I got my Jazz from here tf-direct.com/deposit-only-aoyi-mech-ls-18-p3204.html What are your thoughts , do we prefer the blacked out windows and paint scheme even though we loose the die-cast in those feet? Fair trade?
This is getting more common, with more and more 3rd parties making upscaled KOs. BMB and the later Weijiang were great examples. (In fact LS 18 was made by a company owned by BMB).
I think this figure is an example of Hasbro making great designs but skipping on the paint; this figure shows how much better the figure could've been with just a bit more paint.
We definitely need more 3rd party companies. Too bad licensing is too hard and copyright laws make them hard to produce toys without being caught. After what happened to the late Weijiang, I'm pretty sure other 3rd party companies are very frightened to announce toys publicly with confidence. We still got some great KOs and figures from companies like BMB, UT, and AAT. I hope they remain unnoticed by others for a long time, and they'll give us more superior KOs and figures.
Argh I wish I'd known about this before I bought the official on sale at Kapow (And this is still costs less!) I don't get why they made the visor clear when it's blatantly blue in the film, it's like with each mpm release they go out of their way to mess something up, it looks so much nicer here.
The worst part is that this visor can be removed showing his true eyes so there is not point to the transparency. I understand the studio series figure since it had his face sculpted underneath the visor but here it makes absolutely no sense. Even the Prime One Studios Jazz has a incorrectly colored black visor.
The back for me is the selling point for getting the ko, the coloring of the back gives better proportions to the backpack. They original it's also very good, just needed that extra paint to seal the deal.
Trust me, if you are looking for a display piece you should go with the Black Mamba Jazz. The die cast doesn't really make a lot of difference, it is more usefull in joints that are meant to support some heavy parts of the body instead of the feets. I know that you might think that die cast in the feets is important for the weight and the stability of the figure, but you'll get a better stability on the Black Mamba because it has more solid joints.
With this one I think I'll get the original. MPM Prime was a disaster and LT2 was a vast improvement, but I do want to reward Hasbro/Takara when they do a good job. This KO doesn't sound like it's much better, if at all...
I've never been a fan of Jazz. But this one looks amazing. Gosh, I might just have to get it. Any idea if they're doing other 2007 Bayverse figures - like Ratchet?? Anyway, great review. The end is savage though! LOL
@@fred_lacroix622 They did one a few months after MPM 11 Ratchet was released. It is superior in quality, paint, and appearance. The cheapest ones currently are like $80. Not cheap for a toy its size, but you'll save $30 if you buy this one instead of the poorly painted official (some places like Ebay sell them overpriced, but a few legit stores such as Showzstore and Aliexpress sell them for reasonable or low prices.
really strange, I ordered mine from ali-express, but the pontiac logo was painted, the rear bumper was the different kind of grey however the windshields were tinted instead of clear. It has die cast in the feet tho... Im really not sure whether they acidentally sent me a real one or they've added on to the fake one...
Buying from Ali is like playing Russian roulette with your wallet. Maybe you get the best third party ever, or maybe you just get something totally weird.
It's just my opinion but I think the mpm is better than the knock off this time (which is very unlikely). The mpm car mode paint is better. The ko one have almost no improvement except the blue glass in robot mode. At least they should have make it bigger by a bit.
@@BensKOllectables i'm pretty sure you could tint the windows on the MPM and it would be better than that KO. I know you get samples and your sponsored by TF direct, but there isn't nothing going on with this figure that is worth supporting the fake one over the real. The oversized ones, I don't have a problem with because they a jist enough difference between them and official. The megs has a proper paint job.... well a little less harder to say yes for one of those ko's over the og mpm, but those ko are more visually appealing to the eye.
When a figure has an association with Black Apple or Black Mamba I expect some updates to the engineering of the original figure. Is that no longer the case?
Once again.. Hasbro being lazy with paint apps and cost issues.... The ko is just looking more movie accurate in terms of AESTHETICS and half the price... The KOs are getting better than the official brands.. Sad

Can you do an mpm/ko movies scale video based on TF official movie scale?
I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that the KO is more movie accurate than the official release.
@A guy with an anime Profile Pic Because I can Well he said "still" so this may imply that he's seen this type of deal before.
Bruh, the difference between this ko and the official isnt that much
Just a bit more paint and thats it

hmhhnnmm
>Owns two of the same figure
>Manages to transform them both differently for comparison
That's Ben for ya.
Just got mine today and it seems that mine is an updated version, the license plate is printed on and the Pontiac logo is painted red

Kinja Pleb Agreed
Kinja Pleb
No. The official figure has way more paint than the KO and is also better. The only thing the KO did good is making visor blue.
@@Mr.N0Name It also had more black on the body instead of grey, and the better windows.

Man I really can’t decide which one I like more. I like the tinted windows a lot, but losing the die cat kind of sucks

hi ben, may i ask what type of camera do you use on your action figure review? thanks in advance! :)

Yess!!! This is a must have!!
This transformers jazz looks amazing
Interestingly I picked this up and it came with the painted Pontiac logo and the license plate.
Mine as well I’m thinkin his might have been a very early unfinished production model.

Ratchet is coming from Takara so no doubt we will get a bootleg :) for now I have my iron warriors ratchet as a stand In

Is there a way to tighten some parts of the figure the arms and hands is kinda loose on mine

how is the quality? is it still a worth-buying figure?

thanks for the review! i might buy this figure in the future
Will they sell the head separate? That blue visored head is the biggest appeal of this.
Why is Megatron in the thumbnail
Edit: ohhh i get it now
Can you mix and match the legs with the original? Would it still transform?
MegaWillbot since it’s a 1:1 yes
Now all we need is a KO size mpm-11 Ratchet

You forgot to Transformer something on the legs.
These time the ko brand is much better than the original brand
They just released the Aoyi Mech Jetfire with Optimus Prime are you planning to do a review on him?
Ben, How does it compare to Human Alliance Jazz?
Does the plastic/quality feel better or worse on the ls-18
You edit these videos, clearly as you mentioned it, so why did you keep in the minute and a half you were screwing up the transformation?
Ben moment.
Wait I'm confused, the website says it's available for pre-order. Is it not out yet ??
Says the same for me but I wanna get this guy NOW
I've been looking in various sites over the last months and it is not available yet anywhere, most probably because of the virus.
Are you going to review ls-04s starscream bmb?
Possibly , I do have him
Nice review as always ben.
Will you get your hands on their over sized and heavily modified ss optimus prime?
I’m trying too :)
@@BensKOllectables well i hope you will :D
What's the difference between BensKOllectables ansld Benscollctables channels?
Is there any die cast on him?
One of a few times where the ko doesn’t look better than the original
Where is the box art ?
Damn seeing your ironhide up next to optimus i made a mistake buying mpm06
if you want an ironhide just buy thr bmb because the shoulders on mpm6 are loose and bmb can lock the shoulders but that doesnt apply to the mpm6
Mine can't spin the wheels, any of them...
Even that is a great robot
how much for the meg?

Maybe I'm petty and nitpicky but that unpainted logo throws off the whole look of the figure and makes it an easy pass for me.
Early production model, I got mine today and the logo is painted red.
is this a fake?
