THE BEST WAY to scan these slides in.
Get your scanner and a large digital tablet, set a white image and turn the screen up to 100% brightness.
Then Lay your old slides on the scanner face down and place the screen over the top of them.
Finally scan in at the highest colour DPI no need to go over 600.
If you have any editing software crop to size then use the auto colour, tone and brightness once each.
Saved to your ideal format.

What are you referring to as your ‘scanner’? You are saying put the slides face down on what-your phone as scanner? Then place the screen (Ipad at high brightness) on top of it? How will you control the scanner-if I understand what you are referring to as your scanner, then I could follow the technique.
