Dude this is Jonny Rzeznik of The Goo Goo Dolls. He's spent the last 30 years playing this at festivals and stadiums. He left the bar scene behind a long time ago.
I remember hearing this song for the first time back in '95. For some reason, it just made me emotional. I was just a kid. I'm not sure why I felt that way. It was a great song and still holds strong till today. ❤❤❤
This song got me hooked on the GGD! So catchy! It made me go and buy their previous cds Superstar Carwash and Hold Me Up. Then they did Dizzy Up the Girl and that broke them open to all the world!
I just watched them when they played this for the first time in 95 and now this Man what a surreal moment of what father time does and how fleeting it all is.
That’s so cool!!! Guy killed it up there! This song will always be special to me I learned this song to save my life I bought my first guitar and learned this song and iris was second I was so focused on playing I got away from suicide.
Pretty awesome..talk about stage fright lol you're on stage with a for sure awesome band..and singer..and you're just a adverage person..but he handled it like a boss
It's always funny when the performer invites a random fan on stage and when the fan starts doing well the performer gets a little butt hurt and starts making random stupid comments and tries to interrupt the flow.
I found it very funny. He even said at the end (I had stopped filming), "Okay, now wash my guitar!" I would have preferred to see Johnny play it himself, but oh well.
Dudes a legend for letting a fan on stage for that
Absolute Legend!
That’s being humble and truly appreciating your fans
The fan had no mic, had he ?
30 years, don't they go by in a blink.
They sure do. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'll probably do both.
Yeah they do. I was a junior in high school when they were big. Time flies but seems just like the other day.
I love how his face goes from “I don’t want to fuck this up “ serious to total confidence and straight grooving
I was nervous for him, but he got more comfortable and confident as it went along!
You just know this guy had spent the last 30 years playing this at bar gigs as a side hustle and this is a dream come true.

@@alexraia1377 I think he might be talking about the fan that got to get on stage and perform, but I don't know.
This is the dream of every musician to be honest
Nearly 30 years later 1995 - 2024 this song hits different 😢 😑 🙏
Your math is off it’s been that long/longer lol
@@ufchighlights1 how is my math off?
Their first live performance for this song was in 1995. It's now almost 2025 nearly 30 years later.
Tears in my eyes...so beautiful scenes that a true fan shares the stage with the musician...fantastic.
