“If I never learned to putt, I wouldn’t be here”! Jack’s honest assessment. There’s never been a truer statement made by the greatest player of all time! When Tiger was dominating in the late 1990’s and the early to mid 2000’s, his putting was simply the most important and impressive factor!
Love these guys, true gentlemen legends!! As for the tournament BALL issue, it could be handled like the TEE position issue, and base it on your ability. If you're a Pro, or Amateur/College player and can carry the ball a certain distance, you use the new ball in competition. For the Pro's that aren't overly long already, making them use a cut back ball may not be fair?
There is a great game played mainly in Ireland called Pitch and putt. Plenty of videos on RUclips. 18 holes ,par 3 sport played by all ages on a strip of land about 3 to 4 acres. It's the future where land is scarce.
I'm sorry but I have to say something about this... whomever is responsible for the audio in the media center at Augusta National should be relived of duty with extreme prejudice. EVERY VIDEO I've seen would embarrass the life out of any competent audio engineer. Everything else I've witnessed from Augusta, from the condition of the course to the cups used for the concessions, exceeds the highest expectations of the professionals in that craft; the only exception being the audio from the media center. I can't figure out why, when everything else exceeds the highest standards of quality anywhere, such consistently terrible sound quality is tolerated. If need be, I am able to consult and/or provide an audio engineer of the quality expected from The Masters and Augusta National. I don't need to be insensitive, but when you've made your living providing quality professional audio, results so obviously lacking cannot be ignored.
I think a big issue with hitting the ball further and further, there is a danger that people watching the game will find it monotonous and dull if all players tee off and always have a short approach. For me it would remove the jeopardy for viewers and then crowds and tv audiences would start to drop of dramatically
To correct Mr. Watson, the Titleist Pro V1 was not the first multilayer ball, the technology was developed by Spalding and the golf ball was the Top Flite Strata……I was the marketing manager!
these men are part of the real backbone of golf, true legends, not the would be wannabe liv usurpers, golve will grow and leave the imposters in its wake ,
Indeed. 99% of Tour Pros are Republican, and always have been. David Duval is about the only Democrat there’s ever been. Weird that people were surprised at Jack voting Republican.
Gary, please, steer clear of politics. Prominent people should stick to talking about what the public know them for, not, in this case, use golf as a soapbox for other issues. We don't need to know.
Imagine getting to ask these three about The Masters, or literally anything golf related, and you chose a political /Trump question 🤦♂️. That guy should get his press pass taken away for asking such a stupid question
Gary is not one to shy away from a barbed point of view. The ball needs regulating, for sure. But the other 2 considerations are 1. club face technology and the shafts; and 2. highly conditioned and supported players. Number 2 is impossible to change. So number 1 has to be the next forum for standardization. Hot club faces are kinda like a corked bat. Every other pro sport regulates equipment. Why wouldn't golf?
I am confused about the threat of distance in the game?? Are we concerned that we are going to make more birdies and eagles?? Here are some solutions to make the game more difficult…plant more trees in the fairway, let the grass grow higher etc. I guess I am missing something??
lol, somebody tell Gary that nobody is going to be hitting the ball 500 yards. Long drive guys with longer equipment hit it 380. The ball is ALREADY LIMITED. Wait, what, Jack didn't even hit driver in his day on 13!!!!?!? The ball went too long in Jack's day!!! Watson is the only one talking about all aspects of rolling it back. I want to hear from these guys, name one course which will be back in the rotation on the pga tour after a ball rollback. ONE.
@@gregrambo606 yeah he doesn’t come across as natural as Jack, bit forced, because I guess he just wants to please everyone, and maybe a natural introvert like most golfers. Gary can be annoying, but he’s also a real treasure, unapologetically himself. Here, tho’, he was very likable possibly because he’s with Tom and especially Jack so there’s a respect thing and knowing your place. Imagine if he had the career Jack had… he’d be absolutely insufferable 😂. But he’s alright. Not a favorite, but I for one far from dislike him.
What an honor listening to these legends of the game.
The masters is so special! Great to see these 3 legends.
Greetings... thank you, Gary, Jack and Tom for the memories and being tremendous ambassadors for the game of golf.
the last story about jack's first dinner so great. what a special session!
This was wonderful! Three men of outstanding foundation!
Beyond belief. The best of the best. The Masters in every way.
So much wisdom in this group!
could listen to them all day long
One could listen to these three guys all day.

Gary is so crazy, I could listen to him all day.
We love you Jack!!!! Missing Arnie right now ….
3 very intelligent men. Some great points made here
i didn't understand a word he was saying LOL love Mr Player
Jack is such a gentleman to do that for the great Bobby Jones!
I love everything about this! Besides the microphone
Great. Just Great ❤️⛳️
How does August have such bad microphones…
Agreed
It's April.
@@toddfagan209 lol, nice one
How do you have such bad English?
I hope that's the worst life has to offer you

Lifelong lessons about family values from heroes🥇🙏💌
Tom Watson was my grandmother’s favorite golfer. She passed thirty two years ago.

Watson comes across as really smart guy. Great mind in the game of golf

been around in the US forever
That's 35 majors sitting up there. Jack w/ more than half of them.

Oh yeah, it's so much more exciting to see guys hit long irons and 2 putting from 50 feet for par....

Just a positive comment to you, the Top Flite Strata will always be a ground breaking golf ball!

Why are you asking Jack about his politics? How is that relevant to the game?
Indeed. 99% of Tour Pros are Republican, and always have been. David Duval is about the only Democrat there’s ever been. Weird that people were surprised at Jack voting Republican.
Who was that asking the question? Anybody know? It seemed highly out of place and in bad taste.
Alan Shipnuck. He likes to obtrude.
TDS is a hellava drug!

ask more stories about hogan and jones
Oh That's right! Like Gary Player from South Africa, Before 1964, We in the United States practiced Apartheid too! I forgot about that!

Am I the only one that sees Bobby Jones in Jack Nicklaus?
Jack speaks the TRUTH LIV guys and PGA guys are cool! It’s a different club of men …..
Jack at the nail on the head it’s that high level amateur. What are you do with that person
Imagine getting to ask these three about The Masters, or literally anything golf related, and you chose a political /Trump question 🤦♂️. That guy should get his press pass taken away for asking such a stupid question
No doubt Augusta National will look into this guy. You may be right, it may be the last time he's allowed on the grounds.
Great to listen to these legends of golf, but this is the Masters at Augusta, some of these questions are pathetic and unprofessional.

Not a fan of Tom Watson at all. Love Jack. Gary can be a little annoying sometimes always patting himself on the back.
Why not Tom? Seems like a pretty decent guy for the most part.

I agree with you about Gary and Tom. I absolutely love Jack, and miss my all time favourite, Arnold Palmer.
Technology is destroying the game.
Nah. Just the ball
I doubt Player is happy to be with Watson.
You all work for a living, I play games for a living? lol ok bud
I’m turning it off if GP goes in self brag promo mode. Talk about anything but yourself.
Geez Jack looks dead already, tough scene.
He's 83 give him a break..his mind is all there, not everyone can be Gary Player
This is incredibly disrespectful.
Yeah, it seems like just yesterday he was 22🤣🤣
@guth too old for what? 🤣🤣
@guth You got it Barnie
Watson doesn't belong here.
dont need different ball ...just need narrower fairways and more OOB for off line tee shots
My favorite Jack line: "My first year I didn't play that well I was only 14th in the world"
I don't like Player. I bet he wants to get paid to be a starter.
So many DUMB questions
