Just an FYI. I own the 2022 version of this tablet. I found the box and looked on the back and no wonder the speed didn't seem too bad in your review, that's because it did get a hardware upgrade. My version has a 2GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM, and the new one has a 2GHz octo-core with 3GB of RAM. I'm pretty sure they had to make that change for the upgrade from Android Go on the 2022 to full Android on the current version. Considering it's still $99, it's not terrible comparing directly to the previous version. Of course competitors outside of the ONN brand might be better options. I use it primarily use it to read text books, so it gets what I need to do just fine.

Interesting, I didnt really think quad-core to Octa-core would make much of a difference in todays age of low end tablets, but it looks like it does. I'm also curious if the same specs are on the 7 & 8 inch tablets that I'll check out soon. Thanks for sharing!

I was looking to upgrade my 10.1 2022 model and the lack of upgrade on the specs is disappointing. I am not sure it's a fair comparison to compare the specs of the "normal" 10.1 model with the Pro 10.4 model though, as there is a 30% difference in price. A better comparison is to the 2022 10.1 model that this directly replaces for the same $100. It should still have even a small hardware upgrade though, as hardware prices in this space drops quickly as stuff gets older. It looks like the wait to see what the new 10.1 would be is over, it's time for the 11 Pro model as a screen resolution upgrade is something I really want.

These ONN tablets just seem to be marketed to people who just want a cheap tablet but actually know very little about tablets themselves.

Or people who know hardware really really well and know that this is adequate for their use case, so why spend more. Not unlike the mechanic who goes to the dealership and can come out with a low bill because they know exactly what to decline because it's unnecessary.

Or for kids who are going to absolutely destroy it.

Agree, really surprised w 3 gb ram. 480 screen. I get that it's supposed to be economical but there's such saturation of cheap tablets why not bump up the quality a bit. Shame. My Amazon HD 10 died just before a year old. Have a maxwest 10 that actually seems better than either. Thanks for info and vids. ✌️

Can I add more apps to the homescreen? I'm considering this as my 10.1 inch galaxy tab is on Android 11. No more updates for it. Also can I use my micro - SD card from my Samsung in this tablet if I should purchase it. I'm 65 years old so I don't need anything fancy as far as tablets go. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Is there no way around that 480p cap on youtube? Looks like the 10.4" and 11" (2023) versions aren't capped at 480p, so seems they're worth the extra money until they aren't available anymore. Other than price and older Android, any reason not to buy them?

I might have mispoken here. Videos should be playable at 1080p only on RUclips

@@UndergroundTech Oh, thanks. RUclips is all I'm concerned with since it's for my dad and he won't do any other streaming. Is there any reason to get the 2024 version other than having the newer version of Android?

Will this be fine for using just as an eReader for books, comics and manga? Not looking to stream or Game on it but maybe use RUclips every now and then.
