- Watch this video to fly onboard Silver Airways’ Inaugural Flight from Greensboro, North Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee.
Silver is a regional airline operating ATR-72 Turboprops from Florida, the Caribbean, and the Southeast United States.
I was over-the-moon excited to grab a ticket for this service. I was even the first passenger to ever check-in with Silver Airways!
There’s not a lot of services or features onboard, but we’ll still explore them all.
We’ll even give the experience a JebScore! We modified the Lounge score to better reflect an Economy Experience by focusing on the Ground Experience with things like boarding, communication, etc.
Unfortunately, Suzanne couldn’t join me on this trip, but she’ll be back soon!!

I appreciate the fact that you declined to have them compensate you for making this video because people would feel the need to lie. As always great job.
And mentioned it. A lot of people just wouldn’t have. That’s why I appreciate this channel
I appreciate it too but since the airline knows who he is and knows his influence, he is more likely to receive their very best customer service experience.
I also appreciate that he turned it down. You do such a great job and are one of the honest straight forward persons.
@@GeeBee212 true but still like the transparency
Rough timestamp 1:38 .
I saw my head a couple times! I’m famous 😂! Always fun sharing flights with you my friend!
You rock! It was awesome to chat with you. Hope to see you again soon!!
Love that you're as excited about a super cheap, no-frills flight as much as that first class long separate bedroom flight you and your wife took recentely. Love these videos!
I like the idea of smaller regional airports I live near a small regional airport, and it makes flying to bigger cities much easier without the hustle and bustle of an international airport
Those people probably still haven't recovered from the shock of you declining the free ticket. 🤯 Your integrity for your channel is unrivaled. ❤
Thanks for doing more of these "smaller flight" videos! I know you had mentioned in the past that they aren't as popular as your first class ones, but for those of us who travel domestic and a bit more on the cheap...it's nice to see what they're like. Enjoy the next ones.
That’s cool to see that silver is expanding. Growing up in Florida. I would definitely remember them going from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas and Jacksonville and Orlando as well.
It's great to see smaller airlines with good equipment flying to "out of the way" places. What a gain for Greensboro, flights to BNA and TPA. Thanks for another sweet trip report.
Such a cool livery! Jeb you should do Avelo’s Inaugural flight from SLE to LAS in October! It will be Salems first commercial flight in over 15 years!
YES
I used to fly the B1900 and Saab about 10 years ago for silver. Very unique operation for sure. Glad to see they’re still going, I know Covid hit them hard and hopefully they’re getting their business in order as they’ve had a bumpy ride. It was some of the funnest flying I did in my airline career, definitely exceptional!
Silver is a roach. Won’t go away as much as you try
Worked with Silver Airways at Greenville (GSP). Mainly the ATR 42-600, although once in awhile the 72 would come. Loved it! For how small they are, they are so loud but easy to work with.
Congrats Silver! Inaugural flight very cool. And even better from your home airport.
As a Floridian in the situation, I am so excited because I can fly out of Orlando to Greensboro very soon
I’m glad you flew Silver. I was a pilot there for a long time and one of the first line pilots to get typed on the ATR there. Who were your flight attendants?
It’s such a great airline. Very small, family and service oriented. Thank you for highlighting them. I hope you fly on them again!
It's been years since I've been on a turbo prop! Glad to see they are still used
I too love the smaller and regional airports ... and the ATR-72!
I'm from Mebane but live in CT now. I always love it when you fly out of Greensboro as I miss that area so much! Hope Silver will fly up here so I can come home to visit.
I appreciate your honest and unbiased reviews and I also like the new addition of the ground experience for economy class flights.
I live in Nashville and THIS is the first time I have heard of Silver Airlines. I will be checking out their website as soon as this video wraps up.
I’ve been watching you a while and just have to say that your energy and enthusiasm is the realest on RUclips. Thank you for the great videos and truly keeping it real! ✈️ ♥️
The clouds are beautiful and the green scenery below.
As always, the content is much appreciated! Boarding a plane brings out the child in me every single time, never gets old! Flying to Boston from Texas in a few weeks and I am looking forward to it. Cheers from Texas.
Thank you posting this. I've been wanting to go to Winston Salem for a few years. I'm so glad there's a direct flight now!
Great video Jeb. Love the turbo props. I always appreciate how
transparent you are in giving reviews.
Not taking anything from the airlines you fly and giving your honest feedback. Keep up the great work.
As always, fly safe😊
These regional airlines are vital for the movement of people across any nation. Good to see your home town is now accessible.
Glad Silver is expanding! They've been serving my airport (TLH) for many years and have a great reputation.
Bravo on the transparency. One of the big factors that keeps me coming back for your content.
We lived near Winston Salem from 2011-2021, and now in Burlington since 2022. Love flying to/from GSO/PTI.
