I suggest putting 1 basic land of each type in and 3 coloerless lands out. The reason is there are several common effects your opponent can play that let you search for a basic (path to Exile, ghost quarter and the likes). Also there are effects like Back to Basic and Blood Moon, which sometimes can be anticipated. The reason i would cut colorless lands is that specifically with this commander colorless mana is less valuable because urza will almost always cost you 3 colour pips, leaving you with useless colorless mana. Id cut Academy ruins (overrated since its activation cost you 3 mana (including tapping academy ruins) and it costs you a draw (puts it on top). I would also cut inventors fair for same reasosns of cost (5 mana tutor). The third choice is hard to make and im not sure of.
So I know this is an old video at this point, but I have built my Urza deck almost exactly identical to yours now. Almost. What do you feel is a good opening hand to mulligan for? My biggest issue in magic so far is not mulliganing aggressively enough.
I planned to make some suggestions and maybe even test some stuff out myself to see if this deck might be real and I think I have like 6 or 7 swaps that are likely to increase the viability of the deck but I don’t see a decklist. My phone just updated and RUclips seems to have just been “updated” so maybe I’m just confused by that but if you do have a list or if you create one please reply to this and I will absolutely take a crack and helping this deck hang w the Blue Farms, Rog Silas, Winota, Thrassios and Tymna’s of the world. I think it could at least be a real threat. Probably if you wanted to just do the best stuff in the colors you have some other options like Zur, Tivet, and Tymna + Malcolm.. but I think this commander could be built in a way that it wins games in big scary pods.
Nice deck, i have to ask: if I were to upgrade mine to your list, would it pass as high level edh as well? my meta is pretty much high power, go for win, just no fast mana. maybe i could pass on stax too
That how a deck is build !!!Full power on 30000 videos of budget upgrades that wins 0 games and yours is well done, nice upgarde! just 1 question myrs are bad??they are artifacts creatures and give mana? all the best
They are good for the deck I think he just did have room to slot them in. Also mono blue urza turns all your artifacts into rocks so I can see if that's why he didn't add them in as well.
I have all the colors of my commander in Myrs and the Shimmer Myr, too. I also am running an unwinding clock so I want all the mana value I can get in artifacts. I think he needs a better draw engine, to be honest. I also put a Witch's Oven and Academy Manufacturer in there in order to dump my useless creatures and turn them in to +1/+1 for my constructs. (And also for the mana/card draw/life gain.
@@Brandon-ks2em Same and it was a sad day, I ended up adding Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge since he gives affinity to creatures and planeswalkers it might be worth looking to add him.
Does the commander really matter that much? Just seems like esper money pile as it is. Should try the 3 0 drop artifact creatures & a few more one drops & the 2 drop myr dorks to get Urza out early with his artifact creature affinity and start making giant constructs fast. Could maybe play some Stax to make the constructs more of a threat while your opponents can’t play too much
Yeah I like the idea of adding the 2 myr mana dorks to help power out urza, and yes urza powering out really big artifact creatures every turn with menace helps close out the game super fast.
I was about to suggest the same. The deck needs some more stax pieces or center around that and swing for win, keeping maybe a combo of ballista and heliod in it as well.
@@SupremeCommanderMTG it could easily have a thassas win but a neat way would be the forbidden tutors + mirroden besieged! unless someone exiled your graveyard on spot or had enchantment removal on spot it could be do-able!
I think you could turn some dials like focus more on combos. You have perfect colors for assembling artifact combos like reality chip + cost reducer/bolas’s citadel w Sensei’s top. You have literally every tutor you’d want for that. You might wanna add another combo and use mono blue urza as an outlet if you think the blue Urza is super good here (and it def might be). I think you could get this deck playing at a cedh level. Like a “real cedh” level. My thinking, atm, would be “you’d still be better off w another commander or commander pair” but maybe you just like this commander? And maybe there are metas where the big artifact beats makes a good back up? I would guess it’s like fringe viable Great video
I prefer Their Name Is Death, 6 cost is a lot better when your trying to capitalize on wiping everyone’s board and being able to swing in the turn. If your casting Organic Extinction which is 10 cost, you might have to tap some of your creatures you might want to be attacking with instead, or holding back for blocks since everyone is gonna be upset you just wiped their board.

please upload more of decks..i like your choices
Great deck tech, I just built one very similarly!
Here is the updated deck list: www.moxfield.com/decks/ie2re1TzF0OS-wqlzCpp2w
I would swap out shimmer myr for Liberator uza thopter, does the same thing has flying and can grow
Great suggestion I’ll look into it for sure
Went 3-0 with this deck at my locals so worked great! Only 1 win was a combo win.
What all did you play against?
@@jonaswilliams9755 it was against Winota, Tasigur and Kenrith for those games.

i built a list similar to this but use hull breaker horror and reducers to bounce artifacts and re play them for value!
Great suggestion! I might have to try and fit that in my list too!
@@SupremeCommanderMTG look into slate of ancestry i just picked one up to test in the deck!
Urza if he smoked crack, geezus

Lita Is just a suedo unwinding clock. Also I think kappa cannoneer maybe good include but he may just cost too much.
Yeah Lita is great for sure! Yeah kappa is good, just couldn’t find room in my list for him.

Any Update on this deck for this year?? or the deck not good anymore in Cedh??
this build is awesome but i noticed on the video you have a Digsite Engineer but its not in the ecklist did it get swapped for something?
When you played the deck out, were there any cuts to consider for the deck?
Currently making an updated deck list should be posting the link soon.
is there a decklist? returning player lot of cards i dont know
I don’t usually make deck lists since I go through each card, but I’ll keep that in mind for future content.
Why do you play shimmer myr over Liberator, Urza's Battlethopter I feel like battlethopter can be better due to it being able to grow over time.
He has affinity to artifact creatures not artifacts
Haha bro I played it as If it were artifacts with my buddies since it came out. Just realized this weekend I’ve been cheating.

how expensive is this deck with all the masterpieces you have lol
You think Urza chief may be CEDH level?
Play testing is required for sure, but I think anything is capable of CEDH level play if you build it right for the format.

Just casually put $5,000 into a video
And I’ll do it again! ….when new commanders come out lol
