I have this. I actually really like it. It is alarming the first time, but it gets easier. I got it IN 2014 and i still use it. The numbers are just meant for how many minutes your hair is in there and then it has temperature settings (low, medium, high). There's supposed to be like this triangle thing that helps you measure how much hair to put it, but it's always easily lost. It also has multi directions: clockwise, counter, and then there's an alternating one. You don't pull down and let it sit. You slowly lower it, then lift and cup your hair as it cools. As long as your hair is clean, brushed, and you didn't put too much, it shouldn't catch, but if it does, you hold down curling start button and it helps release your hair. This was out around the same time Conair had that barrel one. I preferred this one because I could see my hair lol

I think our hair ironing tool with changable plates was far better and more safe. Babyliss used to be a great brand for hair but it's like a lot of things thesedays only fast produced trash. I subbed to you now, i always get your shorts on mg feed, you are so relatable.
I think it would be smart to use these experimental hot tools on a piece of hair from the back/under layer. Not your hair line pieces in case something does indeed eat your hair

I would definitely buy another one. I know a lot of people don't like it. But the people who don't like it usually have more of a white person's hair. And I'm black and Puerto Rican mix show for my hair texture it is amazing. I know a lot of girls that have 4C hair love it too
