The grey one isn't actually any bigger but is meant to have improved reception and a wider frequency range. But I received the bracket recently. Shame no screws were supplied though :(
With the bracket this is great for a more permanent outside solution but just hope it's close to the newer slightly bigger grey patch antenna re gain

Get rid of RG58 that`s poison, put the SDR dongle in the antenna and run USB !

Is the bracket mentioned in this video suitable for the square SDR Kits L Band version 2 patch antenna, the black one or the newer grey one, I think they are the same except the colour.
Is the bolt on the bracket the same size thread as the thread on the patch antenna?

Hello Tech Minds I’ve just received my square patch antenna from rtl blog. My antenna is pointing south signals received are good. When I tune to a 600 bps channel in Jaro decoding is unreliable. I keep getting either crc errors or missing frames could be sound card buffer errors. I have followed your instructions in the video, and had limited success decoding acars messages. Is there anything I am doing wrong eg tuning is off, signal is too weak, or the band width is wrong etc. I am scratching my head now can you help?
Just not 100% aligned. It's very hit and miss. With just another 2db reception it will make all the difference...
how do you activate the bias t on sdr sharp
I use sdr++ software.Just Rick the t bias box.

whats the rough price for the Tekmanoid software ? have sent an email in the past, but never got reply.
Have messed around a fair bit too using the square L-Band antenna, and picked up a lot of interesting stuff, a side from the usual weather, pirate warnings, overdue vessels,
have also picked up the odd email and what looked like SMS as well
I think I paid 55 euros last year

Just a note to say the map you show at about 30seconds in is way out of date. The 15w and 64e are not operational. You should be able to receive a satellite at 25e and 54w from the UK

@@m3snusteve Just tune to 1546.027 and up a bit for 10500 traffic then past that a bit for 8400 bps voice traffic, but voice is very sporadic and frequencies change
