The RG35xx winner for me. Over the many handhelds I have, the H is still my go to for it's power level. The RG35XX H and my Retroid Pocket 4 Pro are the two daily drivers.

Its my first anbernic system and I just got mine in the mail. Updated the os and changed the theme. The Naomi games run well too. Comes with a good selection of games. The Dreamcast runs well as you said. Very good portable retro handheld.
I've got this device and bought it when it came out. Really good. I like it a lot. I use Batocera/Koriki and that's good firmware as well. Highly recommend it. I love the transparent purple. Purple is very subtle colour.
Always loved anbernic, especially this kind of form factor. My first anbernic is RG280M, one of the best designs and builds, especially the metal feel of it. I also have the RG405m i bought it specifically for the metal build again. But the best for me is the rg350m well its a bit outdated now. I really hope they make metal version for this one rg35xx h m hahaha
I got mine for £35 new having dabbled in the past with some cheaper ones ans honestly it’s brilliant. For ps1 and earlier it’s brilliant. N64 and Dreamcast are very good. 10% of titles won’t be playable and 10% come with compromises. But 80% are excellent for casual play. Its form factor is a little bit small by design. So it’s not ideal for long play sessions. The tv out works brilliantly (which isn’t mentioned here).
I love my RG35XX H, it's the one, out of dozens of handhelds I have, that I take with me when travelling. Though a good reason not to buy it might be that Anbernic is just about to release the RG40XX H which has the same form factor, a bigger screen and stacked shoulder buttons.
got mine and one for my girlfriend , absolute steal for the price I paid , very well built machine , stock firmware is fantastic , its simple to use and has lots of features that you actually use, plays up to dreamcast , struggles on some psp games but its 35 quid , I'm fine with that. I have a steam deck and a gaming PC plus a PS$ , not touched any of them since I got it. get one
I’ve been playing a bunch of PSP games and have no issues. As long as you use the right settings you’ll be fine. I’ve actually just got into Monster Hunter the 3rd English Port HD textures and it runs extremely well. I found a video that helped with the settings and I have no lag or stutters.
underrated is a hot take lol. people are eating them up. hey he got me to click and comment though. if anbernic had made the 40xx just a liiiiiiittle more pocketable with a couple mm off the sides and bottom chin they would have gotten me to buy two devices. would want the sp as well but i've been holding on for the miyoo flip since it was announced. although im almost positive the flip will have its issues so ill be waiting a little while to see those get fleshed out lol
The h is great for the on the go factor. I have beaten super Mario world on this as well as snatcher and mario 64 ds. Psp seemed like a bad idea but I've been playing peace walker and it's running pretty great. Im considering custom firmware but no option is convenient even ehen it cones to updating the stockl operating system. Definitely buy this one even if you have a steam deck because its simply powerful abd pocketable. I've been waiting for something this capable and ergonomic to hit the market for years; the other really neat looking handhelds before this were eith overpriced or extremely underpowered. This is going to push things forward from here and we should expect some great handheld emulation hardware as well as software. Get ready with your cash because the golden era is almost here.
Howdy hey! I'm interested in buying one myself and absolutely LOVE the video you made here, but you did accidentally have one key flaw with your handheld. The operating system that it comes with out of the box needs to be manually updated to the latest version in order to fix the game rooms problem and stuff like that. Besides that though, wonderful video you made here and I would love to see more out of your channel! I'm subscribing 😁👍
@@valvomo1540 the trimui has heating issues, I would say "overheat" isn't the right word because it never shuts down due to the heat, it's just that it dissipates heat through the backplate so it can get uncomfortable to hold over time

I got this over the sp because of the analog sticks and if I take my retroid pocket 4 pro out side and break it I would be hurt this goes with me when the wife has to run in "real quick" . Pays what I need it to mostly gba and ps1
I would really live to know who the hell puts handheld systems straight in their pocket or bag without its own case. This is the whole reason we have these extremely unergonomic flat designs, no room for vertically arranged shoulder buttons, recessed thumbsticks, mini thumbstick, and in the past analogue nubs and sliders instead of thumbsticks. And I maintain that nobody benefits from this awful form factor when they have to put it in a case and put that case in their bag. They're too fragile to leave rattling around in there, and even the smallest handheld is too big to fit in anyone's pocket unless they happen to be a clown.
This version is best in slot (thats a mmorpg term for you youngins) for me. It's the perfect blend of size, power, and selection out of the box. I use this thing primarily for RPGs and low demanding games, and it performs and feels great. Currently playing through Golden Sun, a GBA rpg, and it's perfect for that.
Does anyone know how well it plays ff7 on ps1 emulation? I want to get a couple for my kids for Christmas, set them all up and play together on some of the classics I think they'd love. FF7 playing or not isn't a deal breaker, but would be nice.
It sucks, why would anyone would want a widescreen to emulate 4:3 systems? Instead of getting a trimui y rather stick with the ps vita or even original psp. The charm of these retro handheld is the form factor and aspect ratio.

At 5:32 you should have firstly explained the "F" button. A lot of games play as intended with the first "Games room" selection. If they don't then you load them thru the RA emulator.
I just got one... paid 33 bucks on a special from ali express but I'm going end up giving it to my nephews the screen is just too small and its just too cramped for bigger hands. Heck wish I bought a few more... for the price its killer and I had a great time playing some classic consoles and arcade games.
I have one of these, and the sticks give it an edge over the others but I get cramp in my right hand when I use it. This doesn't happen with the 35XX SP.

I don’t think it’s underrated though, the latest CFW seems to be focused on that chipset and it all started when this one released. Hated the clicky shoulder and there was no good CFW at the time so stuck with my MM+, no regerts
I bought a Anbernic rg35xxH and in three days it started rapid discharge and would not charge. The Anbernic charging horror stories aren't exclusive to the 35xxH either. Gambling on getting e-waste that can catch on fire leaves nothing underrated. Didn't get a refund either

Some reviewers might mention they haven't experienced defects with their Asus RoG Ally or dealt with Asus repair, but you might have noticed, they take a different approach than yours in response. To that end, if you watch Retro Game Corps recent RG40xxH video, he actually brought up reports regarding battery and charging for some Anbernic devices. Do you also go into threads about bugs in games to share that you aren't experiencing them?

@@sovifraktal1207 I knew in advance not to use fast charger. I used A to C cable with USB A port chargers. Mostly an Anker, definitely 5V. One time I used the laptop USB A port, not even extended time nor hot. My mouse dongle is in the USB 2.0 port, so I did not use the eldest tech port. That didn't coincide with the issue though. Something just faulty, whether the battery, port and/or in between. Even 1A 5V bricks can get hot, so who knows.

I finished Metroid Zero Mission on this thing and currently working my way through Chrono Trigger. It's great.

Plenty of PSP games run perfectly well on my RG35XX H actually.
Mine too. GTA liberty city stories runs well. Completed without an issues on stock OS

The loud shoulder buttons I'm rather bothered by, but you are right that the types of games most being played on it won't use them anyway.

I picked this up over the Trimui SmartPro. Overtime that unit overheats. If I want to game on a TV I can because of the mini hdmi port.

Trimui unit. The chip inside and battery does overheat. The screen also will burn images on it leaving a white spot on the screen.

I would say the TrimUI Smart Pro is the best handheld under $70.
and if you wait enough, it's roughly the same price as RG35XXH. I think that should be the product reviewers should suggest, instead of the RG35XXH.
