    No mega budget, no CGI, just a great story line and quality actors. Loved this series sorry that it's over

    I always wished this series had the budget to portray the events of Sharpe's Trafalgar, one of my absolute favorites of the original novels.

    Aye , I read the books and found the series on the wee screen. Found this treasure in the video section . God love Richard and Patrick. A great series from a great storyteller. 🍻

    I think this is a good ending, it's not what we wanted but it's nice to see sir henry give Shapre the respect he deserved.

    Simmerson never changes, even bereft of some of his mind, still responds to a rank, by grovelling and still hates Sharpe, but see him as a useful soldier.
    At the real Waterloo one regiment all died under cannon fire, while formed in square to receive cavalry. Still know to this day, because they were mentioned in dispatches.

      @@Metalalbumreviewers AND...theres the problem. See it was well done. And if you had never read the books? You would be abhorant at the idea. But I am one of those that loved the tv series. Read the books. And saw that the budget left a lot of things out sadly. I could mention so many things. But the one that I would LOVE to see portrayed is the KGL breaking three squares . I mean it did happen in real life not an ebelishment for drama.

      Both Napoleonic, and Hornblower was an influence on Sharpe.

    Sean bean isn't as young in this as in the other episodes, was this done before or after LOTR?

      8-10 yrs before. This is where he learnt swordfighting and riding which landed him roles including LOTR.

      @@greg1943-u3i I think this movie came out in like 2007 so after, but atleast all Sharpe episodes/movies until waterloo was before LOTR.

      Yeah the two Indian sharpe stories are well after the oringnal run of sharpe, they adapt stories that ironically take place before the sharpes battles in the peninsular war, the production value as you can see is much better
