- This is the ultimate country style catfish dinner. Fried catfish, fresh made hushpuppies, fresh made French Fries and homemade creamy coleslaw. Y'all check it out and give it a try. Fish, coleslaw and hushpuppy ingredients are listed below. Most of the items used in my cooking videos are listed in my Amazon storefront below.

Fried Catfish
2 cups butter milk
1 or 2 tsp hotsauce of your choice
2 cups cornmeal
4tsp salt
2tsp pepper
2 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp cayenne pepper
4 (6 to 8 oz) catfish fillets
2 quarts peanut or vegetable oil for frying
Basic Creamy Coleslaw
1 medium head green cabbage quartered, cored and shredded
1 carrot shredded on box grater
1/2 small onion shredded on box grater
2 tsp celery salt
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tbls apple cider vinegar
2 tbls or more honey (to taste)
1/4 tsp pepper
Hushpuppies
3/4 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, plus extra as needed
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup minced onion or dry onion
peanut oil for frying
