I was 16 in the spring of 1983 I remember it being played on the Robbie Vincent soul show what a jam and a great year for soul funk life was so much simpler then I used to get out my TDK blank cassette put it straight in to my radio cassette player and record brilliant soul jams like this and just let my imagination do the rest how I miss them days
yup... I used to record Frankie Crocker ( Chief Rocker on WBLS) at 7:50 pm he would sign off with Moody's Mood for love There I go There I go.... There i Go Pretty baby you are the soul that snaps my control..... etc great song... , On Friday I would record WSOU Friday night Funk Jam ( Seton Hall University Radio Station ) The Friday night Jam , The Groove Crew ( with Richard Payne ) Dick pleasure pain,, (Jimmy Walker ) Super Blue , (Herm Hines) Not Ketchup not Sauce , (Sandra James ) The only Sister in the group , ( Bobby Sumner) .. The Stranger ,, there were 2 or 3 more that passed through... they owned Friday night .. 1977 - 1982 ( Rhythms blues and jazz only on WSOU... THATS RIGHT) that's was there line.. and they used a lot of sound effects.. ------ note: on other nights I would record either WNJR ( STROLL WITH THE GOLD) with Enoch Gregory or WWRL super 16... Blue magic..... The Stylistics ... the Temps..... I even remember one night the PEPPERMINT LOUNGE IN East ORANGE NJ had ULANDA singing her hit Around and Around live (october 1978) on WNJR... from the PEPPERMINT..

One of my all time fave songs! I still have my cassette tapes from 1983….recorded off of WBLS. This was one of the greats from that time!!! The best!
