If I could give you advice from someone who works at a Subaru speed shop. Get the next gen flex fuel kit as well as a fuel pump and intake. You will make 350 WHP
A custom downpipe with dual GESI cats is the best route in my opinion. Expensive, but worth it. Due to the EPA being an absolute pain, many companies have stopped selling downpipes indefinitely.
I agree with everything but when it comes to the 400WHP you could keep the stock headers and port them, 1. You know that it’s quality material and won’t crack like many after market headers. 2. You can make the same power. I’m running 400WHP And agree all the way to that point, another thing you could add for 400WHP is a fluid damper this would reduce the vibration at higher Rpm unlike the stock one that wobbles not much but enough to cause crank wobble etc. Love the vids Tanner

I've also been told that, and not often, there are miscroscopic pin holes in some Killer B pickup tubes that lead to the tube basically sucking air and not oil. Im just bringing these things up in case anyone has input to add.

Crazy how much more power per dollar you get with the Vb. Just need to invest in arp studs and STI swap the transmission to break into the 400’s reliably. Fueling doesn’t come into play until mid-high 400’s. Everything below 400 is just bolt ons and turbo upgrade…
Then stock turbo next to the garbage only sign. Green speed to me is e85 and more power. And that open source force pass readiness monitors… ya enable that and your good to go.
@ you definatly have to learn the process and overcome the definition file bs. But you can achieve great results with some time, the way to go is stand alone and real-time tuning, no stock Subaru ecm will ever compare to real time. With a stand alone I can achieve in 45 minutes what could take days re flashing a Subaru and logging to get dialed. I love how you always run a proper haltech. Although you should check out speedy efi in Spokane. They have a solid ecm and very comparable to the haltech. Considering, I beat (what I was told) was a stage 2 ~2015 STI. 0 - 60 pretty even but after 2nd gear the F just moved slowly away. Cool cars though. I want to modernize my fuel system to maybe iag fuel rails and id1050 injectors. My sti has Perrin fuel rails & Bosch e85 compatible injectors so it’s definitely time to swap them out and get newer ones. Would it be worth it to risk it and try to find a tuner who will do an update tune for me? Or go a different route? I love the ease of use and monitoring all my parameters on my Ap. I’m making a little less than 500hp on e85.
@ the 450 you recommended FP green and black... Is there a rotated turbo in that size category that is more efficient? I always heard the FP hotsides are the cause of the lag to peak power ratio. Dont expect you to remember me, but I bought the fp blue and killerb holy headers off you back a few years ago. Made 404wheel on 20psi w/93oct on a dyno dynamics... Still holding out hope for nexgen Flexfuel, i doubt cobb will ever show the GD chassis some love but a MF can hope for hell to freeze over...
How could I forget sir Rusty! Glad to hear the cars still kicking 🥳 I doubt Cobb will ever come out with a next gen for the gds. market for em is slowly going away. For 450 I wouldn’t go rotated, you can but I’ve never had any of my Blacks be laggy. 👀
@Smeedia after a season of autox I've decided to unhook the boost controller and just run spring pressure for the parking lot boogaloo. Feal Coilovers, and R compound tires are a hoot, any chance you make it out to autox this spring?
chiming in here but i dont think its enough for an answer so take this with a grain of salt. I commented on cobb’s post announcing nexgen for GRs asking if there would be a package for GDs. someone had commented no on in the thread and cobb deleted that person’s comment. maybe they are?? 🤷🏽♂️ just seems off that they would delete that comment
@@SoyRamii cheers to the prospect of Cobb following through 🥂 ...id brainstormed swapping to 08+ harness and ECU but it's probably more economical to just go standalone ECU after you favor the 08+ tgvs/air pump/exhaust avcs wiring needing to be added. 5k worth of Haltech and a lot less headache, but is it worth it to squeeze 70whp more out of the turbo? I don't know honestly? Maybe not, to just stay under the 500awhp, probably not, definitely... I don't know
How often would the Invidia downpipe throw the p0420 code? Like I know its not a code to care about but the CEL lighting up the dash like a Christmas tree drives me crazy lol.
Side feed suck so bad. The filters de laminate with any e85 and they stick open. Do the top feed conversion ASAP… or hydro lock your cylinders with fuel when your injector sticks open.
I recently got a 2016 STI that I'm interested in modding to 300-350whp. My biggest gripe with the car in stock form is its power delivery, it *really* falls off after about 4.5k RPM. What needs to be done to achieve more linear power delivery all the way to redline?
What’s the fastest spooling turbo for 400whp set up 360ish trq on stock engine 2017 Subaru Sti,grimspeed top mount intercooler (I know you hate them but I want the least amount of lag possible), killer b holly header, killer b hard inlet tubing, Cobb redline carbon fiber intake, plm 44mm external wastegate and dump tube, invidia catless bellmouth downpipe and ets non resonated cat back. Of course with all fueling mods done, upgraded the clutch and prolight flywheel etc. been looking at the dom 1.5xtr with the 8cm exhaust side vs the 20g or the fp blue. Looking for a turbo that can start boost really early and carry all the way to redline through every gear since I want a very reactive car and it’s my daily also I live in Florida.
I LIVE WHERE THEY DO EMISSION INSPECTIONS YEARLY. IM NOT INTERESTED IN BYPASSING ANYTHING EMISION RELATED. IF I GO STANDALONE WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO GET IT CHECKED BY EMISSIONS INSPECTORS?
My name is Joey, how do I get ahold of you I just got a 06 STI. I had a 04 brand new. But the new one has a bunch of stuff done on a stock bottom end I’m guessing it has between 400-450 but it blew up and I don’t know how to rebuild it I was thinking an RA block would be the cheapest way to get it running again I don’t have 10k to take it to a shop. But I would like to talk to you and ask a few question.
Hey looking at putting an H6 ez30 in my 2017 wrx (or an sti if its abit easier)... Wondering about your old set up when dealing with canbus, did you pull can bus information to be able to communicate with the ECU and haltec? Or did haltec already supply what was need because you were running an STI ecu and harness?
What up bro, are you going to do one for WRX??? If you do that would be awesome maybe be a potential customer for you to build a 500 WHP or the highest over build without using standalone ecu...I would like to keep the oem ecu, God Bless...
I will be buying a 2004 STI next month coming from owning a 2018 STI. i know that the 2015+ STIs were more sensitive to emissions and would throw the P0420 code a lot but does anyone if thats the case with the 04-07 STIs? the car js catless and im thinking about welding a 400 cell Gesi cat on there and im hoping its enough.
What's your stance on purposefully doing a d25 head on an sti bottom (257) for thr higher compression ratio? I'm only trying for about 300 wheel (and sub 3000 lbs) but I know with compression and a better equal length header you can really make the torque and spool down low. I guess at that point I'd need rods?
I’ve done it before, tbh didn’t really see any noticeable gain or difference. If you’re looking for or need a cheap set of single AVCS heads they work great.
@Smeedia I have a no motor car so I'm thinking I'll buy a ra block and to save money d25 heads? Refurb em. I don't smog here in north Georgia. And we are knocking on the 25 year rule anyways.. (state wide, 25 years old no smog ever again) so combined power goals and cost. I think it could be fun. Spicy little vf34 and sub 3000 lb weight