My home airport too and I love flying out of GSO! Glad to have Silver Airways serving us!
Thanks for visiting Tennessee 😊
Love that your doing Ground Experience now!
How fun! I always enjoyed flying on turboprops... Keep up the good work Jeb!
Keep up the good work man! Supporting these smaller airlines is key to connecting parts of the country that would otherwise be excluded.
Jeb you're making me homesick I'm a Greensboro, NC girl in California and I love seeing our town represented. Thank you for the awesome videos and enjoy your next adventure
I appreciate you declining the sponsorship. Silver has had issues paying its rent at FLL and has been on the verge of being kicked out. I hope they treat Greensboro better.
I have to say Jeb, you are one of the most articulate and polite people I’ve ever seen. Forever subscribed! Also, showing my family your website as we love to explore new ways to travel😁
Very first aircraft I ever worked on the ramp in MGM was an ATR-72. A lot of people complain about them and CRJs, but they reserve a special place in my heart.
You do an awesome job - always watch your videos
I come for the travel and scenery. I stay for the watch collection. Thanks, Jeb.
Love your inaugural flight videos!!! Thank you!!!
Love relaxing and watching your videos on the weekends
Great change of pace
Another well done video. Thank you
Hi Jeb,thanks for sharing your experience with us, for so short a flight and the cost not bad ,stay safe
I love looking out the window from a airplane. So much to see
My favorite airline from Tampa to Key West! They are awesome, comfy seats and great crew!!! Not to mention its a beautiful flight leaving Tampa over the Gulf coast! Great video...
Awesome video. Thank you for featuring PTI...I loved flying out of there when I lived close to Greensboro.
Deregulation killed most of the true regional airlines like Mohawk and Piedmont. You could fly Piedmont from Wilmington to Asheville in a few hours with stops in Fayetteville and Charlotte. It’s nice to see regional flight service returning to the SE.
Deregulation reduced fares.
I Flew Silver last November from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale, and it was a good flight and I would fly them again.
Love your enthusiasm Jeb, the plane is very nice.
Great Video Jeb! I really appreciate you love for Aviation. It was good to see you and Suzanne on Airline Videos Live the other day!
great video and always great to see new airline up and running
I have binge watching all of your videos love them all really love your rail travel thank you
I love your videos. Not many regional mainline airlines, like Silver or Avelo. Gotta appreciate them.
Great review! Thanks for sharing
I am a photographer based at KBNA, I got the chance to catch this first flight in. Very cool to know that you were on this plane!
I was wondering if you were going to be on that flight! Glad you were! I experienced my first Inaugural Flight in June when Westjet came to the DC Area. Such an incredible time!
I was looking for my hometown, Johnson City, TN. Great video!!
Such a cool looking plane. Great review as always!
Being at a lower altitude the view is awesome Jeb!
Fantastic video as always Jeb!
I have been flying to Greensboro Airport since I was a child since I have family in North Carolina and grew up in California.
I live just east of PTI on horse pen creek. I keep hoping i run into you shopping one of these days. And yes this airport is so nice and easy to fly in and out of! Love it.
Awesome video as always but we missed Suzanne, please give her our best and tell her we were asking about her.
Huge thumbs up for not taking the money for this! Integrity is rare in travel channels.
That view alone is worth the ticket price!! 🤩 I generally prefer puddle jumpers to the big airlines. Thanks for taking us along! ✈️
I have work in Winston next week and almost took Silver from PTI to Orlando for a weekend trip. The price was fair, but as a Charlottean, it was a better deal to take Allegiant out of Concord round-trips to Orlando-Sanford. (Which I prefer since my grandparents lived in Sanford and I have fond memories of going to an airport board meeting many years before they added commercial service to the former military base.). As a veteran of old Dash-8 flights between Gainesville, Fla. and CLT/ATL I miss the turboprop experience with the fast loading planes and lower altitudes.
I’ve never been a big fan of PTI what with having the clean, modern, non-stop convenience of RDU on one side, and the American Airlines monopoly hub at CLT that at least gets you almost anywhere on the planet with zero to one stops. But good for you, Jeb, for repping your hometown airport. The growth of parcel services, HondaJet and hopefully Boom there are really good for NC’s economy.
They are really clever for working around the Avianca livery, i knew that looked familiar. Great little airline all around :D
Love it! Also enjoyed seeing you guys on Airline Videos :)
I'm from Greensboro! We saw you on a news interview, and have been waiting on this inevitable video to be released!
I live in Sanford, NC, so RDU is my airport. I haven’t flown out of PTI since 1999. Airport looks great. Love that front porch!
