I watch your videos every day it helps with my anxiety of driving bridges and heights. I now always say to myself when I feel uneasy "alrighty, let's keep trucking" and believe it or not it helps me ☺️ thank you, you and the content you bring to us is priceless 🙏🏽❤
You are right in my backyard Russ. I live in Trenton Ohio, halfway between Dayton and Cincinnati. Drove by these museums many times, lots of neat stuff. Glad to see you back on the road.
Native Ohioan here, so I really enjoyed this video. Born an raised in Akron. The Ohio River Valley is where all my ancestors are from. My mom had aunts, uncles, and cousins living in Dayton. Family member worked for National Cash Register. Remember how proud my Grandma was of her Dayton relatives.
I live in Ohio and I would have loved to have met you when you were here. You are the greatest RUclipsr ever. I love ALL of your videos. I was out west once, years ago, and you remind me how beautiful it really is. Thank you so much because I know I'll never get to go there again. Again, thank you.....
Glad you stopped in Dayton, my hometown. Sorry I missed you. I am about 20 miles north of Dayton in Tipp City, OH. I would of loved of to buy you coffee and breakfast. Maybe your next trip. Dayton is so rich in history. Hope you made it to the Air Force Museum. Another great place and history. Safe travels back to AZ.
I was so thrilled you did two top museums in my hometown ❤!! At Carrillon Park, we have a pair of breeding eagles who have called the park home. Orv and Willa have raised several offsprings. Thank you for both vlogs. I enjoy traveling with you 🎉
Wow! You really hit the jackpot in Dayton. It's such a unique place for it's exploration of flight. I am looking forward to your video from the Air Force Museum of Flight. I have a connection to Wright Patterson AFB and the Air Force Research Laboratory there. The equipment I used for my masters thesis at Cal Berkeley was funded by the Air Force Research Laboratory in the 1960's. I suspect that these facilities are located in Dayton due to its history of early flight research and innovation. And, the city of Dayton has done an exceptional job of making the history of flight available to the public. It's quite amazing what the automobile and aircraft industries have achieved in a century, when I reflect on the fact that the history of flight started when my parents were already in elementary school.
Oh, Russ. Thank you for this great video. LOVE the flight sights and museums in Dayton. Love THIS video and so anticipating your take on the Air Force Museum @ Wright-Patterson. Wow, the beauty and history you give us. Hugs, blessings and BIG smiles from Oklahoma!
Glad you are back at it! Loved the museum - amazing how much industry happened right there in just Dayton! Thanks again for such a great b-day gift/ celebration! Jim
The Carillon Museum was on the best museums you have visited. Well thought out and very well presented. Willbe looking forward to the travel footage through N Michigan in Oct or Nov.
Thumbs up for great museum tour! Sure was something seeing Kitty Hawk ! Glad you’re back to work! Hope it’s the extra strong replacement..outer space material strength!
Hi! We live in a city east of Dayton. So cool that you were/are nearby. I began watching your videos to enjoy the desert landscapes that i miss from when we were stationed in SoCal. 🤓
Bummer about the window. As usual, another enjoyable video of your travels. My girlfriend (in 1971) and her family were orginally from Dayton. And guess what, her dad worked for NCR.
Hi Russ I am back I forgot to tell you . The big book of aa was also written and published in this state back in the early 30s . This organization has saved a lot of lives and familys including mine thank you Robert of dagsboro.
Cincinnati native here, but I live in Lexington KY now. Beautiful country down here with great horse farms if you ever get a chance! Love that you’re in my neck of the woods!!!
Another great video Russ. I enjoy going to Dayton myself. Sounds like you are, or have already traveled close to my neck of the woods. I live in Southeast Ohio right along the Ohio River right accross from West Virginia. Hope you have a nice time traveling thru there. Keep up with the great videos. Thanks.
I've never been to Ohio, so this was a treat. I grew up in the northeast. That museum property was amazing to see! You didn't comment on the autumn leaves, but they were also really nice to see. I live in FL now, so don't get to see the leaves changing color anymore, in person. That lady making applesauce was in costume? She was going to make the applesauce over the hearth? That is so cool! What a fun job she has!