@@SoyRamii cheers to the prospect of Cobb following through 🥂
...id brainstormed swapping to 08+ harness and ECU but it's probably more economical to just go standalone ECU after you favor the 08+ tgvs/air pump/exhaust avcs wiring needing to be added. 5k worth of Haltech and a lot less headache, but is it worth it to squeeze 70whp more out of the turbo? I don't know honestly? Maybe not, to just stay under the 500awhp, probably not, definitely... I don't know
Anyone had any luck with the MAPPerformance downpipe? It looks nice and seems like a good price, too
They seem like good quality, I believe they also have. g sport cat 👀
Top feed is de way 🤌
It was not mention on the 300hp but I thought you need a fuel pump and injectors with intake a down pipe ? It was mention on 350. Anything change?
Where do I go for tuning tho? In Washington state. Josh is on the east side. I’m on the west side
He flys to the west side once a month and tunes down at forced induction motorsports 👀
@ 🫣👀 recommend a tune from him if I’m at 300?
I have a stock 2021 sti I want about 400-450 whp is my goal
I thought you needed a fuel upgrade when running a down pipe and intake???
don’t you need injectors for intake and downpipe together?
What about clutch? What do you recommend for a clutch pressure plate fly wheel, etc.
So would you say that making power now is harder/more expensive ?
NextGen isn’t available for 08-14 WRX yet 😔
Will you be doing another one for the FA WRXs?
I just got my first sti its a 2021 currently running the cobb stage 1+ ots map what etuners would you recommend to go with ?
Though I was clicking on a MCM thumbnail for a second lol
My build just got alot harder 😅😅🤣 I'll apologize now for the future tanner 😳
Could you get to 350 hp without fueling upgrades on an STI?
Where can i get a mounting bracket for my fmic? I got it used and it didn't come with one
I’d hit up the company that made it and see if you can order the brackets. If not you might need to make some 👀
@Smeedia might have to make some, turboxs wasn't super helpful lol
At what point should I consider going closed deck because right now I have everything forged but still open deck
Hi question regarding maf sensor upgrade my engine is ej20g jdm, any suggestion bro?
Stock maf sensor is perfect. Shouldn’t need to upgrade it 👀
Hey looking at putting an H6 ez30 in my 2017 wrx (or an sti if its abit easier)... Wondering about your old set up when dealing with canbus, did you pull can bus information to be able to communicate with the ECU and haltec? Or did haltec already supply what was need because you were running an STI ecu and harness?
My state doesnt have emission testing, would a new cobb access port still work without cats?
What up bro, are you going to do one for WRX??? If you do that would be awesome maybe be a potential customer for you to build a 500 WHP or the highest over build without using standalone ecu...I would like to keep the oem ecu, God Bless...
Like an EJ WRX? Everything is still applicable but would need a 6 speed swap 🫡
@Smeedia 21 VA WRX...thanks for reply i really appreciate it...Happy Thanksgiving
How much $ is the jump from 300 to 350WHP. Seems like a big jump for 50WHP….
I need a new rack on my 13 sti. Is the 16 sti rack ratio worth paying 2-3x as much?
I will be buying a 2004 STI next month coming from owning a 2018 STI. i know that the 2015+ STIs were more sensitive to emissions and would throw the P0420 code a lot but does anyone if thats the case with the 04-07 STIs? the car js catless and im thinking about welding a 400 cell Gesi cat on there and im hoping its enough.
HKS BoV mod works much better than crushing your BoV in a vice. Check it.
His BOVs always leak, they sound good but they leaky valves
Can you make one for the VA FA please 🙏
Can I run 2309 spark plugs with stock setup without gaping the plugs?
Yes you can 👍
What’s your stance on Mishimoto? Just wondering why koyo in particular for radiator?
Absolute trash, koyo, CSF are solid quality options 🫡
Does this video also apply to the new fa engines in the new wrx and outback?
is there any issue with the cobb sf intake pulling in water from the passenger side wheel well here in the pacific nw?
What about the Maperformace dp
