I have the G1XOn, the precursor to this model. I love the sound of it, for such a cheap pedal, and those can still be had for cheap, new or used. I honestly turn the gain down, and run it in front of tube preamps from ART run into a power amp, or in front of a clean tube amp. Sounds beast for what it is. It can also run on a run of the mill stomp box power unit; I use a few other stomp boxes, as well as a DI box micro pedal, and they are all run off of the same iSpot multiadapter.

Fastest - chug - ever! I like the zoom Sound and Video recording stuff. Simple as can get, efficient, good quality. And it is well built, lasts forever.
BOSS, EHX, Digitech and ZOOM are stellar manufacturers and are really technologically excellent too. I can't help but constantly admire their superb innovations and do also take care of their stuff I have now, with Surge protection too always, because, you never know when they might discontinue an "obsolete" unit that you took for granted and then later realize it is Superior to the newer "better" stuff. It happens all the time.
I have one of these, I love it. Lately I've used it to dial in A. a halfway decent David Gilmour lead tone B. A spot on Flock of Seagulls Delay sound and C. a Love and Rockets fuzzed out overdrive buzzsaw sound. Once you can edit your own pedal board and patches you're good. The presets are ok. I used the Fuzz overdrive one to play some Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock." I had to turn the gain on my Vox amp down a lot because the preset was so gonzo, but you can adjust that too. For the money I paid it's worth the money for messing around at home. The "Barracuda" preset is such fun, too. I don't like that it doesn't have an on/off switch, but the batteries last a while unless you use it all day long. The expression pedal is ok. It's weird, my Vox VX50 amp has at least three high gain models built-in, they're not bad.
ive had my zoom g1x four for about a year now. i got it "used" for $65usd. honestly, even tho i got it used from some guy off of fb marketplace, i swear it was pretty much new and maybe had been tried out, he didnt like it and then put back into all its original packaging and sold to me for $65. since i have had it, i have had an amazing time with my guitars. i have also managed to get a bunch of really good tones saved to it. i deleted all the factory presets because i didnt like any of them and couldnt really get any of them to sound decent enough to use, but i could setup my own from scratch and it really has been a good purchase for me. i use it every day because it really is so useful.
The presets always suck. To get the sound you want you have to edit them or build your own with available effects. Its not a 5k rack unit but it has the capability of sounding pretty badass. Had several Zoom processors. The GFX8 is the best one. Steve
Just want to point out that all the cabinet simulations (like the marshall one you were testing in the beginning) are turned off by default, even if they show up in the effects chain. I don't understand this design -- but anyhow the way to fix it is go into the cab parameters and turn "mic" to "on".
Hey cool video. Helpful while as I’m planing to buy this effect from zoom. Just a quick suggestion though, could you fiddle around before you make the video? Was kind of lost for first few minutes as you guys were figuring out as well. I mean it’s not an invoking video is it. Cheers
Honestly for what it costs, this thing is pretty damn good. Obviously you won't record an album with it, but for beginners it seems really good. I mean when i started playing these multieffects were just... well... i just say Digitech. :D
It’s a pretty versatile little machine. You can mix effects and create your own patches etc. I looked around RUclips and was able to create the effects of my favorite guitar players, some others I made them myself.
@Return of the Native Bandit 112's are perfectly useable. If you 'bought one and threw it out the window' all you've really done is demonstrate what a goof you are.
I have the G1Xon. Paid maybe 50 bucks for it new. It's a lot of fun. Great for traveling. You can get decent tones from it. Nothing spectacular but it gets the job done. I like the changes they've made for this version. Looks easier to activate the looper, which is the reason I got mine in the first place.
Good piece of gear for a beginner player to have at home for different tones and just having fun but that's where it stops. Cool video though and good review.
Thanks to Ola i manage to get a nice Chug from my Zoom g1 four and my Orange 35LDX. Didnt think it was possible and i was so close to order a new pedal. Now i can unlease Hell :)
Looks cheap but sounds good. I like that it has knobs and a pedal. I honestly didn't know if Zoom was still around. I used to use a 1010 i bought in the late '90s and ran thru a red stripe Peavey SP112 i paid $150 for in '03.. This could cover alot of ground.
That is the Ultimate Challenge for ANY Pro guitarist, to make a cheap Line 6 amp sound good! LMAO After all, it is not the gear right? It is ALL in the hands. SUURREE!!
"I dont know how to work this thing." Might be a good idea to figure that out before doing a review. It makes the pedal look more difficult to use than it really is. However, it was funny to watch and made me laugh, so that trumps giving a review on something you dont know how to work. If all your videos are like this I will definitely subscribe. Without a doubt the guitarist is a cool cat.
Well that's the will it chug format. There are more conventional prepared demos out there if that's your thing. I think many of us enjoy watching Ola trying to figure it out. Btw I just got one of these. I love it but wouldn't describe it as intuitive

This is a great little pedal, this isn't a fair shake. They really should have taken some time to read the manual and play with the computer software that makes it much easier to program new patches. I paid it's worth the money for messing around at home. The "Barracuda" preset is such fun, too. I don't like that it doesn't have an on/off switch, but the batteries
last a while unless you use it all day long. The expression pedal is ok. It's weird, my Vox VX50 amp has at least three high gain models built-in, they're not bad.
Wow zoom pedal boards, that takes me back 20 years lol
6:45 LMAO that was spot on black betty
Your paying friend finally spoke!!
i own one of these and its amazing value. especially since i am a beginner, it fits my needs perfectly.
Maybe this is the best Ola’s video ever. Truly! Enjoyed so much 🤘🏻
ive had my zoom g1x four for about a year now. i got it "used" for $65usd. honestly, even tho i got it used from some guy off of fb marketplace, i swear it was pretty much new and maybe had been tried out, he didnt like it and then put back into all its original packaging and sold to me for $65. since i have had it, i have had an amazing time with my guitars. i have also managed to get a bunch of really good tones saved to it. i deleted all the factory presets because i didnt like any of them and couldnt really get any of them to sound decent enough to use, but i could setup my own from scratch and it really has been a good purchase for me. i use it every day because it really is so useful.
Ahahahah I lost it at Black Betty. Also this sounds way better than the last Zoom product I used a million years ago in high school.
I laughed out loud at Black Betty!
Appreciated!
I know ppl shit a lot on these pedals but a Zoom pedal and a Fender Squier was how I started at 13, this bring back some memories

