    WOW Steve what a project the 9600 it's going to be some tractor !! It's looks so right with Q cab on it you'd think it came out the factory like that. And what a marvelous job your doing in restoring it and your attention to detail will make it a good working tractor can't wait to see it progressing along to the finished tractor. Some land we now farm the gentleman farmed it using a 8600 and a 9600 lovely old tractors and the 9600 sounded lovely pull a four furrow dowdeswell plough wish I'd got some pictures of them but didn't have a phone with a camera in those day's !! Thanks very interesting video looking forward to more 👌👍

    Steve, you have performed miracles to that old 9600. The time you have spent on it already, will result in a, not only good sounding but good looking workhorse for you! I can see why it has taken the time, because you are reengineering the whole m/c, and are doing a sterling job. Thanks for potting together the photo's and bits you have saved . I didn't know about mixing the different brake fluids, but then again, if I had done it, I would have changed all the fluid anyway! Thanks once again watching with great interest, as it's nice to se the "old" stuff being revived, even though I was working on those and similar when I was an Ag Mech in the 80's.

      A farm I worked ran a Same Explorer 2 on the feeder wagon for about 10 year's. They bought it in about 2007
      any way after years of good service we had to start blending the brakes every 6 or so weeks ago I think they replaced 2 master cylinder's I think cubicle house's has In built feeder's they've got to use the underpants too get the bottom of the beds and that coursed premature ware and a lot of leg work.

    Great video Steve 👍 quite a rare tractor the 9600 was that a 401 engine in there 🤔 remember back in the 70s a large arable farm a few miles down the road from us got a new 8600 and a 9600 or they might have been an 8000 and a 9000 but remember they had white cabs which I believe were Hara cabs 🤔 they were also the first time I saw semi mounted ploughs behind a tractor 👍 looking forward to seeing the work on this going forward 👍

      @bobpaterson1845 thanks Bob, the cab is what's stopping it from moving forward so that'll be the next job 👍

    That bubble Q cab suits the 9600 very well. The Hara cabs never looked great in my opinion. The 9000 and 9600 were some beast in their day.

    • @FenlandCrusader
      @FenlandCrusader  15 часов назад +1

      @dellhell8842 they certainly were, and i thought the cab suited the tractor that's why I bought it but I've had a fair bit of criticism about it over the years 🤨

    I remember seeing this machine on Facebook and thought it looked really smart with the Q cab, it makes me wonder why ford never did it from factory

    • @FenlandCrusader
      @FenlandCrusader  7 часов назад +1

      @oakfarmagricultural506 thanks, they did with the next model the 9700, the first Q cab came out with the 7700 and the 9600 was just border line before that, but also it's American and i suppose the rules and regulations were different over there compared to us in the uk 🇬🇧

    Good old American iron Steve, not many of them around my part of Wisconsin though, seen a couple but there rough, having the q cab is very unique l must say, credit to you for finding that, is the inside of the cab in fairly good shape?

    • @FenlandCrusader
      @FenlandCrusader  15 часов назад +1

      @glennlingard7851 thanks theres not that many here in the uk, the cab is a complete rebuild with a few repair panel's and a full new interior which I've had here for awhile nice to here from somebody from across the pond 👍

      @@FenlandCrusaderthanks Steve, very nice, l replaced the cab interior on my 1977 7600 q cab a few years ago, not an easy job to do right especially with aftermarket stuff, new door and window rubbers as well, well worth it, looking forward to more on updates on your Ford.

    Steve, are you concerned about losing the temper in the steel on that front axle, being you heated it that hot? Those big Fords were quite popular here in the states. They had a good reputation for work horses. I always thought about one for my farming, but ended up with a big 4850 Deere and a 2594 Case/ IHC instead.

    • @FenlandCrusader
      @FenlandCrusader  10 часов назад +1

      @frankwurth5375 thanks, and no not really I've done them before on different tractor's with success and this is the second one that wouldn't slide out so cutting it was the only answer, but they would've just pressed the steel and welded a plate in the back don't think it would've been heat treated afterwards, it's a hefty bit of steel 👍

      It's great looking forward each week to see what project you'll be working on!! - I'm surprised that you've got time for any farm work!! You mentioned a while ago about putting a selene 4wd axle on the p6 - are you still considering that?
