      BTW, I used the green/orange dual compound SKF seals on my last rebuild. Oil was brown and lots of dirt caught up under dust seals. Not good! I'll be going back to the green ones from now on.

    Tip for anyone doing this and having issues getting the fork seal deep enough to seat the retaining clip. Before driving the fork seal in, use your seal driver to seat the large washer that's on top of the fork seal first and then drive the fork seal in. Spent about 30min fighting mine until I did this.

    Once again a great video guys! One point that I would like to draw attention to is that it is imperative to avoid using a impact wrench when removing the rebound adjuster on the bottom of the fork leg as the hammering action of the tool can disturb the delta shims in their relative relationship to the corresponding ports on the mid /rebound piston.

  • @sandbiker

    Excellent video guys. Just one comment, on the final bleed at minute mark 15:26 it would be helpful to know that if the damper rod "does not fully extend by itself" you most likely have a bad oil-seal which is located inside the Screw Sleeve ( # 76). The oil seal is called "PISTON ROD SEALING", it is # 75 on the parts list, P/N: 48600471. I am currently rebuilding forks on my 2007 150SX & one fork will not fully extend. This happened before & replacing # 75 fixes the problem.

      Thank you for the knowledge, guys! I have the same problem on my 350 sxf 2012 (the damper rod does not fully extend by itself). Do you have an idea which part should be replaced in my case? Or is it possible that the air pressure is too low to extend the rod?

    • @bck2808
      @bck2808 6 лет назад +1

      ***Another part that will keep the damper rod from fully extending is"PIN KIT" #54 on the parts list (P/N: 48600977S) This was the case on my 2012 350 XC-F.

    awesome video. Thank you so much. I'd give you ten thumbs up if I could. The costs for doing this the first time myself were about the same as when I had gotten it done by someone else, because I had to buy the special tools needed for this. Nevertheless, it was a fun project and I did learn a lot. A word about to be cautious with the pin valve of the inner cartridge would have saved me 30 minutes of desperately trying to get that thing back in.

    do you ever need to put air in the bladder. If i am bottoming out, would there be any reason i would need more air in the bladder. I am also confused on the air part, do you unscrew the bladder access wholes once in a while to let air out like the other bikes? Sorry i just had my suspensions done by professional last year and found the front was bottoming out.

      +Binkke I guess.. if you're looking to save a few bucks and some of your time. Our Tusk Digital Suspension Pump comes with the Race Tech Nitrogen Needle in a kit for $77.99. Keep in mind that the fork oil in the inner chamber that you are bypassing is going to get dirty and eventually prevent the flow rate. We did our research on these forks and these steps that we demonstrate are the best way to rebuild them.
