You all prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Kash Jaxon Instablaster :)
@Wells Fernando Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Wells Fernando it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out !
@Kash Jaxon no problem =)
We NEED the Euro vs. American styling smack down! You actually could do 1 each, why each one is better. Or a 10 points and do a winner of each point as you go style. So many way s to do it and so much fun to be had!
Not too long at all. Could've watched a couple more, easily. Thanks again for putting in all the work and posting these!
Glad you like them!
Real world constructive criticism like this from a professional is so valuable and beneficial for everyone wanting to improve.
Thanks so much!
BRILLIANT VIDEO SIR! I've seen tons of monotone like backgrounds(black on black on black.. browns, reds...etc). It's very popular here in the US and typically Drinks are done that way. It's sorta the "low-key" like setup with darks everywhere with a tiny pop and splash of color. There's another youtuber than is extremely big on straight food shots and she's widely known and I'm positive the majority picked up on hers. I have to admit, you're being a tad personal BUT the "expected" shots you removed I have to gladly admit are typical so I agree with you there. I hope you do another one of these type videos. I enjoy it.
To help the new people let me say something... I agree with the guy about taking time but I've seen total newbies never had a camera literally buys one, takes a few simple shots and within months he now makes thousands of dollars a month. Myself, I've been shooting photography for the same as him but my niche ended up being beauty and fashion on a commercial level, my food shots, EH, but I still get paid and they work for local places and I still make thousands. Don't focus on snagging the big time big boy "commercial" work, your local work is commercial too. Your concept is the stuff that sells you into the door, the agent, owner, director whoever will then tell you how they want their shots. My food shots this guy will obliterate and I will gladly accept it. The beauty commercial product work I feel I find to be better because I have made more progress and contact. Find your niche and stay on it. A good shot photograph does not always sell.
This was one of the most educational food photography youtube video I´ve ever watched! So interesting and 1 hour went so quickly! Thank you very much for making and sharing this :)
Super interesting! Not too long at all, it whizzed by pretty quickly, and to hear your thought process as you went through and selected the images to keep was fantastic! Would love to see the portrait version as well, cheers!
Over the next week I am going to have a LOAD of content about portfolios and marketing going up. So hit subscribe and follow me on instagram to make sure you get all of the information instagram.com/scottchoucino/
Is this where the photos we submitted to you are going to be?🙂
@@jccarty1477 Some are yes. I had over 200 emails though haha. Going to make a few more if people like this one. Although it's a very long video so maybe I will do them in thirds going forward.
I'd love to see a video comparing European and American styling.
Let me see what I can come up with and if there is a way of working it into a video.
@@TinHouseStudioUK Articles are great too :)
This is an interesting question, I’m curious now too.
@@TinHouseStudioUK It would be great if you could tell us what is a trend now and what is coming, too! Thank you!
Love this, love the honesty. You are great separating the person from their work. I learnt a lot
Glad you enjoyed it!
I find informed discussions of photographs to be fascinating. Thank you.
Hey Scott, great video. I am really enjoying a lot this series of videos. Looking forward to the next one!
Glad you like them!
this portfolio review series is so interesting...
tbh watching this only feels like several minutes..
i'm waiting for portrait portfolio review, i think thaht must be interesting as well.
keep doing great work scott, much appreciate :)
glad it wasn't too boring. If felt quick when I filmed it, but long when I edited it haha.
This was a fascinating look at these three portfolios. It would be interesting to see you do this while talking to the photographers so you could ask them why they’re doing certain things, or how they’re taking their shots. Also, since you’re going to be looking at other genres with portrait work, I’d love to see one on landscapes. I’d even submit my own images for that.
This was an awesome video, thank you for sharing!
So I'm doing the usual RUclips thing of discovering a channel I enjoy and then going through the back catalogue and commenting years after the event.
This was bloody brilliant! I hope you have done more of these, I appreciate there is a huge time commitment but this video is in my top ten photography videos on YT. Actually, it's number one and I can tell you I have watched a sh!tload of youtube videos ;)
Anyway, I applaud you for sharing your thoughts, expertise and direction. \thank you.
