Hey friend, I've played the 5-string for 50+ years but have been reluctant to mess with the coordinator rods. You've cleared up my confusion with your excellent and clearly stated video. Thanks so much and greetings from Southeastern Kentucky. (I play a 1979 Ode C style).

..thank you, hope I can get rid of that buzzzz!

Good luck. Keep the adjustments small. Also, check the tightness of the banjo head. If it has stretched then the bridge and action will be lower and this could also cause some buzzing...

Nicely done. If you’re not around a ruler, measure the 1/8th inch on the edge of a business card and keep it in your case pocket.

Just what I needed to raise my banjo strings after removing and replacing the neck of a $5000 banjo with a serial number hidden under the heel.

Whereas showing and clearly explaining how cortanator rods work and are adjusted is very important and you executed that very well may I add.
I think however it’s waste of viewers time showing how to unscrew screw 4 thumb screws etc surely the majority should be able to do that without being shown, that goes for refitting the resonator screws.
So for time wasted only 9 out of 10.
Coincidentally I have a Sierra and re-set the co-ordinator rods without books or video and I accept some ppl are not able to do that but do spare a thought for the majority.

So can we expect more banjo tunes now that the surgery was a success? 👀

What you mean to say , is how to destroy the rim , by adjusting the rods , that`s not what they were designed for ! The neck action angle adjustment , is cut into the heel of the neck , where it meets the the rim . To correctly adjust , the angle on the end of the neck has to be recut , just like a guitar ! PROVE me wrong . Or just destroy the banjo rim ............

I know what I mean to say. Minor necknangle adjustments are fine using the torsion rods, if a large change in neck angle is needed then, yes, some work on the heel would be needed.

@@RoyJohnsonMusic Those coordinator rods are to stabilize and hold the rim in its proper diameter , any adjustment other than the neutral position(proper diameter) is distorting the rim , highlight that ..........
