Not to take anything away from this wonderful company but I bought a Big Joe Kamado grill and an expensive Webber with $4k left over. Best of luck to this company.

They say you get what you pay for. I originally thought this was a way over priced grill, but it is the real thing.

I have an AOG grill, it is around 20 years old I think and it is still the best grill I own. Full 36 inches without any loss due to a smaller grill surface, fires up and is absolutely bullet proof. I also have a new DCS which is NOT as good

Kalamazoo Missouri? you mean Michigan I mean I live 10 minutes from their factory not like I would know or anything... would say you need to edit this video

Sorry Jon! Didn't mean to offend, just a mental slip =) It's funny... the folks at Kalamazoo (the company) didn't notice this either when we shared with them, you have a keen eye. Unfortunately RUclips doesn't let us edit videos once they are published but I'll put a note in our video description. Thanks again!

I love the idea of the tray for the wood, BUT, what happens to the mess that drops beneath when you add wood?
    It’s all over the controls!

Great questions! That's actually one the nicest parts of this grill. Unlike other grills that use the cabinet underneath the grill for storage, Kalamazoo makes it a point to tell people that area is designed specifically for ash and grease. Everything is funneled down to the sizable debris tray for easy debris removal. For most brands grease is an after thought, Kalamazoo however has made grease and ash removal a core component of their grill. Hope that explains it!

@@DesignerAppliances, You're not answering gutshot300mag question....he's asking what happens when you open the wood drawer to refill. I can imagine all the ashes and hot embers fall on the floor & feet (if you're bare foot). Just imagine having this on my teak terrasse. Nope. Not at 20K+

@@gutshot300mag Apologies, I wasn't specific in my previous response. Kalamazoo has a box within the base of the grill that collects all the loose embers, etc. You would only be opening the drawer to put in new (cool) wood or pulling old wood out (which by then it should be cooled down). When opening and closing the drawer you may get specs of remains falling through the cracks but nothing too messy. Most of it should fall when the drawer is closed and into the designated metal bin inside the bottom of the grill. We talk about it briefly at @1:26.

Designer Appliances if you’re cooking with coal or wood and need to add more mid cook, the current wood/coals will not be cooled down enough to not burn your deck or feet. I agree with original post, it’s a design flaw. Great grill but that’s a flaw.

Waste of money, none of this justify a price tag of 24k-40k for a damn grill. I spent over 120k for my kitchen and none lf my appliances cost this much. Ridiculous
