The Swedish L-62 ANTI II is supposed to be an SPAA vehicle, but with its 40mm autocannon at a battle rating of 2.7, it's an amazing TD.

I would guess at some point, Gaijin will add a Finnish KV-1 to the Swedish tree...It might not be a KV-1B, but it will be some variant...although, it is highly likely they will add it as a premium.
day 32 : you should try the jagdtiger sometime. it's extremly slow, doesn't have a turret, gets uptiers all the time, and most importantly, you'll have to play with german teams. the very definition of suffering

the most ridiculouds thing about the L62 is it's rank 3, completing challenged is so much easier at 2.7 then 5.0+ 😂😂
Yeah! I tend to do the same with the Russian ZiS-43, again it's a 2.7 Rank 3 "anti-air :) :) :)" vehicle, great for challenges when I need to use something at that tier. Plus Russia gets the IL-2-37 at Rank 3 and 2.7 also

I remember hating it always and forever, when I played it I refused to play it like a gremlin because it's a broken, unbalanced piece of piss as it is so I'd only shoot at planes or tanks that attacked me. But what was it before? It's APHE post-pen performance is still, quite literally, one of the most unrealistic and broken things in all of WT.

When I still played and did the battlepass missions, those "get 5 kills with SPAA" were a godsend.
Don't worry, no only do the devs no play their game, they don't watch SM content.
That and the wirbel are the uncrowned kings of AA

A few things:
1. Play the matilda, same gun size, worse firerate, more armor.
2. There are Finnish voice line now, hell yeah.
3. Sometimes when checking the distance the voices shout out the distance, before it shows it to you. Usually it is 50 m farther than actually. Meaning: knowing different languages is an advantage.
But matilda sees shermans while having NO explosive filler in its best pen shell and has no mobility
And the armor can't be angled either

I've been grinding the british tech tree and i was surprised with the fact that the Cromwell was actually a really good tank, a decent gun, suprisingly good armor and light tank mobility.

@@Scrogan You'll get used to play it safe or be very agressive, Either way you'll die meanwhile being overwhelmed or outplayed and will make little use of reverse (as if it is of any worth really). At Least that's how i learned to play the Cromwell

The Hungarian Nimrod AA/AT tank was similar, the Toldi and the 40mm arming it both originating with Swedish designs.
Seriously, the Nimrod turret would've fitted the Panzer III, creating an effective FlaKPanzer long before Germany came up with the Wirbelwind.
I'm hoping they give us the Nimrod.

the Nimrod took the predecessor to this (the Landsverk L-62 Anti I) and modified it for the Hungarians (they added an extra loader, doing so by making a larger turret), as well as improving turret front armour (from 13mm to 28mm) and later swapping out the L8V/36TR engine (160hp) for a Hungarian Ganz IP VGT 107 Type II (260hp according to some sources), and then some further minor differences. (also later Nimrods were modified to be able to load and fire 150mm Stielgranate rifle grenade: 180mm pen at 60 degrees HEAT with, 2.42kg of explosive, only 110m/s)
this (the Anti II) differs from the original L-62 by haveing extra hull armour (20mm max vs 13mm on the Anti 1/Nimrod) and turret armour (20 vs 13, but still less than the Nimrod's 28)
the Nimrod is thus 10.5tons vs this which is 10.7tons due to less armour overall, despite having more armour upfront. it also has a better power-to-weight ratio (especially the later Nimrods)

on the topic of swedish vehicles, you should try out the pvkv m/43 (1946). It's stupidly good and underrated. Great 75mm gun, -20 degrees of elevation, amazing horizontal firing arc, 75mm frontal armor which catches people off guard all the time, especially if you use the depression, incredibly mobile with it's 400hp engine and last but not least, it has the same insane optics as a leopard 1 (8x-16.8x)
yeah if you find a good hill and use the depression to your advantage (which also angles your 75mm armor) you become almost invincible

The pvkv m/43 has 15 degrees of depression, not 20
Also, the ikv 103 is similar, it's super fast, has 16 degrees of depression, and while it doesn't have as good of armor it's lower profile (and not open top) and has 400mm pen HEATFS at 4.0. I love using it at 5.3 and just going straight through the front plate of panthers

In case you're still in the mood for swedish tin cans, I'd love to see what you can do with the tiny swede 37 sabots, I've been using them for a while and they're endlessly entertaining. KV-1s and Su-122s never expect to get whammied with a stupid meme dart.

This thing sees 1.7 "enemies", yet works so easily at 4.0 and above. It is the perfect tool for seal clubbers. And Gaijin allows, even encourages it, it's almost as bad as the imbalance of CAS compared to any ground vehicle, and a perfect example of the very broken BR system. And why on a personal level I rarely bother to open the WT client.
So much talk about how the "economy" is being fixed (and credit to Gaijin, at higher BR's it appears it is) but problems like this still remain, exasperated by their "events" that encourage selfish play.
It can "one shot" an armoured ground vehicle, yet a lightly skinned plane will survive? (even heavily armoured planes have way less armour than a tank) How is that possible?
You said it yourself, planes dont have basically any armor, so the rounds for the 40mm dont get fused so they don't go boom, whereas when it hits a tank, the armor is thick enough to fuse the shell
@@gamerin123d6 Its almost as if SPAAs were designed to fire specifically at planes and held fire against anything that wasn't a plane, something a game cannot replicate due to meta-gaming on the players side.

