    Hey, it wouldn't be Oregon Late Archery season without Eric posting his opening day KILL shot video, lol! Seriously, though, you are definitely one of the better bow hunters that I've ever run into.

      THE WILD LIFE OV
      Thanks a bunch man.. Really appreciate it. And this was the 3rd morning actually. Opening morning the 16th I passed on a few small bucks (check out the vid). The 2nd day the 17th I saw zero deer from the stand so I checked trail cams that afternoon to discover all the chasing had gone exclusively nocturnal which was very discouraging. I almost did not go hunting on the 18th but I told myself "you can't be in the right place at the right time unless you are there all the time". Plus the Blacktail rut has very unpredictable behavior. I'm glad I went..

    Great buck! Only thing would've been better is if you could've got a picture of the smaller 3 point look up at you and "wink" a thank you! Hehehe.. nice job!

      Thanks man.. It was a wild and crazy morning.. This buck has never been on any of my trail cameras. This buck was on a buddies trail cam a single time a half mile away a week prior to me ripping him with a Ser Razor.

      Thanks!! This buck had a massive body. It was pretty amazing to see him chasing that doe and grunting at 10 yards

    Looks pretty close to a non fatal wound, but good job, those close shots can be tricky. So how to you score a blacktail? What is a high score? Really like those chocolate antlers.

      Gen10nine
      Thanks for stopping by. The entry looks high but given the steep down angle it was perfect (aim for the exit hole they say). I punched both lungs.Exit hole was low on other side. And 130" is a big columbian blacktail. 140" to 150" are giants.. This buck is probably 125"+. His body was huge, he was 126 lbs full dressed on the the hook

      @@SoloCamXTOutdoors So they are not much smaller than some whitetails. I always heard that they were smaller. Are your blacktails bigger than those in California and other places?

    • @SoloCamXTOutdoors
      @SoloCamXTOutdoors  4 года назад +1

      Gen10nine never really did a side by side comparison with California black tail. What I do know is that their bodies don’t reach full maturity until about 4.5 to 5years old. Thats when they can start getting pretty big. The younger ones are fairly small.

    What broadhead setup are you using with that sbxt?

    And what is considered a heavy blacktail?

    • @SoloCamXTOutdoors
      @SoloCamXTOutdoors  4 года назад

      200 pounds on the hoof is a beast of a blacktail. This particular one was about 225 pounds when he was still breathing. He was a hog. Now he's in my freezer :)
