    Great video! Thanks for the shout out. I was always hesitant on getting the pol-silver blades because I just knew I’d love them and then wouldn’t be able to get them. Hehehehe

      Thank you brotha, sincerely. Very gracious gift and I'm super anxious to try them all. Yeah, they are very steep in price but I would definitely buy the Wizamets. VERY similar in feel and sharpness. Take care my friend, happy shaves💈💈

    Brilliant comparison. Looking forward to the Euromax and Willy's experience/thoughts.

      EuroMax did really well in the Futur clone "Q-Shave". Usually I'm a stainless blade guy but those platinums performed excellent. Thanks for watching and happy shaves💈💈

    Great video brother. It’s hard for me to determine right and left sides all the time on my patient because I have describe opposite of my vision. Loved the way you describe the smell of the soap lmao.
    Glad the wizamet worked man. For 250 blades I think they were about 50 dollars or so. Great price.

    Cliffs Of Moher is one of my favorites from Murphy & McNeil. I’m also a fan of their used marketplace. Great place to get High quality shave gear for less money.

      Agreed, great scent!!! Reminded me of running through the woods after a good rain. That's what a great scent does. Glad you turned me on to them and their marketplace is also a fantastic place to score some gear🤘🤘

    I just came from the grocery store not an hour ago and I just bought that Duke Cannon aftershave lotion. Also, I can confirm that Speick is a fantastic lather for a shave stick. I believe it’s pronounced like (Spike). It I could be wrong

    Pol silver was one of my fav blades like 10 years ago when i started DE shaving.... Then i had a beard for like 3 years and no razor touched my face and now I'm back into DE shaving and sad to see pol silver are gone or crazy priced! Good to see Astra are still fairly priced but all blades have gone up. Treet silver is my secret weapon tho! They just work for me.

    These blades are from Poland. They are now made by Gillette. pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizamet

    Great video. Here is a bit of info on the wizamet and polsilver. This goes back to the Soviet eastern block. Wizamet was a polish company and they made three or four blades. Their top blade was the polsilver. When the eastern block fell Gillette bought the wizamet company and eventually moved their production to St Petersburg. Polsilver has always been a very popular blade so I have no idea why they stopped using the name. They have been making the wizamet blade and is either a rebranded polsilver or looks suspiciously close. I’m certain Gillette had a reason for creating all this confusion but I can’t fathom why. I have become a big fan of the iridium coating on blades. Iridium is stronger and longer lasting than platinum. Hope this helps somewhat

      Marc, Great information. I have read that the PolSilver blades are of nominally different dimensions, and are slightly thicker than the Wizamet blades. Some claim that the Wizamets are longer lived than the PolSilvers, but that the Polish manufactured PolSilvers were the longest lived of the lot.
      As I understand it, PolSilvers were primarily distributed in Poland and surrounding former Soviet block states. I am led to believe that the Wizamets are distributed exclusively in Morocco. One can only assume that Gillette does not want to distribute such a long lived blade widely, as it would negatively impact demand for their shorter lived platinum blades.

    • @greg6162
      @greg6162 3 года назад

      @@ivermec-tin666 honestly it makes sense about Wizamet being distributed in Morocco. I bought a 100 of them on eBay and they shave similar to Astra Green’s IMO. I’ve never tried the Polsilver branded blade but I could see these being the same blade just repackaged. All my top favorite blades are made in Russia so it would make sense. Surprisingly even though they are all made in St. Petersburg each blade definitely has it’s own characteristics. From Voshkod to GSB’s they all shave slightly different but I’ve never had a bad blade from Russia

    • @ivermec-tin666
      @ivermec-tin666 3 года назад +1

      @@greg6162 I find Wizamets to be smoother and much longer lived than Astra SP blades. Maybe it's down to the difference between platinum and iridium. I can't go beyond 3 shaves on an Astra. I have gotten 9 out of a Wizamet.
      IMO, Perma-Sharp blades are the closest in sharpness and consistency, although the Wizamets are smoother.

    I’m looking for a new blade. I only have 2 at the moment. I have GSB’s and Voshkod (list my stash in a bad breakup…) and I just got the Karve stainless with the SB C plate. I’m used to using my Feather AS-D2 with my GSB’s so using the Karve C plate for the first time it chewed up my face with a new GSB blade. Now this is ALL MY FAULT, as I gave this razor no respect. I should have used a Voshkod blade for the first time using any razor. I think that will be my go to from hear on out. Feather blades are expensive and I would only use them in my Feather razor. I’m thinking of getting a tuck of Feathers for my Feather AS-D2 but I tend to chuck blades after 1 use out of shear laziness. The only thing I don’t like about GSB’s is the glue placement is too close to the blade edge. I’ve been looking to try Polsilver’s but they are nowhere to be found and the Wizamet are available at $30 for a 100 pack. It’s expensive because they’re in such demand do to Polsilvers being discontinued. Been looking into the Nacet blades as they are very cheap and highly regarded but don’t have any coating. Should I go Astra Green or Nacet… or just get the feathers as they would be a good balance from what I have. Voshkod (for comfort) GSB (for comfort with sharpness) and then I would have the Feathers for use in just my Feather razor? Sorry for the rant good video

    • @ruhtraselwonk
      @ruhtraselwonk  3 года назад +1

      Greg, really can't go wrong with Nacets. But to be fair, any blade can/will give a great shave. When I first started out I thought that a certain blade caused bad shaves. Turned out, bad habits caused bad shaves. Just be patient with trying a new blade. Sometimes the first use is not as good as the next few. Feathers are expensive, no doubt. And with PolSilvers being discontinued and WizaMets replacing them. I would go Nacets if I had to choose. I'd also recommend looking at tryablade.com. Great place to find and try different blades for cheap. They sell them individually so you can try multiple ones. Either way, have fun and enjoy the process brotha. Happy shaves💈💈🤘🤘
      And don't worry about the "rant". I enjoy a great conversation👍👍

      @@ruhtraselwonk well, I decided to broaden my stash of blades. I bought 100 Wizamet Super Iridium, 50 Nacets, 50 Feathers and 50 Kai blades (which have to writing strangely) but are very smooth. I do like the Wizamet Super Iridium better than the Nacets so I’m glad I got 100 of them. I should be set for blades for awhile. I love that the Wizamet’s don’t have the glue marks as my GSB’s. I pretty much have a blades for all situations. Also, bought the B plate for my Karve stainless although I wish would’ve gotten a longer handle than the 3” but it’s still a great razor. If I need a mild shave I can just use my Feather AS-D2 which is still probably my favorite razor at the moment

  • @ararmino

    Gillette Silver Blue and Nacet are the same blade. Polsilver and Super Iridium are the same blade as Nacet, only chrome-plated. Polsilver and Super Iridium are exactly the same blade.

      I agree. I'm finding that more often than not, blades generally perform the same to me. Guess my technique is improving. Thanks for the comment brotha. Happy shaves💈💈

    • @greg6162
      @greg6162 3 года назад +2

      I like how the Nacet blades don’t have terribly placed glue dots like the GSB’s do. I picked up 50 Nacet blades and they’re very similar but I know GSB’s are a slightly thicker DE blade than most. I do like the Wizamet Super Iridium’s the best so far but I haven’t had many shaves with each as I just got in a bunch of new blades. Wizamet, Nacet, Kai and my trusty Feathers. So far I love them all. The only blades I really don’t like are Derby Green, Gillette Yellow and Shark blades. The Derby Greens were good for the first shave. But now I tend to use a blade once or twice and chuck it after except for Feathers and now the Kai blades.
