The Italian AS 42 is an armored car that is a menace in War Thunder's lower tiers. It's pretty good as a tank destroyer and an anti-air vehicle, though it has absolutely no survivability.

The M2A2 is another vehicle similar to this one. It's a .50 cal on a much faster Stuart and it's really fun.

@@azbestowa7819If the LAC is god tier, I'd say the M2A2 is high tier. People sleep on it. You can do well as long as you don't rush in.
I absolutely adore this gremlin mobile. It fits so well with the other 20mms in the lowtier line up, making it feel like you have different flavors of the same vehicle. Giuseppe the gunner has eaten so much shrapnel and cannon shells, it feels like he's four crewmen in one and any solid shots will just go throw one door and out the other. By far one of my fav vehicles and as an Italian main, if I need some stress relief from high tier, the AS and the rest of the lineup gives me what I crave.

Hey Spook, I'd like to see you play the Stug III A. It's a really overlooked low tier TD that can work as a brawler with decent armor, good mobility and a quick-reloading point-and click heat dispenser.
I can attest to this. It's very strong vs low caliber weapons when angled, and uses a HEAT shell that can take out a 105 sherman from the front!

Yea, I enjoyed grinding most of them, they were all pretty good vehicles
I've recently been itching to play low tier after playing a couple hundred games using 6.7 Germany, so I went to use the M4A3 105, M22 and M5A1. Very fun combo in my humble opinion.
I think you should try the leopard 1a5. It has thermals at 9.3 and a laser rangefinder, also the reverse speed is outstanding and the APFSDS it gets is quite good.

Isn't it a pain in the ass at that BR? I would imagine dealing with soviets in that bracket is not fun due to the turms spam
@@webig1805 Its not too bad since DM23 and DM33 takes care of it nicely. Just remember to aim lower plate or driver's port. If all else fails, gun barrel and breech are always there.

@@cyanaquamarinedm23 can pen the UFP at decent angles, aiming for the lower front usually ends up in a fuel tank eating everything so there is no point

The Italians are the peak of this trope...their Autocannoni are literally _nothing_ but Trucks with Guns. They are the best at it; almost a dozen different models; everything from 20mm chatterboxes to a literal *4.1 inch Naval Gun.* I'm just glad to see them starting to appear in WT.

Try the Ab43, its basically an upgraded version of this and it helped me get all the way to 4.7 before I finally decided to use a different tank. Then ofc mid tier Italy (5.0-~8.7) is op asf
So the game allows you to drop bombs in a situation like at 6:46, but on multiple occasions it didn't allow me to drop bombs in a low pass because "you cannot drop ordnance while on the ground". Very cool.
this here was the other italian one I wanted to recommend to you, i recently got 15+ kill with it, but you should do the r3 103 (the one with 2 recoiless)
Hearing you say you like trucks with guns on top. i think the 'Lancia 3ro' is also something you should try. it being the literal embodiement of a truck with a gun ontop

I know a useful way of playing this one and its sister: Only take half ammo, then only the racks on one side will be filled, slap some branches and stuff on the opposite side and then use the car's mobility to always position yourself in a way that you're almost fully concealed by bushes while also not exposing your ammo racks to spontaneous combustion

Speaking of the Italian tech tree, surprised to see you haven't covered the AB-43 yet. Underrated ratty vehicle, nimble, APHE with 69mm of pen and enough explosive filler to more often than not one shot Shermans, Panthers, T-34s and the like from the side.
you should make a video on the mbt2000, i heard its very good for its tier. it has the dtc10-125 and has 31 km/h reverse speed, which is good for most chinese tanks
AS 42 and /47 are big fun. I had a game (granted, arcade) with the /47 and i sat in one spot just raining Arties down because i got so many kills to the point where i think i got 1 arty from cool down and the rest were all from kills and i just screened their entrance into A point. All you could hear was constant arty fire

day 97 : you should try the jagdtiger sometime. it's extremly slow, doesn't have a turret, gets uptiers all the time, and most importantly, you'll have to play with german teams. the very definition of suffering.
(i know he saw this comment, but imma keep at it until the Jagdtiger video is out)

War thunder needs to model the affects of velocity on armor bc it’s ridiculous that a round from a 120mm gun can shatter on a 5mm skirt when the round had enough velocity to rip through the tank if it was tumbling sideways

Lancia Ro 100/17 would be very "fun" for you, I am sure. It has all of your favourite characteristics: it is big, it is slow, it has terrible gun traverse, it has zero armour and its shell velocity is very slow. But hey, it atleast it has big boom cannon.
If you ever feel useless, remember that this thing has crew replenishment.

The other Italian car with gun is my go to! The 2.0 version of this one.

I think you should play the Cromwell some day. It's a very underrated medium tank imo, since it has some good foward speed, neutral steering and a decent gun.

I'm also an avid "truck w/ gun" enjoyer. Although, I think the more technical term is "Chadian Toyota Technical Experience" (I'm 100% serious about that, look up the Toyota War if you don't believe me).
Are they effective? Not always, given if someone so much as sneezes in your general direction you are screwed, your gun depression is usually not great, and your reverse speed is a 50/50 chance of being fantastic or garbage. But is it fun? Hell yeah brother!
10:45 it's because of the solid shot nerf. 20mm guns have a weird thing going on. Either it does nothing even if you have the pen or it kills the tank.
Came out of RB match once with 21 assists, 7 kills, this thing is a beast, until you meet people who actually use their mg's/planes.

BTV amunition on AS42 can not detonate, when its hit it gets destroid and you lose it but it does not blow up (i konw this from expirience)
This “tank” is the most fun! Me and my friends go into low tier italy and they always laugh when I bring this and the howitzer tank, yet I’m always at the top so I’m always the one laughing

Hey Spookston, you shoukd really play the Kugelbltz, it also is like the ZSU 57, it is real fun! Since it is basically a Pz. IV fighting with cold war tanks (it just has an autocannon that sends CAS to AAUGHHHN mimimi, somewhat…) so yeah! Play Kugelblitz plz
They should just add one of those troop transport trucks, and the guns are just the soldier shooting rifles, and maybe one or two with anti tank ones

We really need a Technical tech tree, just Toyota Hiluxes with all manner of weapons mounted. From M2 Browning & Dshkas, to Recoiless Rifles, to 23mm Autocannons, hell some even mounted helicopter Rocket pods on top.

I'd recommend the russian Zis, either the truck or the half-track. It's basically this, but with a bigger cannon.
The f6f-5 is a grate cas plane for its br. It has 3x 1000lb, 3x tiny tim rockets or 3x 500lb bombs if that is more your style. It is a bully for its br

Hey Spookston, you should play any Chinese vehicle with DTB-125 HE Shell. It is probably the strongest normal HE shell in the game with 5.46 Kg TNT equivalent. You are able to overpressure top tier MBTs in the right place. The lowest BR vehicle that has it is ZTZ96 at 9.3 BR (that vehicle is basically a T-72 but usually better). Day 4
