When you get older your knees will thank you . If it's never needed the added cost is pretty low and could actually add to the value of the building should you ever sell
My apologies if your overhead crane is also an auto lift.

My dream shop has been in my head for about 5 years so i know what the process has taken you. I must say a sweet result thus far. Looking foreward to seeing the insulation going in and the pex.. I have the space to duplicate what you have built here in Australia ,i am just curious if i have enough folding stuff to do my project here in one go or if i need to keep on saving for another year. I just got my land all paid for just as interest rates are climbing here so that is a milestone achievement for us. I know that you may be reluctant to talk about your expences but it will be of some help even if only to do a cost comparison. I've been waiting to see this for a long time now! When you first announced this building, I was in the process of building a post frame shop myself, and had to go through a lot of earth moving and build a massive concrete block retaining wall to get the building as big as I wanted it (actually, as big as I could get it, I would like the building much bigger 😉) When I saw your building today, I gave a little chuckle - your building is the same color scheme as mine! At least it looks that way on camera. Mine has textured black, and yours may be graphite? Anyway, if anyone is interested in building one of these almost entirely by yourself, I have a ton of videos chronicling how I did it. One big difference is that my posts do not go into the ground, they rest on concrete piers and are attached to large brackets. Anyway, I look forward to seeing how they finish your building! I'm currently racing the cold weather the get the interior heated - never a dull moment!

Incredible building there and great job documenting it! I might just have to copy this design one day if I ever get a bigger property to build a shop on. Very practical layout

Nothing like seeing a dream come to fruition, whether it’s yours or someone else’s. I finally built my shop 5 years ago and every time I walk into it I still can’t believe I finally have it! Awesome stuff brother! Glad to see yours is finally happening!

The new shop looks great, I really like the color combo. With that overhead crane, radiant floor heating and that much space it really will be a legitimate dream shop.

Contractors call taking over for a fired/ replaced/ out of business contractor "Putting on a dead man's shoes."
The avoid it for fear they will wind up fired, replaced or in court.

FREAKIN AWESOME Matt! You've kept us away from the site for a while now and I expect I'm not the only one who was happy to see this substantial part of the build in one video. You do look like the cat that swallowed the canary presenting this but just imagine how many people will be cheering for you from this side of the screen 😊. Well done and well deserved. Cheers 👍

Columns? Those are matchsticks, 4x4's are a bit on the flimsy side for a large building. Hope he has good insurance.

I hope you consider trenching a big loop near your new building and do a geothermal tube or two for your AC. It is too bad you can't run a tube down to the river and use it as a heat exchanger for the air you would circulate!

Matt, the new shop is beautiful. Can’t wait for the finishing touches. One good idea I saw mentioned is to put drains in the floor. Pipe them out of the building to a grease/oil trap to preserve the environment and save being fined by EPA. I was surprised you didn’t have skylights installed to provide daytime lighting since once the 4th wall is installed, it will be darker than it is now.

That turned out bigger than I expected, it’s really tall. But oh boy you must be as pleased as anything to see such a fine workshop go up, we are all so happy for you 🥰 It’s well deserved, and I’m sure you will enjoy your work even more now.
