This may be the group I remember playing at "Clouds" the nightclub in East Grinstead in the 1970's.. They were really good and popular too.

Great band, they used to come down to 'Penelopes' in Paignton, South Devon in 70/71and were always a favourite. I think I have 'Tapestry' stored away somewhere with a signed photo.

I used to see Madrigal all the time in Northamptonshire - - one of the best bands we used to see at our local club- - i can still remember some of the numbers featured in their set. Would love to see some old photos of them and hear a clip of Tapestry on here

So glad to have found this track --I have very happy memories of seeing Madrigal play live many times during the early 70's --They had a really good act --very tight and great harmonies . I believe they may have released an album also. --They eventually changed the line up and became Merlin and signed to CBS and had moderate success with the release of an album and 4/5 singles --does anyone know what happened to any of the members ???

@lynniethepink1 ...... Drummer Dave Wightwick is apparantly not involved in music these days and lives in Scotland. Bass Player Paul Taylor was last heard running a pub some where in London. Martin Hartup & Andy Burgess still in the Dunstable area as far as anyone knows............. After Madrigal ---Dave Wightwick & Paul Taylor went on to form Merlin along with Bob Webb -keyboards and Jamie Moses guitar. They released their debut album ...Merlin on CBS and released 4 or 5 singles.

@lynniethepink1 Hello again ... Yes Madrigal I believe were Luton/ Dunstable based.. I live in Kettering and the band were regulars at one of the local clubs always packing the place out. I actually had contact with the drummer Dave Wightwicks son who saw a post of mine on here and very kindly updated me on who was doing what.-Singer Pete Tyler went to work as a DJ for Peter Stringfellow then eventually moved up to the Scottish Borders where he works for an entertainment agency.

@lynniethepink1 ----Hi Glad to see that there are still some Madrigal fans out there , great band and many happy memories. I have a feeling that the single Tapestry is quite collectable now - you would be very lucky to get hold of a copy , but you never know................ Ive done some research and found out what most of the former members are up to --let me know if youre interested and I can update you .
