I love The Hot Current and I always look forward to it. However, for so long, I have had issues with the show to where the hosts don't usually "think" of how important this show is to the students in colleges and universities world over. It is very difficult for a student to use what is said on this program as real evidence because the hosts take it as a discussion would have with someone at a bar. The hosts are barely ready for it and do not cite their outside sources, something that, maybe, morden universities do not accept. Much as I was not in agreement with The Minister, he seemed to challenge the hosts to produce evidence of what they wanted to ask him. I know the hosts, more specifically, Brian Banda, is educated enough, he should take this as a learning process and always cite his sources when asking the people 'he' invites to the show. This program has been a wonderful addition to Malawian programs but if it was done the right way, it could do much better than it has already done. Let members of parliament use it as a source of evidence in parliament. Let people sue one another using this program to change the face of Malawi. That cannot happen if the discussion is only done as a casual discussion. I was impressed seeing the minister showing his notes on things because he is an educated fellow who knows not to say something on a national television without evidence. Fox News in America paid big money for spreading false news without proper evidence. Please, Times Television, let your producers cite their stories or use the word "hypothetical" so some of us can really know if it's worth it or not.

Smallholder farmers are failing to extend their farm sizes due to high level of dependence on AIP same way as we depend much on foreign Aid. Teach more farmers on how they can manufacture mbeya fertilizer and do some extensions to their farms..

...I really wonder why the anchor seems to be touting this guy a if he has some extra-ordinary skills and talent. What does nyama zikulu-zikulu mean? Lets not get excited and worship the same people who are promoting poverty amongst us. And I think we are micro-managed by Rwanda and collecting kickbacks by hunting refugees that he still seeks to kill. Well, I look at it as the most stupid thing for us to be proud of having more AIP beneficiaries. Instead of graduating these subsistent costly farmers into viable and productive citizens….on the US ambassador, I have never seen an ambassador who enjoys strange diplomatic protocol. He even finds himself in locations eating mandasi with locals, now, if he enjoys that freedom, then it is not a problem if he decides to walk into a media house as a news source. After all, the Malawi economy is surviving on debts, loans and credits that he approves every week, perhaps every day…The problem in Malawi is lack of ambitious leadership. We, currently do not have anyone fit for the position he holds in this government apart from the female ministers.
As for Brian and your colleague, I think you lost direction on the main theme of the program. Next time try to stick to what has been prepared, not flowing by the emotions of the visitor.
