    Thank you for this lovely tour of Drachenburg Castle, Walburga Schulte Wien. Your story telling was fun and most intriguing. The detail throughout the areas shown is very impressive. The noble lady's room and her companion's are charming. The gentleman's rooms reminded me of my great Uncle and Great Aunt's home in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. They were brother and sister. They never married. Their house was very much in the Victorian/Republican period. The formal living/reception room was always very dark, except when they were having a function. It was decorated very much in the style shown here. There was a room where games like Canasta, Bridge, Casino, and several other card games were played. There was a stunning fig tree growing in the middle of the terraced garden. The fig tree was my hiding place, i spent many days inventing wonderful stories and adventures. I remember a large leopard rug...as I passed the dark room, I would run as I swore the leopards eyes were looking at me, and his huge mouth showing gigantic pointed teeth appeared most menacing. Oh, those were fabulous times. Thank you again for bringing me back to long ago adventures in my happy place.
    I hope you are able to show the kitchen and other rooms in the future. Be safe. Blessings.

    Kidding aside, loved the tour and the tour guide, she seems like such a nice lady. The castle is absolutely beautiful. The views are breath-taking. All the rooms are sumptuously decorated. The choice of colours, patterns and styles are flawlessly executed. This makes every room look inviting and comfortable. Truly exceptional.

    I found this video to be most interesting and educational! I have always been interested in this particular castle, ever since I saw a photograph of the exterior. I must admit that the rooms are smaller than I expected but then houses and castles were built with very thick walls to help keep them warm during the long winter months! Thank you 😊 💓 ☺️

    • @hmvollbanane1259
      @hmvollbanane1259 Год назад

      It is a 19th century building, so doesn't have that thick of walls. I had the good fortune of having a private tour through some connections and was allowed to literally look "behind the walls".
      The reason the rooms seem smaller than the exterior is because there are entire hallways and staircases for servants hidden behind them. Every room has hidden doors, often even within the wall paintings, where servants could come out and disappear into without disturbing the inhabitants and their guests. Though since the servant part is not decorated and very functional it is not part of the normal tours as it doesn't really fit into the fairytale aesthetic of the lord's part

    Thank for sharing your video of a German castle. Love the design of everything about the castle and its history. I live in Germany with my family we live there twice because of my father was in the army so he took us around Germany to get to know the history of it . Some was happy then some was sad because of what Hitler did to the Jewish people but my father took us around to see many castles and other things like festivals with good German food and beer . No , I was too young to drink Germany beer or wines till I was old enough to drink but that was in the USA at a German restaurant with my husband. I hope to see more of videos of Germany.

    A "castle" built around the same time as this one is Schloss Kronberg near Frankfurt. Similar in size, it was the palace for the Empress of Germany at the time. As opposed to Drachenburg, Schloss Kronberg is now a first class hotel, where I stayed some years ago.

    I myself feel little disappointed. I'm almost halfway through and I'm not sure I want to finish. Most of this tour is of the tour guide. So much was passed over as far as the camera footage and imagery. I enjoyed the thorough explanation, However, she did not need to be on camera the whole time she spoke. I'm feeling dissatisfied as to how much we were able to see or actually able to enjoy seeing before the camera was turned back on the tour guide.
    I think she did a lovely job explaining and telling everything, I just wish the camera person had made better use of the time.

    • @SoChateauxTV

      Duly noted dear Carol Jean. I will try to film less the guide/owner and more the decors in the future. It's a recurrent comment (sometimes said in a better way ;)), so I think it makes sense to do it the way you (viewers) want, as these videos are made for you, not for me the camera man.
      I will change that for my next shootings from March (new ones will be published from April).

      I'm glad you understood and hopefully took no offense. Like I said the explanations of it all were absolutely fantastic and the film quality is excellent. I believe it's just the balance of on camera and narrating off-camera. Very much looking forward to your next project.

    Look again. It is an architectural hodgepodge. The building lacks direction. Pan across > Left wing is castle tower, then ridiculous dome, big Ben tower, right wing french chateau. If this building was a written sentence it would be linguistically incomprehensible. You will not agree with me but architects will understand. It is most surprising that it took 30 years to build a relatively small building. Remove tower, side wing and porch> a small building. Style is very nouveau riche and would be best set in America. This article is not meant to upset you. I am just giving an alternative view based on the visual image in front of me.
