I got the feeling that the writer wanted us to feel sorry for Johnny. Just because he was slow, and his family being what they were, he was tormented, even as a child, it’s unfair. The way he died was unfair. He had a mind, with thoughts, hopes etc. Even after his death they are still not giving him the credit for having any sort of thought. They hint towards this when he puts back the wrong necklaces, when they show us his memory flashback, when he plays with the car, only to have his death mocked, which literally hurts his feelings. When all someone needs to do is show a little compassion and give him his damned necklace back, but to even be capable, they have to acknowledge there is/was a person there. Take the ranger that dissuades them from giving the necklace back, saying that it was a curse, he was wrong, and suffered for it. The truck scene just amplifies this even more. The driver tells a story about a mindless killer, which if we’ve paid attention, aside from his walking speed, we should know the bear description doesn’t fit. But it still tempts us to start thinking, well maybe this is his mom, and she is just taunting the girl. We as the audience have gotten to see his thoughts, feelings. Then, to finally prove it, instead of leaving the necklace, as he did in the past, cause the others were fake, this necklace he kept, thus implying he is not a mindless killing machine, like the bear story, he just wanted back the symbol of the only love he was ever shown. So, I think it’s somewhat plausible that he is now just living, trying to keep to himself, if the ranger is to be believed that he was the one that buried him. Maybe he can find toys now and play in peace. lol
Was it resolved???? What about it got resolved in that scene? If anything Johnny getting his necklace back and killing the thief is the only resolution in the entire film???? the truck scene resolves nothing. Just shows the mental impact this has, and im not gotta lie. I dont care. who is this character LOL i didn't care. And what made it worse is how the ending could of effectively come to and end so maby times and portrayed the same message but it insists on dragging along. truck scene huge NAH
Damn boy… your a movie buff like me! I understood and seen the movie the exact same way you did. Was great how the Director took a different approach to an old style horror genre so to speak (walking in the killers shoes) great wee movie. That Yoga girl kill was Insane….I LOVED IT 😂❤🎉🎉🎉
My favorite is the confrontatiom between johnny and the ranger because u know theres a flashback playing and an intense score but this movie is purposely unfiltered
Bro, how do you think Johnny killed the first "#1 MFer"dude? When Johnny went back, walking past the corpse of him, a glimpse of dead body's face could be seen and it looked grotesque as f*ck.
3:15 I agree with you so much man. I hate it when people said that this movie was so boring because he was walking. Did they forget that that was the whole idea of the movie, but besides that this is a great video
Great review dude! You just showed up in my recommended this morning, I'm guessing because I posted my review of this yesterday. You'd think we both cheated off each other haha. Great channel. I'll check out more of your stuff over the weekend (sub'd in the meantime).
I had one question about the truck drivers story. Was her brother attacked by a bear (which was never located) or was he attacked by Johnny ? Was her anecdote only a commentary about natures unpredictability OR laying the foundation of franchise potential by stating Johnny has a history of one survivor ? Your theory would be appreciated
The woman at the end knows its johnny but she was lying about the bear to the survivor and the girl knew so she came up with her own lie that she was bitten by an animal, both were on the same stance at that point, and both hated their existence the same knowing the circumstances, personally I think the woman got out of her vehicle on purpose , because the screen turns black after giving us the last glimpse of the survivor girl and the oil can where she put the neclace on. I hope it makes sense.
Why does no one talk about the fact Johnny was blind? You see this when they show his face and his eyes are burnt blind, when Chris and Colt were whispering they were far away but we heard it as if they were so close, being blind your whole life you gain insane hearing senses. Maybe I’m wrong but I got the sense he was blind and all his movement came off hearing people.
@@citizenvulpes4562 the irony. It's because of you, and your fellow tik-tok brainers that need constant stimulation because of short attention spans, that you fail to see the point of the long segments between kills. At this point you probably forgot, so i'll give you the TL:DR version. "Tik-toker lol, stay mad"
This is a great review. I’ve watched a few of these, but none have mentioned the shot when the driver is at the door trying to treat her leg. Chris touches her face and has blood on her fingers. What is the significance of this?
I appreciate what they were trying to do in this movie but, as I said out loud while watching the movie last night,” there is a reason we don’t see what Jason and Michael do in between their kills” …..because it boring!! They are mindless killers which means they would do mindless things in their downtime and frankly I’m not interested in watching it. I fast forwarded thru most of the walking scenes. At times, I almost thought this was a parody of Friday the 13th movies because of all the walking as a lot of us always comment on how Jason just slowly walks everywhere he goes. TBH it’s pretty tedious to watch Johnny do it. No thanks. I’m fine leaving that part to the imagination from now on. That being said, the kills are amazing. If someone could just take this movie and recut it without all walking scenes in that it would be tighter and better unfortunately. I realized some of the scenes built tension while you were watching what he was doing but the majority of them was a boring walk about the woods. Watch it for the kills and fast forward thru the rest.
This movie did not deliver. Also no, I prefer if we were watching the other characters talking, at least we would get some story and not just a guy walking from point A to B
cool. Doesn't make entertaining story telling. Wuff that ending man. The truck scene. WUUF. they could of done it differently or ended it so many times but... it..... well.... KEEPS GOING. WE GET IT. SHES PARANOID. WE GET IT we don't need this LONG ASS SCENE TO NAIL IT OVER THE HEAD WE GET IT. something only a pretentious movie geek can appreciate. I can appreciate the creative aspects of this film but pacing? entertainment? those are movie arts too i feel were COMPLETELY neglected.

Really good theory here. Appreciate the breakdown. I'm tempted to agree.
The truck scene was a nice touch. You never get that resolution in any horror films.

Bingo! --- your very thoughtful & logical review. Will be interesting to see how many more "choppy-cats" now come trudging out of the shadows.
Great catch on the campfire scene. I was watching trying yo figure out why it was circling the crew but that is SPOT on.
Why thank you very much!

That’s a great point!
would make sense but bro is def not blind. just dead eyes.
I think the main inspiration for the film besides Friday the 13th would be Just Before Dawn.
I've never seen Just Before Dawn, I'll have to check it out!
only a tik-tok brainer will call this movie a "walking simulator" or "boring", smh
Only a tik-toker would think this movie is good.
This movie sucked dude, you don't have to have a short attention span to see that.

So... is no one gonna mention that the movie is EXACTLY like the Friday the 13th game for Xbox from the 2010s??
