Hey James, All valid comments and thanks for the feedback. We will pass this on to Asics. When a shoe has such a change like the Kayano 28, there is a risk that previous wearers of this model will not like the fit, feel and function. While I personally like (my subjective interpretation) the new K-28, I definitely know there will be more feedback like yours coming. I would normally say drop back to a GT-2000, but the new version 10 is very much like the K-28. If you can get your hands on an old K-27 or a GT-2000 V9 then I would encourage this. The Kayano 27 was the last of its kind, with NB (Vongo) and Brooks (Glycerin GTS) and Saucony (Hurricane) and not to leave out Mizuno (Horizon) all within the last 12-18 months changing their torsional stability and how they create dynamic/guided support systems for over pronators. I can't see them changing this concept anytime soon. While we can't guarantee the fit, feel and function of your old Kayano's I would say it might be a great time to get fitted by a store that could use some objective data to help you understand how you move in certain shoes. Will hopefully put your mind at ease if you need to switch models/brands you can lean on the data to help you find the right shoe. For example we use RunScribe Plus and our own comfort algorithm to understand shoe performance and comfort. Im not sure where you reside, but I hope you have a store close by that could assist. If not, then let me know and I will do my best to offer some suggestions. I wish all the best with your running goals. Josh and the team at Sportitude.

Hello i have flat feet and i be been strugling with picking running shoes so i research and i found gel kayano 27 has the best reviews for people facing problems like me. However the 28 just got released , what do you suggest me to get the 27 or the 28
Great review! Thank you! I just got a women's 28 after wearing out my 26, and is it just me or does the back of the heel sit WAY too low? It's barely hugging my heel at all, and is so easy to slip out of. It's kind of stressful to be honest and I'm thinking of returning them for an older model.
Which shoe is better between gel Kayano -28 , hurricane- 23 & adrinaline gts-21 when plush ride is a priority with moderate overpronation ( moderate to max support preferred personally)
Hey Sujay, Thanks for watching and sending through you Q. Firstly I would ask what the cause of the Plata Fasciitis and where is the discomfort under the foot. As technically both are catering for that overpronator, however the 27 and 28 go about achieving that objective in slightly differing ways. The K-28 works more on slowing down the rate of pronation, through full ground contact and softer lateral platform. The K-27 is stiffer under the foot, and depending on the diagnosis of your Plantar Fasciitis, generally speaking we try to offer a stiffer platform under the body (which has the K-27 in front of the K-28). The K-28 is softer and more flexible in the forefoot, so this might work the Planta Fascia a little more than the K-27 But, keep in mind it would be work seeking advice from a Podiatrist or Physiotherapist and ask that professional what the plan would be around reducing discomfort and pain. It might be they suggest managing load (volume and distance) and or potentially offering a customised device to off load your discomfort. The support in K-27 and K-28 is general and position and executed in a way to provide comfort and function for your foot type. A consultation with podiatrist and physio, would dial in on the root cause(s) of the issue at hand. I know this has not answered your question directly, as I think 27 and 28 have real advantages but you need to find out what would be more important. Stiffer v softer and also would the Kayano be your best option anyhow? There are other models available that potentially may provide a better result. Happy Running, Josh
I really love the features of these shoes you described but I think I am a Supinator because the outward heel of my left running shoe is completely devastated (even though I have flat feet). It seems I should not take this shoe then, what is the best next thing for me?
