Upon the night of Guy Fawkes I received notification of a Sharpe clip, immediately halted firework celebrations, reached for my scribe to report in. That's my style, sir
Aye , I read the books and found the series on the wee screen. Found this treasure in the video section . God love Richard and Patrick. A great series from a great storyteller. 🍻
Simmerson never changes, even bereft of some of his mind, still responds to a rank, by grovelling and still hates Sharpe, but see him as a useful soldier. At the real Waterloo one regiment all died under cannon fire, while formed in square to receive cavalry. Still know to this day, because they were mentioned in dispatches.
@@Metalalbumreviewers AND...theres the problem. See it was well done. And if you had never read the books? You would be abhorant at the idea. But I am one of those that loved the tv series. Read the books. And saw that the budget left a lot of things out sadly. I could mention so many things. But the one that I would LOVE to see portrayed is the KGL breaking three squares . I mean it did happen in real life not an ebelishment for drama.
Yeah the two Indian sharpe stories are well after the oringnal run of sharpe, they adapt stories that ironically take place before the sharpes battles in the peninsular war, the production value as you can see is much better
No mega budget, no CGI, just a great story line and quality actors. Loved this series sorry that it's over
A beautiful bit of acting from that young man as he dies, deeply moving, and SB too.
Quite possibly the best series ever. Good films too. Now that is soldiering.
2:56- ah, yes, proper fight in the background
I always wished this series had the budget to portray the events of Sharpe's Trafalgar, one of my absolute favorites of the original novels.
Did he also go to Denmark in that one? Can't remember....
What was the storyline?
Next book after Trafalgar!@@carmenlottner297
@@carmenlottner297no that’s the novel after trafalgar.
Yeah me too. The last kingdom got everything. Just imagine a sharpe series with the same budget.
24:17 - the sound of a man expelling every ounce of hate in his body to breathe in a new soul.
It's beautiful, in its way.

You lost the fireworks of the King of England!
Well done & thank you British Army Major Richard Sharpe for everything.

I think this is a good ending, it's not what we wanted but it's nice to see sir henry give Shapre the respect he deserved.
Reading the warranty on your heavy cavalry sword to the villain before delivering the coup de grace? That's soldiering.
Sharpe yet again has distinguished himself
Earning the respect of a true aristocrat. What more can an Englishman ask for.
Such a triumphant ending.

I love the books ❤

The moment this person was about to fight
I can sense the He had enough
Is there a campaign to get Sharpe's remade?
Remake? This 90s classic???
You shame your self sir!!!
Why remake something that was already done so well?
Not everything good needs a remake.
Without Bean? No way. As much as I like him, at 65 he _is_ getting a little long in the tooth for this role. _Sharpe's Retirement?_
@@spikespa5208 sharpes pension? Sharpes retirement home lol

Why does Sharpe remind me of HORATIO HORNBLOWER ?
Both Napoleonic, and Hornblower was an influence on Sharpe.
Sean bean isn't as young in this as in the other episodes, was this done before or after LOTR?
8-10 yrs before. This is where he learnt swordfighting and riding which landed him roles including LOTR.
@@greg1943-u3i I think this movie came out in like 2007 so after, but atleast all Sharpe episodes/movies until waterloo was before LOTR.
