Two lessons learned here: 1. Don’t take yourself so seriously (I struggle with that too, truth be told); and 2. Whatever it is that you want to do, have fun with it or don’t do it! Nice pep talk, doc!

The more I think about it the more I realize surgery couples the medicine component with the medicine part. Surgery is basically both the medicine and hands on part bc surgeons prescribe meds similar to an internal medicine doc but also puts hands on to solve it. That is truly the only part about surgery that I like

After that random question about your first name...if I could have a do-over in life, I definitely would have been a surgeon. I think transplant surgery would be very rewarding, or working in a level one trauma hospital. I would imagine with the latter, you would have to be extremely stoic because of the odds of losing more patients. If you are the surgeon, your patient is bleeding internally, and you don't see them within the "golden hour" , you may not be able to save them. I would need a minute before telling their family. What was your most exciting case, so far, where you jumped in and saved someone's life?
