I can't imagine beating the first game on a stream where you can't just go offline for 4-5 hours using the taunter infinite bolt glitch to get the Ryno for the Drek fight
Drek is actually easier than you think. 2 shot bursts from the Blaster or Tesla Claw quick zaps(that's what I call it) will bring down his health 1 tick at a time. The bots can be lured close together and easily destroyed with either the Bomb Glove or Devestator.
On the topic of the Yetis; Isomniac holds an annual "Yeti award" to the dev who made the worst thing to get into their games that year. Because the Yetis were *that bad*
that "1,000,000 bolts" part reminds me of a video where someone was playing "Sonic Forces", and needed to collect 100,000 RINGS for a trophy. he wound up re-doing one level repeatedly, collecting 900-999 rings each time, so it took him...2 or 3 hours. oh, he also used a character with a "magnet" ability, otherwise it would have been 700 per run, at most.

Also, don't aim if you have the devastator, just run towards him and the shots will auto-lock. If you have to pick a different weapon, pause and select it automatically. Thankfully, they solved this issue in the next game

on ps3 you can kill the final boss of the first game easily with the flamethrower, something to do with the framerate and how often the enemy is damageable.

Hell, a PAL PS3 can output the game in 50 hz (which will make the pyro glitch not work). It really was just an issue with them taking the PS2 PAL version and upscaling from 50 hz.
unpopular opinion. The lack of strafe is what makes the 1st game work. Strafing would've made me not use the unique weapons as varied on my first playthrough.... however.. the weapon selections arent quite balanced anyways (nor the currancy) cause now if I replay... I use wrench, blaster, suck cannon, Devastator. then visibomb for gold bolts, and i add Tesla coil for the final boss
I don't get why strafing isn't like the normal strafing we know and love. It even HAS strafing but a really shitty one (the one where you hover with the jetpack and strafe)

I got the three platinums because I don't have deadlocked. Just got 2's platinum before yesterday I was easy. For the ultimate destruction trophy on going commando you just need to buy every weapon and upgrade them first time only accept for sheepinator and clank zapper
Yo its funny you say that 3 was your favourite. I played some of the other ones at my cousins but my first one i owned was 3. After that i didnt play anymore apart from quest for booty, which felt too short for the price i paid
I will say this: I LOVE this franchise. Easily one of my all-time favorite franchises I've ever played. But I HATE the first game. The controls are wonky and the Drek fight is horrible. But every other game after that is fantastic. Well done, Brando.
First ratchet was easy, second one the ship levels and the speed demon one we're a pain, uya the quark levels were pain, deadlocked finding all bolt breakables were hard
These four games are excellent and with platinums that are not complicated. I think 1 can be difficult because you have to accumulate 1 million bolts but with the glitch this is very easy now in terms of skills 2 is the most complicated because of the space races, that is shit and you still have to do three times.
I think i did the quarktastic challenge once with wrench only in new game + when i was a child just because i got everything else and was bored P.S: somehow i did everything without even understanding english at the time, have no idea how

It makes sense to start at the beginning of the boss fight as otherwise you are locked in even if you dont have the resources to win.

For Drek, I used the money glitch and bought the RYNO. It does enough damage that you can even skip phases of the fight.

The key to handling the yetis is to upgrade the shield it knocks them back when upgraded and makes the crystals easy.

There is a machine on the two planets where you obtain the crystals that allows you to mine raritanium instead of only doing the space battles.

You actually CAN strafe in R&C 1. You have to hover with the jetpack by pushing R1 twice, then you can strafe by holding R2
