I can only confirm at the utmost that this video does absolutely not refer to the "Manfred Mann's Earthband" but to the gorgeous Jazz-Rock formation "Manfred Mann's Chapter 3". I'm the owner of both of their splendid longplayers! Great music👍👍👍! Best wishes to all the participants of "so long ago"...from Joachim from Cologne/Germany 💗💗💗😍😍!!!
Wow. Discovered this song by chance on Spotify about a year ago. Been spreading it to friends since (also as a paid download ;-) ). Now I discover there is a video even. How cool is that.
Congrats! On having been in this fabulous, tho' short lived line up,and for still being with us - live long and prosper... I loved this track as a kid when I had it on the vertigo annual...sigh...
@@steveyorkbass6516 man, I was thinking that the bass here is so awesome, and then here you are. Praise be to the Internet. Chapter 3 is definitely my favorite of the Manfred Mann incarnations!
I had forgotten manfred Mann's Earthband re-recorded this on their "Glorified Magnified" 1972 album. The original was on "Manfred Mann Chapter Three" from 1969...one of the first LP releases on Vertigo.Same track also appeared on the "Vertigo Annual '70" double LP Various Artists compilation.
One of my favorite Lps. I purchased my copy of Manfred Mann's Chapter Three in 1974, though this is the 1st time I have seen this particular Video. ... Thanks for the Post 😉
Never will i forget how a cat was treat in Asia on tv in'98.. never will i forget the basement of Suisse in '08.. never will i forget the long&short sleeves of Sudan.. going down there was just the tip of the iceberg 🎵🎹🎶
God I wish Manfred Mann did more lead vocals! This vocal style is actually more contemporary. He even looks like an Emo kid who grew up and did the hipster beard thing.

Manfred Mann Chapter III - magnificent band!
What a gem!
That fu@king deep and heavy bassline is killer. Love how everything comes together

ManfredMann Earth Band helped me get through my high school years
Fabulous is manfred not the most underrated artist ever ?
i wouldn't said underrated, he had big hits in 60s with MM and in 70s as MMEB, and still touring
This is not MMEB. It is the fabulous Manfred Mann's Chapter 3 in France from 9 Feb 1970. :)
msafier thanks for clearing that up. It never looked like 1972 (Would have most likely filmed in Colour otherwise) . It looks 1970.
That is correct. I am the bass player. I have never seen this before but I know it is Chapter 3 , 1970.

This is SO Vertigo.
I like this version better
The band Trifle did a cover of this, too. But their magnum opus is the song New Religion, imo. Check them out if you’re not familiar, you may like it.

Ah yes, Flint and Steel.
1.25 speed and you're there.
Randomly found this and I'm not into this music at all but this was nostalgic
That bass
It's MM Chapter 3. Mike Hugg on electric piano.
Hugg was the drummer in the original Manfred Mann.
@@JHollowayNetwork yes, but in Chapter 3 Hugg moved to electric piano and lead vocals.
That Bass is nuts
That bassline is killah
everyone whose freaking out about racism nowadays needs to look back at the bands from the 60's and 70's.
What's that got anything to do with the fact that racism is alive and well
Groovy. He is a super villain
Anybody here from kickass
The Prodigy - Stand Up
Great post, thank you! FYI, this is not the Earth Band, it's MM Chapter Three.

1:01 - That saxophone player looks very much like Walt Parazaider from Chicago.

Chapter lll rules . Chapter lll and 1/2 would probably have been a life sentence or at least a death sentence.
