@@nothingtoseehere-vz4co I kept having the same issue. For me, I realized when you download multiple games from it, not every file downloads into the game. Check one of the downloads to see if there’s only a few files in it. Once I redownloaded the games a few at a time, it worked
Should be the same for the wii, they are both the same console, I have one hdd for wii u games and one for wii and gamecube. Since you can't really have all 3 on the same drive(outside of wii/gc vc), the wii u with usb loader gx will play wii and gamecube fine, everything else like vc, wii u games, etc should be in the same place, if you need to know where to get Wii U games/dlc/updates, you can get NUSSPLI or Wii U downloader.

Hey so I've been following your guides pretty much all day and they've been really helpful I'm just confused as to what the external hard drive is for and if I really "NEED" it or is it suggested. I have all of my games pretty much installed on my SD (128 GB) so with all that space would I really need the hard drive? could I not just install on nand instead of USB?

If its from nintendo then it should work. GC games should also work with it. You need to use a wii mote instead of the gamepad to deactivate the gamepad.

Gamecube virtual console? I been looking for a way to use my gamepad to play them. Just use usb loader gx. That's what I do for using my pro controllers. Also just to confirm wiimote n nunchuck works but not well as the movements r also inputs.

Hey scott! I used your guide and got my Wii U fully modded but i'm having problems with Wup installer. I keep getting errors like the one where it says no usb storage connected but i do have an external 500 gig hooked up with a Y cable. Then there's another where the install just fails to finish. Any advice?
Probably havent formatted the hard disk on the wiiu there should be an option in the wiiu settings. (If not formatted to the wiiu format the console doesnt recognize it) and when you format you will delete all of your files so take out the things you have in the hard disk before formatting
@@Nogger177 The external hard disc i have connected is already set up for my wii u though. It has alot of my eshop downloads on it from when i used my system regularly back in the day. I thought I'd be able to add wup installer to it or whatever else i wanted without re formatting the whole drive since there's still plenty of free space left on it. About 200 gigs actually. Can a separate USB flash drive be used to store wup installer if i connected that and formatted?
@@jasondillon2462 not sure, because if you have a flash drive and a hard disk wup installer probably wont recognize both, i recommend wiping the hard disk if those eshop files and game saves arent that important.

@Frensis_97 Thanks for replying. It turned out to be the micro sd card adapter. Apparently, the Wii U doesn't like Sandisk adapters because it finally detected the SD with another chinese brand adapter I had gotten from Wish a while back 🤷♂️

I also just ordered my ps vita yesterday so I don't know what it's like to own one, but i've seen tons of videos and it seems like a great console for modding! There's even a Discord client called Vitacord, but it only has the chat function. You can't call people or anything. But the vita is still so cool!

@@Poncho2007you need an Y usb cable. Your hard drive needs more power because the usb ports on the wii u are low power.

Use a high endurance micro sd card with a USB adapter, low power no moving parts and super small
3D nand SSD is the way to go. Make sure to format to fat32 for the Wii.

You can only do that if you install it through NAND, if you use a USB then the game you deleted will also be gone in the Wii U

I had the same issue. Make sure the install folder is in the root folder of your sd card not the wiiu folder

you could try remaking the wup file, i've had that happen for a download i tried to install and i just got it from a different source and it worked

makes ure they are installed to the same storage device as your game. aka if your game is on nand, install dlc to nand etc

Yup you can get the wad versions and then install them with yawm modmii edition :)

No, it shouldn't matter, should be fine. When you install the game using NUSSPLI it will ask if you wanna download updates and I think dlc too.

Because it's formatted to the Wii u. You will only be able to add games to it by using wup installer gx2
