Absolutely love streamlights. Ive had a pilytac for 4 years in my hunting bag, my dad and I have both had their intrinsically sound ones for years for work. Best bang for the buck
Agreed. The Peacekeeper P1R works like this, and it's a fantastic light, but it was discontinued so I'm glad I grabbed one. Would love to see a polymer 18650 light from them as well.
Dropped my bezel from waist high while changing battery and it will no longer work. I expected more from a Streamlight...(UPDATE.. they fixed it with no charge! I am impressed with the customer service)..
I think stream light saw the writing on the wall. Too many companies with comparable or better lights at much lower prices than they were offering. This is one I would definitely look at as it is in line with the Monster Flashlightsflashlights I use now and is better armored. Great video and filming as always on your vid's
My Polytac X just arrived today. Its a big difference to the 250 lumen light i got last year. Thanks for the video helping me make my choice. The strobe will mess you up.
Just bought one because of your video. Great light for the price point. Haven’t taken out too far but I have absolute clarity at 75 yards with my 4x scope. Perfect for my HD BCM carbine. Thanks for the review.
It arrived today and it is BRIGHT! Blinded my buddy with it from 10' away. I said "I'm going to apologize ahead of time for this" and before he could respond I touched the button briefly, a la John Lovell, and he could see nothing, literally. Thanks again
Awesome review Sir. I'm a huge Streamlight fan and have several of their products. My favorite light that i have now is my ProTac 2AA. I use it everyday and it's my EDC light.
Amazon dropped mine off today. I can’t wait to get off work and check it out.... never in my life would I have guessed I’d be happy about a flashlight 😆
I love this light. The 10 tap programming is nice. I have no need of strobe mode (does anybody?). One of the programming options is no strobe, low light first, medium, high. That's exactly what I want. The usb rechargeable cell means I don't worry about batteries. I also love the tough, grippy nylon material more than aluminum. Bottom line, I like everything about this light.
I love this light. Great hand light, can be a helmet light with the correct mount and weapon light with ring mount. I like it better than the Surefire G2X.
Awesome video and awesome flashlight. I love Streamlight and I trusted my life to Streamlight for 10 years as a police officer working night shifts in a large crime ridden city. My Streamlights never failed me even after years of hard use. Surefire is overpriced and overrated and I've had Surefire's fail. With all that said I have a 1st and 2nd gen PolyTac and I can't wait to get the new one. The new PolyTac will save me money with a higher output of lumens. The End!
@@Mrgunsngear How do you charge the battery? do ya have to use their chargers. can the USB be plugged into a laptop or phone charger. There is no info on charging the 18650.. Cost of streamlights charger is 30.00 + dollars. Thanks!!
Great evaluation and thanks for bringing the new products to our attention. Love that t-shirt you have on here in the video. I’m doing a “The Grapes of Wrath” but in the opposite direction. I got to leave before the state sinks from all the bs. Question is: Where did you get that t-shirt?? Thanks!
Good vid, and I do like the light, going to put it on my S&W Sport II, for "hootch" defense gun, keep the more costly AR's in the safe.....and the rain, oh so lucky, sure would like some out here in the desert...keep up the great work!
I have had the older model on two different pump shotguns and it has always been 100%. I just found the new one with the cr123 at Walmart for $39.23 plus tax, free shipping. They have 4 left tonight. I probably should have bought two.
0:32 just picked this light up thanks to your link on twitter “x” to mount on the exact hand-guard. What mounting setup are you using? Thanks for the great content
thanks I just picked one up but I couldn't understand you when you said the size for weapon mount...I got 1.55 is that right? thanks for all the videos and deals you post
Was about to pull trigger on this and wife reminded me that my average too(time of ownership) before losing a flashlight is 2 weeks. 50 dollars for two weeks of use is almost still a bargain.
The tailswitch of the X totally sucks! Its mushy af. BUT you can cut off the 3 cover wings to make the button more exposed. Also you can pull out the rubber of the tail switch and put some rubber spacer inside so you get a more direct activation. This makes them much better!
Love you shot this in the rain. Just curious, what do the neighbors think about you flashing their house? Like the USB chargeable batteries. Good info, thanks!
I just bought one of these. I noticed the on/off switch feels a little "spongy". I'm comparing the tailcap switch on the polytac X to the tailcap switch on the Surefire G2 and the Streamlight Stylus Pro. Your thoughts on this?
Still the best Polymer based material flashlight is Surefire's G2X. Surefire's Nitrolon is tougher than any Polymer based material flashlight as it is reinforced glass-fibre-polymer infused with zytel compare to others that is just raw Polymer. And as you can see G2X is kinda like rubbery while others like Streamlight's Polytac is plasticky, you can see the difference of Surefire's Nitrolon. And one aspect where G2X is better is that it had an aluminum head.
01JUN21: just picked one up today, and I’m just waiting for it to get dark to see its output. Got it from my LGR before even seeing this review, and was sold on the dual-fuel option
My first weapon light was with the (I think) gen 2 polytac. It had the streamlight flicker that had to be remedied, but it's still running strong on my beater rifle with no complaints other than it's a little underpowered by today's standards. I now have a polytac HP on one of my AR pistols and have no complaints other than they dont make a tapeswitch for it. Im a polytac fan for sure.
I don’t know the obsession with stream light and those horrible “cr123” batteries. They don’t make rechargeable ones that I could find anywhere. And the batteries don’t last long. You spend more in batteries than buying a new light every month or two
Absolutely love streamlights. Ive had a pilytac for 4 years in my hunting bag, my dad and I have both had their intrinsically sound ones for years for work. Best bang for the buck
Pay attention Sure Fire... this is how you power a light... 18650 OR 2 CR123. I will order one tonight.
Agreed. The Peacekeeper P1R works like this, and it's a fantastic light, but it was discontinued so I'm glad I grabbed one. Would love to see a polymer 18650 light from them as well.
try out 16650 batteries for your surefire
Surefire does have a flashlight that uses 2 cr123 batteries if I'm not mistaken.
18650 is a vape battery? Any link to safe 18650s?
Dropped my bezel from waist high while changing battery and it will no longer work. I expected more from a Streamlight...(UPDATE.. they fixed it with no charge! I am impressed with the customer service)..
Excellent value and features. I’ll be adding it to my collection. I love Streamlight lights and carry them every day.

