This was by far the best skylight install i have ever watched!! Thank you for the most descriptive easy to follow informative video ever!! i am now subscribed...! I am installing a dometic Heki 2 in my bus here in Australia, and its hard to find proper instructions for the install. This video although a different brand, was very very helpful... Thank you so much!!!!
What happens if you install it facing the other way? It would be so much easier to get on the roof deck, instead of climbing over the back of the lid to access the solar roof deck. Thank you.
I'm in Florida and don't care for natural light, rather have the privacy it be dark at night, but would really like to stand inside a low roof and have a look out. I have this idea of fabricating a custom large hydraulic hatch made from a solar panel and bending an inch of the roof sheet metal up so it's water tight also NO drilling, screws, butyl tape or caulking mess.
2:33 Isn't this hatch installed in the 'wrong' way? I think it would be nicer if it was the other way around, so you could climb on the roof deck from the inside
Now I want that. Nice vid! When to use an air saw and when to use nibbler? My van will be here next month and I want to do windows, fans & now, this skylight.
Great vid, detailed but not drawn out. How blackout is the shade? 100% with zero light around the track? These are marketed for cold environments, how would it do in the heat?
Hi Jeremy, great video! We are considering one of these as well for our van. Is this a 170? Also, what is that panelling system on the walls? looks quite interesting!
You can buy an RV escape hatch for $100... or a quality Vetus marine hatch that is way lower profile than this and you can also climb out of it for $3-400
Once you keep saying everything doesn't come with the skylight I gave up watching you. I know for a fact I keep looking at other videos I will find one that everything comes with the skylight.

You're very welcome!
i'm glad you mentioned you moved your maxxfan because that's what I want to do too!

Nicely done!

2000 bucks? The price is totally unrealistic. There is no way it can be that good!
Tern is built to last and simple install. You could do this yourself for probably like $400 at high quality.
Thank you! ☺
I’m struggling to have skylight, AC, Maxxair fan and 1 solar panel on my Sprinter 144 roof. Any help and comments would be greatly appreciated!🙏🙏
Could you provide a link for the roof adaptor?
Here you go Shawn: vanlandstore.com/products/diyvan-artic-tern-roof-hatch-adapter?_pos=2&_psq=tern&_ss=e&_v=1.0

agreed , nice product, nice install but the price ...ughhhh....sailboat hatch it is.
Can you drive with the skylight open or partially open??
Not recommend.
Obelink Panorama LED 70 x 50 roof hatch
Can you put this on a skoolie?
For sure.
Did you not use any adhesive between the spacer and the hatch itself?
Yes we recommend using an adhesive there.
Overpriced at $1000, let alone 2! Who comes up with these prices? Simply no reason to continue viewing.
Its expensive but people love them!
Who manufacture these. They can be bought directly from EU.
Same is with Webasto heater wich is 40% less expensive in Europe.
2000 and adaptor not included . rofl. this thing must not cost more than 250 and thats with roof adaptor and silicon lmao
I wish they were cheaper too but people love them even at that cost.
If your budget is only $250, why don't you just duct tape some plexiglass on top and brag to your friends about how much money you saved??
I am looking for a quality skylight not a power sunroof. God talk about overkill.....
