are they going?