Seems like a solid product, good light output, reliable, good company, and on a budget. Win!

if you had to choose from the polytac x or the surefire g2x 600 lumen. What would you choose?
+Lucky Kleinschmidt I would say polytac x because it can use 18650 batterys the surefire Don't.

Woah Mike, having a little too much fun there about 5:33... GOOD TO GO!
I now have 2 of these in black 1 on a 5.56 another on a 9mm build...and a coyote on the way thanks to your reviews. Amazing for the money.
And you need a yellow for in the car or house.
I've been waiting on a simple, practical light with real value
well here you go
got it and a mount on order :-)

Just got a stream light for my bcm 14.5. With cloud defencive holder and love it. Stream light makes a great product.

This will work out very nice on my budget 20" build. Love me some streamlight products! Awesome review and keep up the good work!
I love flashlights. This one needs to be part of the family.
Ditto
I bet your neighbors hate it when you do flashlight reviews....lol
I think the best part of this light is 3.5 runtime with 600 lumens. With the rechargable battery.
Yup nothing I hate more than a 10,000 lumens with a ten minutes run time. I’d seriously sacrifice some or a lot of lumens for improved run times.
have this mounted to my ar pistol. it works great and have had no issues
thanks for the report

I've had steamlights fall apart on me but I did give them a lot of use.
I prefer surefire.
I still like streamlight too though.
Honestly, I’m more amazed about the battery. Recharge directly to the battery? Genius!

I just bought this model and a Magpul rail mount. I think I made pretty good choice for $80.
Amazing video like always.
A question MrGunsandgear... the model/name of the adapter for the attachment of the light on the rifle...thank you !
I bought an Elzetta ZRX, About $30.00 on Amazon. Happy pew pew bro.
Lckario you too bro! Thanks
No problem, Murica👍

Can you use the pressure switch tailcap?
I too would like to know
No
Great vid bro 🤙🏽. Looks like another solid product from streamlight. It’s getting very competitive in the flashlight 🔦 arena.
Do you think this will be good for urban search and rescue?
Will definitely check this one out. Thanks for the review! God bless.
Looks like the one for me. Nice light, nice price.
Just ordered one. Great review.
Thank you

How do you think this light would hold to use on a 12ga. shotgun?
*should* be okay but haven't tried it
is this better than the Protac 2L-X and how does it feel in pocket carry? thanks!
I have one and love it.
I want the one you have in olive, but I can't find it. Only black, coyote & yellow. Do you have a part/model number for the olive one?
Nice review as always sir!

Is the coyote color close to the magpul FDE color?
Good new Music for the intro. Good Stuff!!
Thank you
I think 🤔 I will go with the PolyTac over the Tactition light.
oooh man. I might have to snag one of these pretty soon
nice
What accessories did you use to mount it to your rifle?
Looks good, great value for cost. Thanks! :)
You're welcome 👍🏽
Think this would hold up to 12gauge recoil?
I was hoping they put the charger port on the light like olight dose.
fair enough
Mike, does it have an audible whine on the low mode?
I dig that intro music.
Thank you
Any plans for a FLIR breach review?
no
Would you buy the Surefire G2X or the Streamlight ProTac X for a rifle light?
whichever has higher candela
What light mount were you using btw???
Great upload. Keep it up!
Did you get a chance to look into the Klarus XT11GT?
no
Will it work with 18650 battery?
What ring mount are you using on that Magpul hand guard? Arisaka?
yes
Is it non-metallic?
what mount would recommend for this light?
Thought he was johnny sins 🤣
Jireh Barangan lmao 😂
🤫
Hello, can I use the body of an original Polytac with the light head assembly of the new Polytac X?
don't believe so
What is the charging time?
Anyone know of a holster for this light? Wanting to carry it on a duty belt for work.
How does it handle the shotgun recoil? Anyone have any experince with 12 gauge?
Love the theme music!
I agree..
thanks

Thank you
How do you feel this compares against the Fenix PD35 Tac?
not sure
What light mount do you recommend for this flashlight?
what handguard?
Mrgunsngear Channel either picatinny or keymod
What are you using on the MOE guard you have pictured? It looks pretty tucked in.
I dig the intro music. LOL.
Man, your view of those lights is very different than the camera.
Is there a remote switch available?
No
Should of got this one. The g2x I got for 64$ retails for 70$ same 600 lumens
G2X is a solid light as well
Can the clip be removed on the poly tac?
Yes
Sir how can I check if mine is original?
call them I suppose
Can it use any buttontop 18650?
Yes
I did not see the dogs check it out!!!
Can you use this with a pressure
Pad?
No
What is the lens made of?
not sure offhand
made of Real durable (Glass) sealed with rubber o-ring.
Will it hold up to 12 gauge?
Have you find an answer?
@@Tartarus34 nope
That's Very budget friendly. I think some lights are way overpriced for what you get.
