This was more a pilot episode! Want it to continue?? | Photos will be available to Patrons/Members soon too!
Honestly, I like the way you were doing your other episodes, but anything you do is great! You are just so cheery and good natured, your videos always make me laugh. Never heard of a red kite before. Interesting.
I saw the title and was expecting that famous intro: “We all know Australia has kangaroos, we all know China has pandas, we all know the lions of Africa. But what about the animals that go under the radar? What about the animals you wouldn’t associate with that place; animals so rare that only a handful of people have seen them? You may not know they’re here, but they live among us. My name is Cookie and this is Animal Anomalies.”
Cookies like "I'm going to film a Red Kite.." Most of the footage is a Parakeet slipping a length to it's lady friend LMAO. Love it, keep it coming!
Great crested grebe. Stunning birds. They have this super cool mating display were the male and female mirror each other. They are a very cool species.not that common here in Scotland. Infact i have never seen them in Scotland only south of the border
Marlow is lovely, I grew up near there...it was also the site of an incident that gave me a lifelong fear of swans! Theyre' bigger than they look when they're up close and angry! Your kite footage was stunning, well done!
Result guys! Well done! Some great phootage and fotos!
Red Kites are one hell of a success story, there's loads of them near where I live on the edge of Leeds.
A story I heard once, while at the Pub in Lewknor.
A Woman who was Sunbathing in her Garden, in that Village, had to run back inside, because over 20 Red Kites had gathered, and started swooping.
Lads putting in an absolute shift....😂😂
Love the Parrots 🦜
may not have been doing my job of filming the whole time but defo was still beating you when it came to spotting stuff😂
Think we can safely say you are better spotter than me 😂😂😂
Those photos for members are going to be class. I live near some but I am not fond of them because they attacted my pet cat once.
Oh my God, what a bounty of bonus animals.
Right?! Was absolute chaos, we saw so much and couldn’t manage to film it all unfortunately but a great morning
@@WildlifeWithCookie I want a grebe. They're amazing 🤩
Good video mate 👍👍
When I saw the title I thought this was a video about Prince Andrew
Mate you should go and see if you can find the red squirrels on the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Wight zoo is worth checking out as well
here in watford i see red kites every day quite amazing really.
never see red kites about here
We have a family of Red Kites here in Cambridge, one is absolutely massive, come and have a look.
I'm pretty certain I've seen Red Kites in Kent.
Well it was a massive bird of prey with the right tail so I'm pretty certain that's what I was looking at. I did google to see if there were other sightings and there were so I assume I've seen one.
Yes we have some near us and I am in Kent 😊
How about looking for a white tailed eagle or maybe an Osprey on its way through?
They often swoop down on our bbq for food in the summer and regret it very quickly 😂
All that spinning makes me dizzy!! Lol
There's a mad large bird that flies around where I live in East Anglia, I always thought it was a kite but it's not because I don't think it has that tail. Great footage cookie, as always 🔥👍🇬🇧
Not out of the realms of possibility it could be an Eagle. White Tails get about a bit
Egyptian geese. Non native.
Well unless that's the Nile I guess you're right!🐊🌴
Great crested grebes are somewhat uncommon in my area, I do see them every once in a while down at my local riverbank and cardiff bay.
Beautiful birds, i've seen them in both their winter and summer plumage.
Also, you're meant to say it like "greeb" and not "greeb-e"? been saying it wrong this whole time.
Never seen any birds of prey in my life funnily enough, but god red kites seem stunning.
I'm back and I smashed the like button
Wow you met Prince Andrew
MAPS colors. Predator?
So why didn’t you order a pizza!? Win win
Rolf harris?
I didn’t know at all Muntjac where in UK🤯 now that you have video you should do a episode where you explain the background. Or maybe go back for better video 🤷🏻♂️
Jimmy Saville?
@Cookie
Actually red kites aren’t much of a predator. They’re mainly scavengers. They’re like the UK’s equivalent of vultures. They will catch the odd mouse, vole and maybe even the odd small bird now and then but for the most part they’re scavengers. Thats why they were so susceptible to gamekeepers putting out poisoned bait back in the day which pretty much wiped them all out. The population we have now started off as a number of reintroduced birds and with protection and the putting out of poisoned bait made illegal the red kites were able to make such a fantastic recovery that if you go to the right places in wales or england your almost guaranteed to see them.like you just did.
I would love to see you go looking for some town/city peregrine falcons next.its breeding season now so its a great time to start.its too early for eggs just yet but its not far off. Alot of towns have them nesting in them in breeding season now. As long as theres a tall building like a cathedral or that type of thing with a ledge they can nest on. I saw a whole family of freshly fledged peregrines on a cathedral in my town a few years ago. No one even knew they were there. I was so pumped to see them. There was 5 of them so probably 3 young and two adults. I didnt have any binoculars or scopes with me. I just happened to be walking by and heard them, looked up and seen them flying about the top of the cathedral . They have a very distinctive call snd look during flight and freshly fledged young are extremely noisy especially when an adult is coming in with prey. If your going to look for them watch a youtube video of them first to familiarise yourself with what they look like during flight and what they sound like
Red kites are scavengers but do hunt pretty often… though the black kite is almost purely a scavenger. Black kites don’t live in the UK but we do get about 30-40 a year.
@@Just_shush_now interesting. I didn’t know that. Where are the black kites usually seen in the uk?
Hello
You found Prince Andrew????
It's not unusual to see wild budgies? Are they lost or escaped?
Escapes… also they aren’t budgies, they are ring necked parakeets.
Yep that's what I see on low definition phone screen. I'm sure you're right.
@@Helen-us1ly they are throughout London. They are now considered a British bird.
Why don't they eat the parrots
So you saw Gary Glitter?? Or was it Barry Bennell??
dude, how comes u havent done turtles yet in animal anomalies?? surely people must have pecked u about it?? get on it man. pleeeeeaaaaase
Have only seen buzzards here in South Staffs until last year. Seems the red kite population may be recovering. Like pine martens, they could be spreading out of Wales. What say you?
Nope, Wales is almost fully wild while England is almost all fields.
