Ginuwine on the other hand didn't really have much leverage unfortunately not sure what their percentage splits were but I could see why they'd breakup over money with solo acts who could all hold their own.

I miss Brooke Valentine singing. A lot people slept on Brooke’s first album which was really good. Dying From A Broken Heart 💔 was my favorite song on the album. I wish she would drop another dope album soon.

Just to hear the beginning of her story was heartbreaking. You gotta be accused of sleeping around because she wanted to sing. So sad. Parents are supposed to pour into their children not tear them down.

Im a real brooke valentine stan. Loved her ever since “long as you come home”. I still remember her mixtape “No More Girlfights” lol. Aaliyah is my fav and she sounds so much like her. The fact that she got signed for doing pop/rock music made so much sense as to why “Chain Letter” sounded like it did. I remember someone referred to it as la meets texas. I feel like the lack of success in her career was due to to bad implementation. They should have pushed “long as you come home” and “cover girl “ as singles to atleast show that she is a real diverse artist with vocal ability THEN put out “girlfight”. Then there would be less of chance of her being lumped into the “crunkNB” trend that was hot at that time.
Bring her back for a Part 2! I know she has so much more to say. So inspiring and entertaining.

Brooke is a fantastic storyteller. The "Saying No Names" was absolutely unexpected. Brook gave the side chick the keys to the studio door that was under her Range Rover. All I can say is don't mess with a Southern girl. Despite her sweet and lady-like voice and smile, she is

OMG, my mother told me those exact words when I told her that I was moving into commercial driving. She told me that she hoped I would fail. I nearly cried. Today commercial driving has set me on an entrepreneurial path and I have more than doubled my income. You can't beat her calling me to help her pay her bills.

I’m back, I find it interesting that the men, including Tank, always had men give them thousands of dollars or a whole place to live (Yung Berg) when they were starving artists having hard times, but Brookes story shows that women don’t get that same support from men or women.
Brooke did end up crashing at ol boys place in LA after he finally obliged her, and eventually at a cost (becoming his BM-no disrespect at all). Very telling about interpersonal relationships amongst sexes.

And if they do get offers from men, it is usually expected to be transactional.
@@Anisha618 exactly. You see how Brooke had to pay London’s mom $700 to rent a ROOM? Nobody had any mercy on her. She literally had to earn her keep. Hell, at that time, she could’ve gotten her own studio in LA for $700. That was a rip off and I’m annoyed for her.
But Berg was able to crash on his weedman couch, Jamie gave Tank money and let him stay at his mansion, all because they believed in them. They weren’t expecting anything in return or giving them a hard time.
Nonetheless, I love what Tank and J are doing. It gets more and more insightful with each guest and I enjoy the nostalgia.
i hear you But it’s levels to this shit..Remember Tank is a 1 in a 1Million find Talent wise. He’s the General in this R&B thing for a reason!! Very few ppl can do what he does Master Produce songwrite Sing Etc …He’s of a different class the prototype of a different breed that ain’t been found yet. The closest peer he has in the game rn is kells & breezy. It takes a group of ppl/teams to do what he does in the studio!

At 16 she was out on her own with no family contact & that’s sad. Anything could have happened to her & they didn’t care. I still wouldn’t f w/my mother to this day if i was her. Forgive but I wouldn’t forget.

Her story is so dope , I know she went through a lot to get where she is but her story is a REAL artist story back when you really had to work hard fr and she told it so well I could picture everything she was saying like a movie . Definitely need a part 2
