- Phil Mickelson meets with the media following the Final Round of The Masters.
---
Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

The Masters predates the modern PGA Tour by 50 years and sets the standard for finding the best players on the planet, regardless of the tour they play on. Thanks for another perfectly run tournament.
He should of also said thanks to liv tour the PGA purses have gone up and opened up new opportunities for other players to play on the PGA tour
Still nothing on the British open in that regard
Exactly.. seeing the finest players producing their best stuff.. if Phil's happier playing on the liv tour and it means he's able to produce golf like this, that goes for Brooks too ,look how well he played.. maybe having more choice in their lives means these freakishly great golfer's are far happier enabling them to play amazing golf.. speaking of long suffrering where'd rory get to
Well said. It was and is all about the best.
this shows that the real golf fan don't care what tour u play in, just the best player in the world. Aloha.
Glad for Phil. Handled the media like a boss as a bonus.
Yea he is a real boss clown

Just a fluke! He hasn't been able to compete in any LIV tournaments. He has no top 30 finishes. Think about that?!? - with only 48 players in the field:) He was so far behind the leader at Augusta before the final day that there were no pressure on him at all! He was never close and lost by 4 shots which is a lot in golfing terms.
Such a phony
Phil is definitely not washed. Fun to watch him do well
Yeah Phil is a real classy guy - turns his back on the folks who made him rich and famous($400 million net worth) because he wanted more $. Then joined a lawauit against his former friends and colleagues, you think that's class? You sound like Phil's kind of guy. It was classy signing up for LIV after saying the Saudis have a horrible record on human rights and executing Kashoggi/ gays was horrendous. I also thought the way he ran down his ball on the green at the US Open, and putted it again before it came to rest, was the true mark of a great champion.
@@larrysanders3450 dude get off your stupid media washed high horse man. You never gave one flip about Saudi Arabia until you heard about LIV Golf…. And you know it

Phil is always present. His play IQ is unreal when he responds to questions on certain holes.
Sure he is an intelligent golfer but in civilian life he is as smart as a stick, a real numbnut! Who chooses to be the lackey of the clown prince of Saudi Arabia playing mini golf for a living?!?
Interesting description of boring.

What a great finish for Phil. Great to see him, Koepka and others back on the tour again, they have been missed!
The old man plays his best golf on day 4 of The Masters. One of the best ever to play the game 👏
Phil went -7 his final 13 holes.
Hope this totally puts Phil in a different mindset and he goes on to win some LIV Golf tournaments. He’s total class.
Ya we know
And started 10 shots back I believe 😎
@@franklyspeaking8335 Well I hope he goes into the next 3 Majors and has this focus. Phil drove the ball like I have never seen before. His ball speeds on the range before the Tourney started were at 178 and he was hitting 175 today on Sunday as the weather warmed up. Phil has always talked about how using Length in his swing is what he thinks can allow him to stay competitive till he is 60. I think he is correct. Chamblee, who I don't always agree with, has talked about a Long golf swing equals long career and cited Tom Watson as and example of a golfer with a Long golf swing. Watson was in the playoff at the Open in 2009 at 59 years old (had it on 72 hole but his approach shot went to back of green, bogeyed and lost in playoff to Cink). I think Phil can still have a chance at a Major till he is 59 like Watson, n fact more so because he has more length and still has a short game which Watson sort of lost as he got older (could still hit the ball well).
It’s a non story because Phil was so many shots behind. There were absolutely no pressure on him during the round. Comebacks from 10 shots behind has only happened 1 time in golfing history. The largest, final-round, come-from-behind victory in PGA Tour history happened in a major championship that is more famous for the other guy's collapse. The major is the 1999 British Open. The "other guy," the leader after the third round, was Jean Van de Velde. In other words Phil couldn’t have expected a similar outcome so there wasn’t any pressure on Phil trying to catch up.
Great comments from Phil, one of the all time greats and my favorite all time golfer! What a final round!

A living legend. My all time favorite golfer. Won a major on the longest major course of all time at age 50.
That's what was so remarkable--Kiawah was the longest major course, and he bested Koepka who was heavily favored. I recall a hole where both of them drove the ball and Phil's was far ahead of Koepka's. Fond memory.