This was brilliant, I would watch more of these specially related to food photography
Even though it’s a food critique, the rationale apples to a number of other genres, extremely interesting, and should be watched by any aspiring professional photographer. The most important word to take away from this is enjoy !
This was probably the best portfolio I've ever seen. Was also pretty hilarious!
Brilliant comments and analysis bud. Thanks for sharing
Thanks John
20 minutes in and I'm gobsmacked at the amount of insight this vid offers while containing zero b.s.
This was really good, keep them coming.
This was great; watched the entire thing. Thanks to the contributors as well.
Thanks John, glad it wasnt too long.
GREAT video! Thank you!
just saw that - crop at 4x5 to make shot look expencive. gold!
Thanks for being awesome . I am not food photographer but I do appreciate all you knowledge and sharings.
Thanks, glad it was of some use.
so freaking helpful . thank you. really
I do not do food photography, but I have learned a lot from watching your cropping and general screening of pictures.
One of my favorites videos 🤩🤗
Sorry but you got me at the gummy bears look like they are crying, made me laugh not at the image, but i so did not expect to ever hear that when describing a image 😂
Great information. Good to see what makes a good shot and why. Only question I have is what does "wonky" mean. I get the general idea behind the term, but you use it a lot and I was trying to understand what you mean as the term is applied very generally. Specifics would help, but overall great resource, as is your channel. Thank you.
Very helpful review. I know this was done a few years and maybe comments aren't being looked at but I'm wondering what the trademark implications are for showing the labels of liquor bottles in ones portfolio?
Wherever you're recording from has a lot of bird sounds in the background lol. It's quite relaxing, but initially had me looking out my window to see where the noises were coming from haha!
Hi Scott, loving the vid and the thorough critique. Question: at 19:00, the splashed drink, what was it you said that the photographer should be doing? I didn't quite catch your wording. Thanks.
you can reset brush settings all at once if hold option and click reset which appears instead of "effect"
Hi Scott, thank you so so much for all of these videos. they are so refreshing compared to some other youtubers advice, especially over in our side of the world. Im curious if you have any detailed videos or blogs on how exactly a food or commercial photographer should actually charge in the UK & Ireland? I ask as someone who was a in-house photography on a salary who went out on their own now. Thank you.
Hey,
Thanks for the kind words. I don't have anything yet, but I will have in the near future.
Great review Stott! Can you make a video about pricing and licencing with real world examples?
I have one coming up. I filmed loads this weekend so it will be up in the next couple of weeks :D
You got a sub from me. Very informative.
As an FYI, when you want to crop to the center, if you hold Alt, it brings all of the corners towards the center of the photo.
Super helpful!
BUT, what are t scores? ( 18:59)
Interesting dude, you.
It wasn't long at all. I could've gone for another hour. Great review!
Wow must be nice to have images the only experiences with a camera i had was photography classes in my secondary school because we aren't the richest family and now i can't even take pictures with my phone sad times
I can relate, getting into photography was super hard for me too as I didn't have any money at the start to buy a camera with. I ended up borrowing one haha.
"The 3 gummy bears look like they're crying" - HAHA :')
Great video! I'd love to be a part of the portrait video. Is there somewhere to send images for that?
Hey, if you email it over to me via the email address on my website or in my bio here that'd be ace.
This last portfolio is based out of the US, probably Texas or Florida (Tijuana Flats is the tip off)
“This coffee looks like sink water” 😂😂 it’s not just the beans that got over-roasted ey ey ey
Honestly couldn’t stop laughing at the “cooking not photography” tips 😂 sauce looks a little heavy, pasta overdone and sauce looks a little heavy 😅 dang
The gummy bears look like they’re crying! 😂 you should do standup
😂😂 “this is a no because it’s not a good photograph”
Is it really ok to use name brand products in your published portfolio? Seems like you would need permission.