Sorry about the window on the van. Can't control on what happens on the road. Can't film national parks but Wright Brothers NP in N. Carolina is impressive. Thanks for the tour.
I'm happy you are back on the road and that had your truck issue sorted over the past few days. This museum looked really great not just because of the history, but even the park around the museum is stunning ! Looking forward to the next video, safe travels.
The Wright Brothers are my cousins on my Dad's side of the family and Gen William Billy Mitchell who is the father of the Air force is my cousin on my Mother's side of the family. Billy met Orville when he was a teenager. My Father and Mother solidified them as family. The Wright brothers brought forth the airplane and Mitchell was the one who showed how to properly use the airplane. He even predicted air travel across the Big pond and much more ! Pretty cool if I do say so myself !
Hey Charles, nice to chat with a member of the Wright family. My father gave Orville Wright a tour of NCR two weeks before Orville passed. The Wright plane display Russ showed us was the last project Orville worked on. Air Force General Curtis LeMay got intrigued by flying when he saw one of the first Wright B Flyers flying over Columbus, OH when he was 4 years old. Thanks Russ for showing such a historic area!!!
@@rockycoyote Very Cool ! I'm always interested in hearing more about there life. And it's really Cool to have these people in our family tree ! Yes, Thank You Russ for allowing use to join the journey ! Oh, I almost forgot, but the town of Mitchell South Dakota was named after Billy Mitchell's grandfather which I thought was really cool as well.
They say that there really are "no accidents", even something as unexpected, expensive, and inconvenient as a broken custom window! Perhaps, from a higher point of view, your Guardian Road Angels felt you truly needed to REST. Thank You for highlighting some POSITIVES about the Dayton area!! I live in a too-famous Village a little North and East of Dayton---and it's great when folks can highlight good things about any city. Dayton has plenty of problems, like most mid-sized American cities---it's lost so many businesses over the decades---BUT IT AIN'T DEAD YET!!! lol ~ ~ Happy Trails over the River and Into the Woods of West Virginia!
Foreign parts are getting harder to get, and at the moment we don't build things here, so everyone suffers when you need parts for your vehicle. Good luck, Russ
If you are going down US Route 35 through Chillicothe and Gallipolis then cross the Ohio River in Point Pleasant WVA. You should check out the Moth man statue in Point Pleasant about that monster legend. Do not forget to stop at Hillbilly Hotdogs great hotdog in the area on route 2 between Point Pleasant and Huntington WVA of the WVA side of the Ohio River.
Not fun to lose a window, but it could have been so much worse. The rock could have hit you! A window can be replaced. A van can even be replaced, but you, my friend, cannot be replaced, and I'm glad you're okay. In the meantime thanks for another awesome video. My dad had an antique cash register, and I'll bet it came from Dayton.
Why didn't you continue to film the UP? I was looking forward to seeing Cooper Harbor and the rest of the UP. Thanks for lying. You could have rented a car and continued filming. You gave no apologies or said what happened, etc. I guess I won't be subscribing now.
Hi Russ we had a national cash register plant in millsboro del. back in the mid 70s for about 7 years they were a good company to work for and they hired a lot of people it was a big boom when they came here and a big let down when they closed . Have a good day. Robert from dagsboro de.

Charles Kettering invented the automobile starter motor for General Motors. It was first used on Cadillac automobiles.
That was the “self-starter” he referred to!

Escada on Lake Huron?
If you have time, be sure to check out the National Museum of the US Air Force..................
More Michigan 🎥👀✅
Great job mr. Russ, but how in the world did a rock hit the side like that🤔. Be safe mr. Russ👍✌
Dayton also invented the pop top for aluminum cans. Also, the UPC code.
Where did the rock come from. Did someone break in. A rock coming from the side is suspicious. Glade you're okay. Safe Travels as always.
Are those cicadas I hear?
Have you ran into Traveling Robert on your journey's?
