The part at 2:25 is the best! I imagine a sunset in a video game, and a day-night shift like in Zelda64 on the Nintendo 64. Somehow reminds me of a Asterix & Obelix video game, too (because of the guitar and middleages instruments). You can feel the warm sunrays in this 2:25 part.. the flute gives me goosebumps! Awesome song!
@@Justin-TPG Oh yes, Equinox by Follin is one of me all time favorite video games and soundtrack! It's very meditative ASMR game. So slow... good for winter day gamings. The last dungeon, the ice dungeon, is pure ASMR! I love to play Equinox in winter! :)
Yes, it's the best part in the song! I imagine a sunset and day-to-night shifting in a game, like Zelda 64 on the N64... less enemies on the field... but with Asterix & Obelix characters... sounds very lush and nature-like... warm sunrays... middle ages romantics. Awesome part in the song indeed!
@@RaptureMusicOfficial the best part of the song was inspired by Genesis' Dancing With the Moonlit Knight's ending. In my opinion Tim did even better than the original
@@Plasmariel Interesting! Never heard of that song (I'm a 80s/90s Genesis fan where Collins is the singer not the drummer) but yeah Tim Follin did it even better than the Genesis song! Another great song with great guitar part ending is "Guitar Slinger" by my friend Jogeir Liljedahl, listen to that song on YT! :)
@@RaptureMusicOfficial Collins did both. Definitely more a fan of 1970-1976 Genesis some of the finest music ever made, I really recommend listening to it.
This sounds better than the C64 version, and better than the original arcade version a bit(aside from probably not being able to do music and sound effects at the same time)!😄👌
Ahh, perfect. Believe it or not, about half of all the videos of this music on YT are just imperfect recreations, which for example get the drum part at 1:36 completely wrong. And most of the rest were rendered at a poor sampling rate and thus heavily alias the flutes. I don't think I can point to another recording of this track that is cleaner.
surprised nobody has said anything yet about kanye west sampling this. i could be wrong but the ending of flashing lights is sooo a reference to this track
Tim Follin, the composer, was actually very much into progressive rock. If you listen to others of his works you'll hear a lot of progressive rock stuff going on.
It sounds like a mix of Medieval Folk Music, & 90's Video Games in 16 Bit - in a perfect blend
Even the sega megadrive version couldn't match this quality, relying instead on the original arcade's fm synthesis.
@@danielwhite2231 The amiga had a far better sound chip than the megadrive.
That hook with the Acoustic Guitar always gets me.

It's insane how the title screen has the best song in the entire game

Asterix & Obelix has such a great OST! Note that the GB and SNES versions both have totally differents soundtracks even if it's the same composer

I've a preference for the C64 theme, but they're both fantastic!

Damn is the amiga soundtrack good though
Which one is your fav? Amiga or C64?
I prefer the C64 soundtrack overall, but I have to admit I like the Amiga title a bit more than the C64 one.
Same, but I like the amiga version of level 3 more, cause it has dat bass
Yeah
why did sugary spire use this as their website theme????
idk sugary spire site got hacked idk

Kind of a stretch imo, it's just a looping ascending/descending string sample that sound kinda similar. The real shit is drake sampling dkc2

C64 is better with the rest, but the Amiga versions title theme slaps. By far the best
