@@SC-LXVII So difficult to say anything here without spoilers. I am of the opinion that spiritual manipulation is one of the Vorlons' favorite tools for grooming the younger races, along with creating [SPOILERS] and [SPOILERS]. G'Kar's mind was wide open to telepathic control when he was on the Dust, and Kosh took advantage of that to manipulate G'Kar's memories of his father, and telepathically implant visions of the Narn angelic being G'Lan. This pushed G'Kar in the direction of spiritual enlightenment. The Vorlons wanted to make G'Kar a religious leader.
For Kosh, the ends justified the means.

I always felt that this is compared to Sheridan's abduction and Kosh's contact to him. Kosh mentions how his mind was quiet enough for him to come through. It may be difficult to think the same of G'Kar in this moment, but consider: whenever you are going through a crisis, once you've dug and found out all the information you need or can, you process it all and then there's that moment just before you do whatever you're about to do next where you just stop as everything coalesces. Your mind is basically quiet in that moment. G'Kar was likely going through something similar.

You know how you can go back and watch all of the Star Wars movies as though it's the story of C3PO and R2D2 throughout the history of the Rebellion and the Empire? You've now hit the point at which this statement will make sense to you -- Babylon 5 is the story of the relationship between G'kar and Londo. And everyone else - Sheriden, Delenn, Garibaldi, Vir, Lenir - are all secondary characters. G'kar and Londo's relationship ties the entire series, including prequel and sequels, together. This is Londo and G'kar's story. And at this point forward, it becomes more and more clear how true that is. (Not saying they're always in the spotlight. But they provide the only singular thread of continuity through the entire story.)

While Kosh is a Vorlon, it can be said that he cares about the younger races more than the rest of his race (or at least understands the necessity of them in the grand fabric of the universe). As such, he guides them, usually subtly. That no doubt is what is going on here (omitting more detail due to potential spoilers).
G'Kar has always had noble purpose simmering in the background (look at the council speech where he speaks on freedom, for example). A nudge is all he needs to walk that "enlightened" path.
Standout episode. Kosh uses Bester's scheme to set into motion events far beyond the intended goal.

Fun fact: G'kar's father (Kosh) was played by Jim Norton, who we've seen in two previous episodes as the older male Ombuds on Babylon 5.
Fun fact #2: I can only recall three times, in sci-fi series, where we have a minor character with the surname Lindstrom. The drug dealer in this episode, and two other minor characters in the original Star Trek. I tend to notice that, given that it's my (very unusual in North America) surname as well :)
As to discussing this episode further, I'd love to - except I couldn't trust myself not to reveal spoilers. This episode was great but there's even greater to come and I'm sure I couldn't resist the temptation to say things like "wait until you see what happens to " or "did you know that (character) will do this?" I think it makes a lot of sense that the First ones were goaded into helping by Ivanova sorta talking down to them. Sure they are assumedly old and wise, but if there is one thing that living a long time definitely seems to do to a lot of people in stories, is make them arrogant. You see with things like elves in fantasy, or in RL mythology like the ancient Greek gods, and even the Vorlon's themselves are also like that. I guess when someone has been around and know a lot of stuff, and know that they know a lot of stuff, they really don't like to get questioned or called out on anything.

The Walkers of Sigma 957 use that planet as their home base in this dimension as they travel to new realms. That's why they won't let any young races colonize it. They want their base left untouched.

1:00 "communist manifesto ... rat out your friends" - I wonder how you came to that conclusion. If anything, JMS's writing is a critique of fascism, with the Centauri being fictional retelling of not only the Roman Empire but also Mussolini's delusions of grandeur (see Donald Trump for a contemporary example.)
If you want a contemporary American analogy to the "Ministry of Peace" in B5, try the state of Texas, where not only did they outlaw abortions but the state trying to make it more difficult to travel outside of TX to get an abortion and requires a doctor to document their justification for abortions. And importantly, TX essentially deputizes citizens to carry out observations and reporting of these things. Also try looking at Florida and Governor DeSantis and the various don't-say-gay efforts.
Or how about efforts by right-wing politicians to get schools to ban Critical Race Theory (even though it's hardly even touched on by even a few schools). _That_ is your contemporary analog to the state of Earth-gov in JMS's timeline.

It's a critique of ALL authoritarian governments, regardless of political leanings. I keep shaking my head every time people on both sides of the political spectrum watch this show and are so SURE it's obviously referring to their political opponents - completely missing the point! These things happened in Nazi Germany, in Fascist Italy, in McCarthian America, and in Communist Russia. Tyranny is tyranny , it's not a left or right thing.

The political officer to look over Sheridan's shoulder in the previous episode is straight out of the Soviet Union, not Italy. The Soviets always had political officers on every sub, ship, and military unit to look over the shoulder of the military commanders to make sure to avoid political 'mistakes' (and did so for decades after WW2). Led to a lot of poor or outright bad military decisions. As mentioned elsewhere the Ministry of Peace was heavily influenced from 1984, which was critique of the emerging tyrannical governments like Stalinist Soviet Union, but really of all totalitarian regimes. Not to mention some upcoming posters in the show are styled upon Soviet union posters. Please look beyond the all too often used 'fascism' slur. Not to mention JMS *repeatedly* said he was drawing upon larger, and historically repeating, and old, human conditions.
