- In this video I will finally be replacing my OEM plastic bumper with a Rugged Ridge Venator Bumper w/ the Overrider. This bumper is full width multi piece stamped steel bumper with a inset winch tray. This bumper works on both the Jeep Wrangler JL and the Jeep Gladiator JT.
With this bumper I am also installing a Rugged Ridge Trekker 10,000lb Winch w/ synthetic rope and Factor55 Flat Link.
Below is a list of everything that was purchased and installed in the video.

I really like this look and I'll keep in mind for when I'm ready to swap out my factory plastic bumper. Thanks for sharing!
I have the exact same bumper. Love the look. Alignment during installation was also tricky. For everyone else who may get this bumper, keep things loose if you can until you need to tighten them, or no longer have access. The fog light surrounding are tricky for me, one is super tight, one is super loose.
Overall, love the look of mine.
Yours looks awesome with the vinyl wrapped skid plate and hooks! I might do that to mine now!!!
Do you know if diode dynamic fog light bracket fit on this bumper
If this were made in America, it would be the number 1 after market bumper by leaps and bounds.
Nice job budy i like it
Clean look
Please share if you come up with an option. Definitely replacing my front end bumper with the rugged Ridge Venator after watching your video. Thanks!
From what I've seen from other videos for installations of aftermarket bumpers from various manufacturers, I think the lower outer mounting hole on both frame rails need to be drilled out. As I understand, it is simply a "thing" when going from OEM to aftermarket, and it is only that lower outer hole; the other 3 are perfectly fine.
Good to know, thanks!
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏.
Thank you for sharing
Funny that I only noticed now, when I was looking at your other video for the alpha spare tire carrier and the license plate relocate, that not only do we have the same rear bumper, but one of your other videos (this one) is the reason I first looked at the Rugged Ridge Venator. Only difference is that I went with the stubby variant. I guess fellow Canadians think alike, even I I havent lived in Ontario for 30+ years now. I miss it though. Florida is too hot during the summer 😆
Also, tip for future, if you ever need to remove the overrider bar. Go to your hardware store and buy some black metric hex-head bolts with the same length and threading. Much easier to get a box-end wrench in there vs an allen key. The fact they made us install that thing with the two bolts with no wrench room an allen-head bolt was just masochism....
Thanks for watching the channel, and glad my videos are helping you make some decisions. I actually am actually not in Ontario either, currently in NY. And your tip about that overrider is a great solution to that stupid design.
I don't understand the RUclips thing where the creator's vocals are SUPER hard to hear but then the music blasts out really loud.
I can't stand youtubers who start their videos with "HEY EVERYBODY, WHAT'S GOING ON."
Just start the video on the topic...
Yea, I get it they want music for some reason, and it’s their choice and their production. But I want to hear the person speaking and describing or whatever. But I can’t hear them over their loud music. And when I have mt ear pods in my ears get blasted so I turn it down then the speaker person is whispering. Maybe they don’t understand about audio levels and such. IDK, I just X out of them
I've put the fav fours stubby and it's made for a tank but sunk my front end dramatically and the winch sits a bit high for my taste this looks great, just quality concerns... but seems well made.
Thanks, yeah I only noticed a small drop in the front suspension, glad I went with this lighter bumper option. Those Fab Four bumper are nice though!.
How much did the fav fours weigh
Do you have the OEM LED's? I have the stubby version and I had to modify the bracket to make it work. It's a great bumper! I powder coated my tow hooks rubicon red for a little pop of color.
No I have LED fogs that I got off Amazon, they came with a bracket which seems to worked with this bumper.
Hasn't worked out so well for me.. Smittybilt 12k XRC Gen 3 didnt fit proper, had to drill new holes. And bumper has already rusted and i haven't even seen winter salt in North Western Ontario yet. Very disappointed.. Bumper ends are kinda flimsy so be careful of bumping them into things..
I have been considering this front bumper for a few months now. Do you think it would be possible/easier to attach the over-rider to that top piece *before* that top piece is bolted on?
Maybe, not sure though.
How did you get the inside part of the tow hooks wrapped? Were you able to get it seamless? “Seams” like that would be impossible. I’d like to do the same thing to mine
Did it with seams, sides first then did the front and inside all in one piece.
Thanks for the video. I'm deciding on a winch/ bumper combo and this bumper is on the short list. Are you still happy with both?
Yes definitely still happy with both, no complaints.
Great video bro….👍🏻…..From where you got the rubicon stickers please
pixeldecals.com, they are great to work with, they have a large section of colors. I did a custom one and they were great to work with to get the color I needed.
Looks great but is it leveled properly? Might just be your camera making it look unleveled.
The finished videos where filmed on a ramp so that is probably why it looks unleveled. I did notice that weight of the steel bumper and winch did pull down the front down a bit as I needed to adjust my headlights up a bit. I don't think I am unlevel now, I actually think I am now level as before with the plastic bumper my front was a big higher up.
I want those for my Jeep 4axe! Im pickin it up this week. Pls send me link where I can get those with the winch and all that 🙏🏼.. Looks Sick🔥
Links are in the video description.
Help me lot. Thank you.
