    2:31 GIbson
    5:33 8bomb
    upd: The feeling that when recording, the lamp warmed up when it reached up to 8 bombs

    Both sound good. Custom might push the amp a little more but the 8 bomb warms up better.

    I downloaded the audio and A/B'd them in my DAW. The custombuckers are VERY muddy in comparison. Considerably hotter, with a brighter, more mid-scooped sound. 8Bombs sound very mid-forward and articulate, much lower output - far more clarity on every note too. Well done! It would be interesting to hear a comparison with the amp's gain set to match each pickup set

    Nice snap and woody tones from 59! Custombuckers feels like puts a blanket between the guitar and your fingers, I have seen you in guitar summit and tried there as well. I think i will buy those for my 335 type guitar. thanks for the demo

    Custombuckers sound more wide range and open.

    I like the custombucker bridge pup in this demo. But I've played custombuckers in person that were incredible sounding pickups. But I really dig the 8bomb neck in this video. It's less woofy. But the bridge CB sounded more treble forward than the 8bomb clone bridge pup. But I think its almost impossible to choose any musical instrument/gear when not personally in the room. Especially not personally playing the guitar and seeing how it feels and responds with the amp though.

    Very dynamic. I prefer the 8bomb over the Gibson. It just has something that Gibson is lacking. But pretty close, I'd be happy with either.

    Your pickups sound great if they were cheaper than a custombucker i would definitely buy them. But they are actually more expensive. Its all good i really appreciate you

    I cannot say wich pickups sound better, bur i preffer 8bomb, the general sound feels more vintage to my ears. More middle/trebble sounding with less bas, the Zeppelish sounds the instrument, the best for me.

    What do you think of putting your clone paf to gibson lespaul classic lite model? The thin body one.

    • @8BombCustom
      @8BombCustom  2 месяца назад

      @@artorwhat why not? I think it can be 59, 61 or J. Sykes model.

      @@8BombCustom i wonder how much the thickness of the body affect the tone and sound. What do u think?

    • @8BombCustom
      @8BombCustom  2 месяца назад

      @@artorwhat the small body thickness requires more low frequency readability. I would put a 59 hot, 61 clone or J. Sykes PAF in such a guitar.

    It seems to me the original pickups had more rattle and dirt to them, although they sounded more classic Gibson. As for the clones, they sounded cleaner, and at first it even seemed sharper, although later the sound became warmer and softer. My selection is '59 Clone PAF pickups!
    It's so interesting, what type of wires is used for the pickups coils in the original pickups manufacturing? OCC or OFC, and what numbers of "nines"? What is the diameter (or squares)? Does it matter what varnish the wires are coated with and how thick the coating itself is? After all, the number of turns of wire in the coil depends on the thickness of the coating! What is the material of the cores used? And did Gibson always use the same wires and cores for their coils? Yeah ... loads of questions... looool

      The Original 1950's P.A.F.'s had 42 gauge plain enamel copper magnet wire, approximately 5000 turns per coil wound on butyrate plastic bobbins on a nickel baseplate, the magnets were rough cast Alnico IV or Alnico V long length (same ones used in the P90's).

    • @sommerssamantha
      @sommerssamantha 7 месяцев назад

      @@agriff4795 WOW! Very interesting information! Loads of thanks! It turns out that initially Gibson didnt chase any super materials and super quality, but made guitars, in fact, from the most accessible materials, and the main principle was that everything would work, be accessible, and that it would be possible to repair everything without serious costs. So, initially, the basic principle was “cheapness, reliability and availability”, and only with the advent of Custom shop we saw expensive guitars made to order, and then everyone wanted to get them, thereby raising both the overall quality of guitars and their cost, the market dictates its own rules.

    I have the same results after 8bomb 59 set and custombucker test:
    On the stage/concert volume (jcm 800 or deluxe reverb) CB are noisy and have unpleasant cutting sound in high frequencies.
    And CB muddy at any volume.
    8bomb more articulate, have more clarity and “cleaner” 👍
    PS on Gibson r9

      Custom buckers are unpotted. That's why they're more noisy.

    Странно, но звук бубнящий звук с песком. Такое ощущение что играешь в микрофонный вход музыкального центра. Твой маршалл на два порядка лучше. П.С. Соло "Отель Калифорния" писалось на Лес Поле напрямую в делюкс с улётным эталонным звуком. Я в полном недоумении...
    Все твои виде просто офигенные. Это первый ролик, который не смог слушать и выключил.

    Your P.A.F. clones sounded much closer to vintage P.A.F.'s. The Custombuckers with their purposely mismatched unpotted coils with Alnico III magnets sound muddy and indistinct, especially when played clean they were quite dull and lifeless. Your pickups, on the other hand, were warm, clear and much more articulate clean, much more focused and dynamic when played dirty. Rock On, Brother!