He can still putt and chip and pitch. Phil has a Long golf swing and generates speed that way, same as Watson, although Watson was not hitting it as for as Phil is in his 50's nor the same ball speed. Watson's short game was a struggle as he got older. But Watson's long golf swing was why he could still hit it long enough to compete in a Major at 59. Phil will be that guy for this generation. I wish he’d realize how we love hearing him talk, since he’s such a legend and a wizard and all that, and do sit-downs like this more often. Would love to see Phil on a podcast.
Where ever he plays , at end of the day he’s playing golf . Love watching golf pga , liv , Dp doesn’t matter enjoy it all
Phil is a total inspiration to us old guys!
It's a treat to watch Phil play any course but this one is always the best. Would have been nice to own 2nd and Brooks has got to be boiling about not having it alone.
I knew it, coffee ☕️, the key to success. Listening to Phil is great. What a treasure he is. He's able to take a person along for the ride with him and imagine what a great blessed life he's living.
Phil is as GIFTED as any golfer . He has not had ENOUGH off the course discipline ! Just maybe the LIGHT WENT ON !
Man I love Phil...He is so cerebral with the game and his interviews.
Phil just looks like he’s in a better place. He sounds like he’s in a better place. It’s amazing what a couple hundred million up front can do for a person psychologically. His game today was the best in the world! For one day in a row anyway.
He actually looks run down. I guess he has a bad conscience after all.
@@RolandEHay lol. It is what happens when you lose weight and muscle when you age. Your skin gets loose. Maybe one can't tell the difference when they are an obese sheep their entire life.
Phil was like this before the LIV money, remember he won the USPGA championship at 50 years of age in 2021 ( oldest ever to win a major)
@@RolandEHay he looks the healthiest he's ever been! Phil the thrill 😎
Phil is a maestro, legacy restored!
Great comment ❤
I agree with your accurate statement.

@@larrysanders3450 Liv golf is the equivalent to what the WHA did to hockey in the 1970’s .
It made the NHL straighten out their business, compensate the players properly and revenue share to expand across the USA and Canada.
If you have the vision to look 10 years down the road, Phil joining Liv ,will be a big reason why the pga tour will be a better tour and compensate the players more equitably as time goes by.
PHIL!!!!! way to go
One of the all-time best. My Brother Leftie!
Phil Mickelson has won more majors in his 50's than Rory has in his 30's....let that sink in
Rory will win more in his 30s than phil will win in his 50s rory only 33 let that sink in
@@shane-irish not if he can’t stop thinking about liv golf 😂
@@shane-irish The beta isn't winning another one. He will get a trophy for being monahan's servant. If he ever grows up to be a man maybe he will win another. His body will start breaking down soon because of all the juice he is on...so the clock is ticking and he knows it.

Sports should be a meritocracy, CBS and the producers should be ashamed for the amount of coverage that Phil Mickelson received this weekend. He finished second at the Masters at the age of 52. Appreciate greatness…
Phil has always been one of my favorite golfers. Happy to see him playing so well.

Liv looked great after the masters. Spear headed by Phil of course. Great for golf.
3 decades and he is still strong . I can't but wonder if Tiger had no injury how many more majors he would have...
Congrats to Phil
Wow. Well played Phil. Awesome golf.
Class act. Phil is amazing.

Phil was a HI FLYER on Sunday!!!
Wish someone would have asked about playing with Jordan, they both seemed to be elevating each other with great play. Lots of birdies between them. Noticed the guys that struggle sometimes are playing with someone who is struggling as well. They were the most exciting match on Sunday to watch by far.
Pure class 👏
He was before Saudi mini golf

Nice to see Phil again with great golf. One of the issues I don't like is you don't see much of the Liv tour and the players you were seeing every week. Hopefully he continues to do well on LIV and can win a major or two in the future!!!
How can you do well in comedy exhibitions?
Lots of admiration for and enjoyment of Phil’s game. 🌺
His driving was more accurate than I have seen in a long time.
I agree. Every drive I assumed he would be in the woods but he wasn't. Also hit some nice putts. Chipping always amazing.
Wet conditions makes the fairways v wide
was never a huge Phil fan but now a HUGE Phil fan
Congratulations Buddy....\o/
As a fellow person who is pretty close to his age (I'm 54) this really shows that if you can remain healthy and keep your swing speed up age really doesn't matter too much in golf. That's what makes golf so great. Obviously no 52 year old is going to go play in the NBA or NFL!! LOL
Phil is my favorite golf player of all time. Love this dude

I like Phil. He speaks plainly. I liked the way he made sure the interview did not turn into a LIV vs PGA showdown at a Major.
