      @@sanuagarwal8618 Dear Sanu,
Nehru made reforms to reduce the power of the army. So the person above is correct. Nehru is the one to thank for our democracy.
And when it comes to Nehru's other decisions, I wont claim that everything he did was golden. There were some mistakes but a lot of the foundation of our democracy is owed to him. You must understand the cultural differences between all different Indian states and the pressure to get back all the princely states. Only an exceptional person and an exceptional team can do this. He was an excellent statesman who understood the importance of drafting a constitution as early as possible. Pakistan struggled a lot with constitution and even when it finally drafted one, it couldn't guarantee a democracy independent of army interference and equality.
Your prejudice might be due to the anti-Nehru/Gandhi propaganda ran by the current ruling party. They like to boost the Nehru/Gandhi mistakes but never admit to all the great things that happened under the leadership.
Always learn to question things and seek answers for yourself. We are a civilization of seekers and learners. Not blind followers.

A great video with factual picture (thanks to Dr. Ahmed's research and dedication) about the events that lead to the Kargil fiasco. This video comes on Pandit Nehru's birthday - a man who was one of the greatest statesman of his times. I hope Pakistan and its citizens realize that India has never violated the Radcliff Award unlike Pakistani establishment which has violated the borders many a times that lead to many wars and uncountable skirmishes. India was offended and deeply hurt in 1999 when the heights were illegally captured by Pak Army esp. when our erstwhile PM Late AB Vajpayee jee was visiting Pak and looking for peace in the region.

Pakistan is still not realizing that it is under undeclared Indian sanctions and declared isolation campaign by India against Pakistan. 77 years of Pakistan's Kashmir policy had literally made it bankrupt but still it is not revising its Kashmir policy which is completely vague and doesn't stand against the India's narrative.

I really want to understand what Musharraf’s thoughts were. As a chief of the Pakistan Army he must have thought of (1) Indian might (2) what would be plan-B or C if attack does not go as planned. (3) India is a nuclear bomb carrying country as well.
My thoughts: (1) Pakistan Army didn’t think of options B and C. Which can happen only when only idiots were involved in decision making. May be because not many military executives may have been involved.
    (2) Musharraf might have relied on too much on Quranic thinking. Particularly, battle of Badr. In that battle Mohammad ( original one ) fought a big army of 1000 with his 300 soldiers and won. So Musharraf thought this may happen again because Allah will send for his angels to fight with the Muslim Pakistani Army against the Kafirs. And all the generals involved in decision making might have agreed with the decision.
In one interview Musharraf said that, “only when a small army beat a big army then that is worth Bragging about.”