I love your channel lmao. Didn't expect to randomly see your comment
OMGOMG IM BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. HELL YEAH OLAAAA
7:21 when you accidentally discover the sound of Immortal.
Hey cool video. Helpful while as I’m planing to buy this effect from zoom. Just a quick suggestion though, could you fiddle around before you make the video? Was kind of lost for first few minutes as you guys were figuring out as well. I mean it’s not an invoking video is it.
Cheers
That sounds oddly good for the price. Zoom has somehow done it again
Sounds decent tbh.
Better than alot of high end stuff.
Used to love my zoom g9.2tt with dual tubes and 2 in 1 exp pedal
Honestly for what it costs, this thing is pretty damn good. Obviously you won't record an album with it, but for beginners it seems really good. I mean when i started playing these multieffects were just... well... i just say Digitech. :D
It’s a pretty versatile little machine. You can mix effects and create your own patches etc. I looked around RUclips and was able to create the effects of my favorite guitar players, some others I made them myself.
I just bought this thing and I'm super excited to play with it
Hey please do peavey bandit 112!! Its a legend now
A silver stripe bandit 65 with a scorpion 12
It will need some help to get chuggy tho
& the Envoy 110 !
Bandit 112 with a overdrive as a boost in front of it. Is the king of budget amp
@Return of the Native i use mine in a death metal band, maybe you got a lemon??
@Return of the Native Bandit 112's are perfectly useable. If you 'bought one and threw it out the window' all you've really done is demonstrate what a goof you are.
I have the G1Xon. Paid maybe 50 bucks for it new. It's a lot of fun. Great for traveling. You can get decent tones from it. Nothing spectacular but it gets the job done. I like the changes they've made for this version. Looks easier to activate the looper, which is the reason I got mine in the first place.
I want to see a best of budget chugs video, that'd be dope!
Sort of OK? It blews my mind how great some of the presets sounds! Wow
Will the new purple body come on a type E? That would be amazing.
I like this guest dude. He’s chill
Good piece of gear for a beginner player to have at home for different tones and just having fun but that's where it stops. Cool video though and good review.
haha you sound like you are a lot of fun at partys , can you please tell me everything else i am doing wrong in my life ?
@@peteytwofinger go by a fortune cookie it can help you for sure.
That was fun
I had like 20 years ago a Zoom multi effect pedal, it was fun to have.
Nothing like reading the instructions.
Right? Lol. I like Ola but damn dude tou cant just start twiddling knobs on a multi FX box
Thanks to Ola i manage to get a nice Chug from my Zoom g1 four and my Orange 35LDX. Didnt think it was possible and i was so close to order a new pedal. Now i can unlease Hell :)
Please do the Boss GT-1
He has done Mooer GE200 already: ruclips.net/video/JGgbKy_SMfc/видео.html
Liked you guys were having fun... I just bought this through Amazon,
its awesome for the money.
At 100$ though it would not be waste to get two and hook them together.
this sounds way better than I ever would've thought
Metallica riff? DEMONITIZED 😂
I got one awhile back, to me it sounds way better than my nux-300, job while done zoom
That's the difference between a pro & an amateur. Ola instantly recognising that there's a cab simulation going on.
Have you done "Will it chug?" with Line 6 Spider?
That is the Ultimate Challenge for ANY Pro guitarist, to make a cheap Line 6 amp sound good! LMAO After all, it is not the gear right? It is ALL in the hands. SUURREE!!
"I dont know how to work this thing." Might be a good idea to figure that out before doing a review. It makes the pedal look more difficult to use than it really is. However, it was funny to watch and made me laugh, so that trumps giving a review on something you dont know how to work. If all your videos are like this I will definitely subscribe. Without a doubt the guitarist is a cool cat.
Guitarist with the short hair is the cool cat.
Nah I love his genuine expression.
Well that's the will it chug format. There are more conventional prepared demos out there if that's your thing. I think many of us enjoy watching Ola trying to figure it out. Btw I just got one of these. I love it but wouldn't describe it as intuitive
@@donovanrebbechi3334 This is my second Zoom pedal. After 14 years my Zoom G2 finally gave up. Theres a bit of a learning curve to this one but I like it. One thing zoom has always done well with is their noise gate. I think theyve always done well with their effects too. No doubt, Im a Zoom fan.
@@jamesnewton485 5 minutes with the quick start is NOT a learning curve, lol.
Robin is very funny!!! Good to see often...
Do the old DOD Thrashmaster pedal. The pink one!
This was allot of fun guys, thank you !
What was the song he’s playing at 4:50?
Ain't talk about love - van halen
This is a great little pedal, this isn't a fair shake. They really should have taken some time to read the manual and play with the computer software that makes it much easier to program new patches. The biggest problem I have with it is that the buttons are kind of uncomfortable to with with, it's easy to hit both of them by accident and turn on the tuner.
6:30 demonetized!