Thank you telling use the price, most tubers dont
I like it I like it a lot lol
What are you using for the back bumper or are you keeping the stock plastic bumper?
Still trying to decide, I would like something that is stamped steel because it will be lighter, but not many options.
Instead of the override, would the bumper be able to take 9" baja lights?
Yeah I don't see why not, I have also seen people put lights on top of the overrider.
I'm trying to figure out if the diode dynamic fog lights fit on this bumper, and which brackets is needed. Please advise if you happened to know
I am not 100% sure but I think with those lights you get a bracket to fit into the stock bumper and you could use that for this bumper.
@@evolvedjeepin appreciate it, they just have 3 options, plastic for sport, plastic for Sahara, and metal for rubicon. All different sizes so I'm not sure
Is the full width bumper modular sp you can convert to stubby? Do they come with the stubby fog light surrpunds?
You would have to buy the stubby end caps.
@EvolvedJeepin thanks I was pretty close to buying this bumper but realized it didn't work with the oem foglights
@@AlanTrades it should work, the bumper comes with three different fog light brackets.
Going to sound silly but what tool are you using to install the overrider bar? I can get my bolts tight enough?
I just used wrenches because I was not able to use anything out because of the limited space.
@@evolvedjeepin yeah space is limited, thanks I’ll try that!
I cut an Allen wrench short so that I could fit it behind the overrider bar and tighten the bolt.
Is it the camera or is the drivers side of the bumper lower than the passenger side? Seems like the gap between the bumper and fender on driver side is bigger. Maybe it is the camera lens playing tricks though. Nice bumper though
Definitely the camera, both gaps in person are the same.
Does the bumper also come with stubby end caps?
No it does not, but you can order those.
I don't equate Rugged Ridge with quality. Parts I've purchased from them have been sub-par. AEV, ARB is on a much higher level.
Rugged Ridge has some good stuff, I do agree that AEV and RB are on a higher level but that higher level also means that they are also more expensive. I was looking at the AEV front bumper which was more then double the price of this bumper, in the end I actually liked the look of this one much better, which is why I went with it instead. If AEVs bumper had been the same price at this one I definitely would have had a harder time choosing which one. Anyways thanks for watching the video.
Bro what size wheels and Tires and Lift setup?🤗🤗🤗
I actually did a video about the wheels and tires because people were asking. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/TRtKigFRUi0/видео.html
Drill hole through ....for last bolt.
could you post the link to your vinyl wrapper ?
I do the wrapping myself, do you want the link for the actual vinyl?
@@evolvedjeepin yes sir
@@GavNguyen 3M 2080 S12 Satin Black 5ft x 4ft W/Application Card Vinyl Vehicle Car Wrap Film Sheet Roll a.co/d/cMoPAEC
question, Do you paint or powercoat the hooks ?
I actually vinyl wrapped them, eventually will probably get them powder coated the color I want.
@@evolvedjeepin Thanks. I rather paint it. powder coating not easy to touch up in case of chip. Paint will be better and easy to touch up in case
What company made your license plate holder ?
It was just an Amazon special, the link is in the description. It originally was straight I just bent it back a bit to match the angles of the bumper.
I was sold until the license plate frame, looks great other than that
Thanks, yeah wish I was in a state where you didn't need it at all.
That front license plate is a ticket all day long
Both for being bent back *AND* the cover over it.
I dont really put a front plate on my cars just the back and never got a ticket for it lol
@@gspotlight04 I guess it depends on your jurisdiction.
@@marceld6061 Im from Cali Newport lol.. I hope i didnt jinx it haha🤞🏽🙏🏼😂
Where did you get the grill? I love the entire look. Thanks for posting.
Any possible way to bolt this on a JK?
I am not 100% sure, I have seen people put JL stock bumpers on JKs, so maybe it can be done without heavy modifications.
👌👌👌☝️☝️☝️
What color is that vinyl Yellow or green?
It's actually a neon yellow, or that is what they call it. I think it's a green yellow.
I think the intro music blew my eardrums bc I can't hear you talking even at max volume; not trying to be that guy, but are you going to re-wrap the hooks every time you use them?
I added d-rings so I would probably never need to actually use the hooks. Also noted about the intro music, thanks for the comment.
install took 3.5 hours and for some reason the sizes are diffent from the video
Sizes? You mean the bolts? Possibly they changed some stuff.
@@evolvedjeepin yes bolts
@@fitzgeraldstoner2200 yeah they maybe change the type of bolts or something.
Is this bumper fits a jk
I don't think so.
the bumper was $99???
Last time I checked, it was 1099.
Let me buy your old bumper
Sorry already threw it out, didn't have any space to store it.
FIX THE VOLUME PLEASE! Nice work otherwise.
Looks very fragile 🫢
Not is pretty strong, I mean if you were in an accident it would probably get damaged.
@@evolvedjeepin I think of a solid piece of steel sliding over rocks, your probably just going for looks which is fine 😳
@@Bruce6001 yeah if your doing heavy rock crawling and using the bumper as protection, this is not for you.
Slow down!
Why does eveey RUclips make their music 10 times lounder than voice? Com on already.... make it not as lound or turn it off is better.
