    Light color is measured in Kelvin because it's the temperature of how warm or cool a light is. It comes from the old days when lights were all incandescent (burning filament) and relates to the color of things as they burn. The hotter they are, the cooler or more blue they look - the cooler they are, the more orange or red they look. #protips

    Thanks for your unboxing! The brand is pronounced foh-vih-tek, because it means photo video technology. ;)

    Cool video! I just ordered these today myself. You asked if we had any ideas, and one came to mind. The top light is called a hair light, and it should be a bit above and behind you, or to the side and behind you out of frame. That way it makes you "Pop" off of your background. I saw you had a wide angle on at the end, if you could get it a little closer and put the boom light behind and over you somehow I think the video would look a lot better! Great job setting it up, and you look very calm and natural on camera, good luck with your channel, brother! - Kevin Venture 🤘

    Hi, how is the lights still holding up. Can you exchange the light bulbs for 85 watt or brighter. Just wondering what the specs are and if I can go to Menards and get brighter bulbs. Thanks for your return comment

    • @TheAverageBeau
      @TheAverageBeau  4 года назад +1

      Hi there! The maximum watt bulb you can put in them are 85w so you should be good, though I would probably go with LED or a cooler light as there are 11 bulbs in the setup and it really can heat up a room. Otherwise the setup works great with my only issue just being how hot the bulbs get, but that may be something easy to remedy with a different type of bulb. Hope you enjoy them!

      @@TheAverageBeau Has anyone ever replaced in with some bright LED light bulbs, and would it give out the same or greater light. Would love to see some results with this? Otherwise I think the mechanics of the light itself is good. Most lighting kits like this might need a stronger light stand, and I have those. thanks

      The light tree I used before this I substituted with LED bulbs and I was getting better brightness way less watts it works really well. I got these mostly for adjustability and diffusion but would definitely switch to LEB went a bulb goes out, maybe sooner. As far as color effect with LEB that is outside of my knowledge Level but as long as you hit the Kelvin level you are needing I don't think that should be an issue. Additional plus is way less heat!

      @@TheAverageBeau Thank you, good to know. If you have 5 bulbs per each softbox, is there a LED bulb brand and what watt would you recommend? And again thank you, I think LED are the way to go with these type of Softboxes.

    • @TheAverageBeau
      @TheAverageBeau  4 года назад

      The LED ones usually show equivalents on the box I'm not to partial to a brand but GE is always good but not cheap. I tink the equivalent wattage is like 10-20 watts with LED.

  • @joonajks

    Have you change the bulbs to LED bulbs, if so which watt LED bulbs are you using?
    Are you using all of the five bulbs in each soft boxes to light up your videos?

    • @TheAverageBeau
      @TheAverageBeau  3 года назад +1

      I haven't replaced them yet. The bulbs it came with are actually CFL if I remember correctly. I will probably switch them to LED here soon. You want to look for lumens or brightness rather than watts. And I would shoot for 1000 lumens or brightness for the white light effect. The watts will very based on what the bulb is made out off, and mostly matter so you don't over load the equipment you use. If you are using LED they are super efficient and you will get significantly more lumens or brightness per watt. Hope that helps!

    Hola. Thank you for your effort, but it did not helped me much. You took a lot of time when taking the things out of the box, something that did not need much explanation, but when assembling the parts you did it fast without any explanation?!!!
