Hi Greg, A Hog Ring Forum post which stands out three different steering wheel stitches used as decorative on the edges of car seats covers: Crosss stitch, slanted stitch and basebasll stitch. The first two would be easy to perform, just by interlacing a long strip of leather through the whole pre-made holes. The challenge was to replicate the baseball pattern as much as possible. www.thehogring.com/2014/04/16/what-do-you-think-of-laced-french-seams/ Thanks so much for watching these videos!
Labor hand in Mexico is not expensive. I do not know much about prices. I only upload youtube videos. A whole car interior in leather cost here in Mexico approx. from 500 to 600 USD In USA we are talking of 4000 USD approx...even more.

Very nice! I was wondering how to do a seat like the original Audi TT. These also appear to have a yellow edge dressing on the cords. So you guess also here the cords are many small pieces? imgur.com/a/Qiiq4FY
The design of the picture you sent is not baseball stitch. It is a 'slanted artisan stitch'. Things are much easier for this pattern. You do not need to cut small pieces. The edges of the lace can be painted to own taste. Process is similar to what is shown in this video:ruclips.net/video/cPbFJRn-voY/видео.html The same applies for cross stitches:ruclips.net/video/3Wf69UEFv_o/видео.html

Shoemakers use it a lot here in Mexico. They call it 'washer'. I do not know the composition but its odor is like benzine.