When I saw your video, I was really happy because I live in Orlando and it is a great no-thrills airline to go to the Bahamas and the Keys. With their great prices, I can make quick trips up to Greensboro and then drive to Charlotte to see my daughter. She used to live in Burlington and that would have been amazing! Hope they add Charlotte as a stop. Most importantly, Thank You for all of the awesome and informal videos you share with us!!!!
Nice video highlighting the ATR-72. I last flew on one with SAS from Hannover to Copenhagen early morning during the summer, flying over the Baltic Sea. Flying lower than a conventional jet let's you see so much more activity below. Like you mentioned you enter from rear, allowing you to get up close to the aircraft. I love the noise of the props on the ground as they taxi and change pitch, or when they shut down and you get that raspy lower tone and they wind down. It's a little more vibration and a little more noise, but not too much more than a jet.
Having seen Silver in the Bahamas and knew that they and Seabourn are related, flying up to Greensboro is smart for them especially in hurricane season and connected PTI to Nashville.
Flew silver many times from MIA to EYW (key west) many times before AA started using the CRJ. In fact at one time I was able to fly UA to KW on a NON STOP from EWR. The ATR was a bit more bouncy than the CRJ and was 15 minutes longer, BUT when you are flying to KW for vacation it is ALL GOOD.
Nice review of your flight and honest opinion of the service and aircraft. Now not only trains, but plane reviews ... how cool is that !! Come visit Tampa as it has probably one of the best airports in the country and lots to do here. Keep up your great videos.
Some of the best Aviation content on RUclips
Jeb you are a class act
I didn’t know you were a Greensboro native. I grew up there and my dad was a big booster of PTI when he was working at the Daily News. It’s nice to see the airport getting more use. It was a great place to grow up.
I seen this airline and similar planes fly over my house several times. It would be fun to fly that route one day and see my area from up their. It’s cool to see the pink up there. They have pink and black planes too. Cool video.
Great job, guys! A transatlantic voyage is definitely on our bucket list. Oh, BTW. Don’t let the crew hear you refer to this as a “boat.” It’s a ship!
I really wish I would’ve been at work on the day you made it to Nashville! I probably would’ve geeked out. Team BNA!!
I love silver. I live in Tampa and they always have at least 1 plane there everytime I go to TPA. I flew silver from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa, Greenville to Tampa, and I’ve had great experiences
Your speaking style is so lovely and calm❤
I’m flying out of MCO to my home in GSO this Monday via Silver. I have to admit. I’m excited.
Reminds me of taking the Skybus inaugural flight from Greensboro to Gary back in 2008. Deplaning an A319 via aft airstairs!
I live in Central Oregon where our small regional airport (RDM) generally serves as our gateway to bigger places to get on bigger airplanes; most of the airlines fly Embraer E-175's or CRJ's (although Alaska has started flying 737's on a few flights). My favorite trips have always been on the Alaska/Horizon De Havilland Canada Q400 Dash turboprops. Sadly, they have been replaced with E-175's - which are, to be sure, fine regional jets (especially compared to the CRJ's) - but I really miss the pocket-rocket race car feel of take-offs and landings in the old Dash 8. Yes, they were a bit noisy, and, no, there was limited cabin service and no in-flight entertainment, but I have always traveled with my tablet loaded with movies, TV shows, and e-books, so that never seemed like a problem...Thanks for taking us along!!!
Jeb you and suzi q are so honest ❤ not many people would say no to free for thier reasons being "we don't need it and we are setting an example as a lesson." As a viewer I acknowledge your vision of free advice over free admitities. My family and myself love you guys always
I've flown with Silver as well. I've flown their Ft. Lauderdale/Tampa route and it felt good to get from one part of Florida to another.
Great to see some turbo props still flying in the USA.
What a wonderful video as always! Also nice to see my home airport of BNA get a new airline addition. :)
Looked like fun Great Video!
I grew up in Greensboro and had to move to Raleigh in '95 to be closer to an airport because I travelled for work. PTI is a great airport and I did my flight training there in the early '80's. GBO should have been equal to Charlotte but they waited way too long to build the new terminal and they lost a lot of time/traffic to Raleigh and Charlotte. Mostly I miss Piedmont Airlines. It was always nice getting on a flight after being in NYC or Boston for a week and having the flight attendants sound like home.
Great Jeb!!!!!
Interesting plane, nice to see.
miss seeing your better half, great video
Great video Jeb. I'm happy that you didn't allow the airline to possibly persuade your opinion on them but you were able to buy your own ticket.
At the end of the video we got to see "Counter Airlines" maybe they will be a new video coming soon to a RUclips near us.
PTI is my favorite airport because it is laid back and not as stressful. Thank you another informative video. I have friends in Nashville and I might try this airline just to avoid Atlanta!!!
More airlines are always better. Love it.
Great job guys