@@gamerin123d6 Your response is valid, but ignores the point the thing is totally "unbalanced" in a ground forces point of view.
And even in an purely SPAA viewpoint, you'd expect that a player that was actually going to target planes would chose the rounds that could take out a plane (which are available), but no-one does, because...
1. Those rounds aren't that effective, especially with "real shatter" as currently implemented, and the very slow traverse/vertical movement makes low rank SPAA use difficult (skill issue, yep)... and
2. while you're trying to take out a plane, the rest of the enemy vehicles can see your tracers and have a free shot at you.
Besides, there's no more points (rp/sp) to be gained trying to down air, while ground targets are so much easier.
That's also why you rarely see a plane trying to provide "top cover" taking out other planes... ground vehicles are so much easier to hit, and with the same reward, so why bother? Why would you try to take out planes with your SPAA (or plane) when taking out tanks is so much more profitable and easier?
Planes can continue to shoot/bomb/rocket ground targets even though the game declares them "destroyed", but if a ground vehicle loses the commander, just one crew member out of many, it then can't defend itself. (assuming the ground vehicle actually has an armament that can possibly counter air... like a 50 cal)
My point , I guess, is that CAS in ground forces is not balanced in any way at all, and is far more problematic than the unballance of ground vehicles. .
@@holomatic1549 Not just the "players side". Players are taking advantage... or reacting to.. what is most effective. Just like spawn camping and map design problems.

It was a Swedish-designed vehicle made for the Finnish army by the Swedish Landsverk company.
But the L-62 is Swedish. Designed, built and produced by Sweden, sold to Finland.
As a finn, I can confirm what the other two said, the L-62 is swedish but sold and used by the finns

But on another note, it would be funny for you to try the Swedish Tank Destroyer: Spj fm/43-44. Not the greatest muzzle velocity or gun depression, but it's like hitting an ant with a car

Attempt 7 at requesting the British Conqueror, should be an interesting play with it’s 120mm, serviceable armor and full plane stabilizer, a better choice compared to the american M103 which only has HEAT-FS going for it
downsides are: APDS, British, Heavy tank (basically everything anti-spookston)

the APDS is not a problem, the issue is that it is early APDS. so accuracy is terrible, and it shatters on literally everything.
if by some miracle it hits the target, and pens it, the most it will do is emotional damage. not to the enemy, but to the player with the conqueror.
Oh, it is slow as heck too....
The only thing it does better than the m103 is having a stabilizer
the m103 is faster, has good armor, a much more potent gun (ap will pen most things, and it does fairly good damage, if that's not enough you have HEAT, or HE), and it has no ready rack, while the conqueror has a laughably small 8 round ready rack, that might gets you 2 assists before it runs out.
oh, also the m103 will not get OPd by 122mm HE too...

You should try all CV90s in one lineup, you get one 30mm bushmaster, a 40mm for each of the CV9040s (9040B, 9040C, Lvkv 90C, 9056 BILL), two 105mms that both can fire ATGMs, one on wheels and one with tracks, and eventually a 120mm autoloading cannon with 600mm+ pen APFSDS
I would love to see you take this out in AB. It is 3.7, but I'd like to see if you can succeed as easily.
It will be harder. I played AB 3.7 for a long time and can say he can demolish some Panzers, open top SPGs and trucks. But unless it's CQC, Shermans, T-34s, KVs and up-armored Panzers (which is the bulk of Ground Forces in this tier) will make your day insufferable

I've noticed that occasionally the L-62's HE shell will ignore all armour. I was in an M4A3 105 and one shot my turret face, killed the entire crew in a single hit, and the kill feed showed a HE shell just passing straight through the armour

If you liked this youd love the AMX-30 DCA. It shoots a belt that is APHE/APDS/APHE/HE. It shreds tanks, the apds gets thru thicker armor and the aphe nukes the inside of tanks. Its so fun

It would be nice if these 37/40mm vehicles got completely unmixed belt options, since they shoot slow having one inappropriate round has the potential to fuck you over, primarily with air targets, since you will likely get only one hit on them and if you happen to land a hit with an AP shell, then the plane just gets away. In addition to a “mixed ground” belt which alternates between the higher damage round and the higher pen round, such as a SAP/APC belt for this vehicle.
You know what Spookston hasnt played in years? The M3 Lee. He should play it now since ground forces has changed SO MUCH since it was available to play

Oh my God, this gave me some flashbacks to the last stand mechanic. I'm so glad Gajin removed that, because it wasn't fun for anyone when tanks could still fight with one guy slowly switching between driving and shooting. Not to mention it made some tanks basically immortal under the right circumstances.

you should try the italian P40. its by no means the best tank, but you can angle it to holy hell, its gun isnt useless, and enemies will definitely underestimate you.
